@Zoey92

I've had 3 scans already but got my 12 week one on 22nd Nov so I definitely won't be buying anything before then but if MC have a massive sale after that I might just have to!

Zoey92 · 05/11/2019 22:00

@APD1981 I've only had 1 an that was with a scare last week im just a worrier 🤦‍♀️

AmyMaria2 · 05/11/2019 22:01

I've already brought a few vests and a due in 2020 babygrow. Half of me didn't want to jinx anything and half of me was too excited. I'm not getting anything else until i know the gender, and prams and bigger things later on. It's a shame about mothercare, hope they do have a sale at some point. x

So question for you guys as im FTM, i forgot to have my multivitamin this morning, I've just taken it about 30mins ago. Yea well within 15mins i was running to the loo to be sick and that what i brought up, anyone else not agreeing with them? Or have i taken it too late in day

AmyMaria2 · 05/11/2019 23:14

@Zoey92 that's strange if they don't usually make you sick, what type are you taking?? Maybe it was the time of day x

RPPs · 06/11/2019 06:49

@zoey92 did you have the vitamin without food? This has happened to me in the past when Ive taken vits without food, feeling nauseous but now that you are particularly sensitive it could cause vomiting. Make sure to take with food but always eat something before consuming.

Vio112 · 06/11/2019 07:46

@zoey92 I read that it's best to take the tablet in the evening before bed for that reason. I'm taking a Lloyds pharmacy mum to be multi vitamin and folic acid, it's cheaper and I've had no problems with it! I get really nauseus when my blood sugar drops but otherwise I've been really lucky and haven't thrown up. Hope I haven't just jinxed it 🤭

Zoey92 · 06/11/2019 08:49

Just asda pregnancy multivitamin which i was told is perfectly fine, i was told to avoid pregnacare just due to the price and you're only paying for a brand. I hadn't ate that second, but I'd ate throughout the day.

Lemonysherbet · 06/11/2019 11:14

I take it all back, I have been sick so much today. Roll on the placenta taking over!

AmyMaria2 · 06/11/2019 11:53

@Zoey92 I don't usually take mine at the same time each day as I don't eat at regular times anymore lol, but my 7seas ones haven't made me feel sick x

Oh no @Lemonysherbet hopefully you have some more good days soon x

So I've just changed mine to taking just vitamin D and folic acid as the multivitamin I was taking had iron in which can contribute to nausea. Also the size of the multi vit was making me gag. Started cyclizine today for the sickness so hopefully start to feel a bit more normal soon 😁

Zoey92 · 06/11/2019 13:38

Got my scan through today woo 11th December, I'll be 12+2 by then, other halfs on nightshift and its my day off work, perfect ☺️ I've also been out to buy folic acid and vit D spoke to a midwife this morning she advised as do that, sorry about the sickness @lemonysherbet

Babymaher · 06/11/2019 14:42

@Zoey92 exciting news about your scan Grin have you already had your booking appointment?

Zoey92 · 06/11/2019 14:54

@babymaher yes lovely i had that last monday, I'll be 12+2 by the time my scan is here

Babymaher · 06/11/2019 15:08

@Zoey92 so excited for you! I feel like I’m behind my booking appointment is next week so hopefully will find out scan date after this, I will be 12 weeks 2nd December.

Vio112 · 06/11/2019 17:01

Did any of you get your booking appointment through your gp? I have a booking appointment in 2 weeks with a community midwife and just wondering about when/how I should organise scan? I was planning to just book it in when I saw the midwife but now I'm wondering if a letter will come through even though I didn't self refer. I really want to have the scan slightly earlier at 11 + 4 as I'll be visiting family that day and wanted to tell them /show scan picture!

Smiffette · 06/11/2019 17:10

@Vio112 after the booking in appointment you tend to get a letter through the week after with the date for the scan. You don't get to necessarily choose when you have it, at least that's my experience, they just make sure you have it between 11-14 weeks x

Zoey92 · 06/11/2019 18:01

I had my pre booking 2wks ago, then my actual booking appointment last monday at my local Surestart (for some reason its not done at my GP) then today i got my letter for my scan in post @vio112

Zoey92 · 06/11/2019 18:03

I also rang to bring my scan forward a week, she was quite reluctant till i told her I'd actually be 12+2 anyways

Notnowokay · 06/11/2019 18:06

@Vio112, you can ask if they have any appointments available on the date you want. A quick call might be all it takes. They sent me an appointment for 3pm and I called to change time and I was offered an earlier appointment on the same day. It is worth a try to see if they have an available slot on the date you want. I nearly changed my date again as I felt it was to far but then dsis told me she is off that day and would take my youngest and dh is working late shift. So it is a perfect day for a scan.

Vio112 · 06/11/2019 19:24

Thanks for the replies! The problem is, I'm not really sure where to call as don't know where my scan would take place. Maybe I'll ask my gp receptionist about it tomorrow.

Zoey92 · 06/11/2019 19:31

@Vio112 your scan will be at your local hospital but its usually your midwife that arranges it once you've had your booking appointment

RPPs · 06/11/2019 21:28

I called to change my scan from 12+5 to 12 because Im having a party with friends and family and I want to make the announcement. She changed it for me when I explained my husband was working the other date. However she said I need to be minimum 11+5. Might be different in other hospitals though.
Is anyone else showing? I get bigger as the day goes but im struggling to hide it now.

Evening Girlies

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm sorry to hear about all the sickness. Not to gloat but I've not had any so I'm a little worried it'll come and bite me on the bum 😐

My scan has been booked in for 10th of December which is 13 weeks! I don't mean to be ungrateful but I was really hoping for the week before because I'm now going to have to act drunk at my works Christmas Party 😂
I'm not a big drinker but I went out with work a couple of weeks ago and they couldn't believe I wasn't having my fav gin so I won't fool them again with the ole "My turn to drive" 🙈

I was so upset at work today, after 4 weeks of desperately keeping it a secret, a colleague of mine, in front of everyone asked "Are you pregnant, I've been thinking it a lot recently" then went on to list all the reasons why, so now all of them are now thinking it despite my best attempt to lie! Has this happened to anyone else? I wouldn't DREAM of saying that to someone even if I thought it 😡

Rant over, bed time for me I think 😉❤️ xx
