@facevalue I have congested sinuses every night now. I haven't slept well in weeks, and every night I am waking up at 2 or 3 am with terrible congestion and then unable to fall asleep. I have been using breathe right strips, saline spray and Olbas Inhaler and they all help a little but not much.

woollycat · 28/10/2019 06:22

@Shelbustotherescue sending hugs and hoping you get good news soon.

woollycat · 28/10/2019 06:25

@Raindancer411 regarding cramps lower down - I had these a few weeks ago, around weeks 6 and 7. It was really bad cramping, multiple times a day and night - it was so painful it would wake me up at night. I quickly realized it was indeed due to trapped wind, because every time eventually I would pass wind and it would calm down. I found that putting a hot water bottle on the area worked miracles - within minutes the pain would subside! Hope this helps you too!

rosewater20 · 28/10/2019 06:32

@woollycat @Raindancer411, I have had the same thing from about 4 weeks onward but cramping with trapped wind, anytime I need a wee and general cramps too that feel like period cramps. GP said it is normal and one of my friends said that she had terrible cramping during her entire pregnancy.

mintbear · 28/10/2019 07:01

Morning all
Re the cramping, last week I did have a shooting pain which was different to the normal cramps from wind. It didn't last too long but it made me sit up and take notice of it.

I'm thinking about telling work this week, any advice would be appreciated! I haven't told them so far because I haven't felt ready for everyone to know. However, I'm getting so big I won't be able to keep it secret for much (any) longer.
Our team is a nightmare for gossip and whispers, so I know as soon as I tell the boss, it'll be 'out there'. I'm thinking of sending an email to the whole team straight after telling the main few people, that way every one knows at the same time.

Raindancer411 · 28/10/2019 07:50

Thanks all. I tried the water bottle and even when pressure was relieved it was short relief. Friend is asking about deflatine tablets as the other half saw they were safe in pregnancy. I hardly slept last night through it.

november90 · 28/10/2019 07:59

@facevalue I'm with you there on the stuffy nose! It's so irritating isn't it and difficult to sleep :( it happened in my first pregnancy too and it did pass after a while but yeah... another lovely pregnancy symptom 🤦🏼‍♀️

Speaking of which... anyone else getting a really rashy face? I suffer with eczema generally but I'm dining my face is so dry and rashy and bumpy. I'm not drinking nearly enough water and the weather is suddenly cold but it's awful!

Sunshine8888 · 28/10/2019 08:25

I’m still suffering from a cold, it just won’t go way and now my nose keeps bleeding as well whenever I blow it, it’s really unpleasant! I need to tell work this week too, the bump is just getting so hard to hide

@facevalue yes I am well and truly full of a cold. It's hit me for 6 this weekend. I think it's the one going round the office rather than a pg symptom though. I feel so rough!

@november90 oh my god yes! I have the worst rash / sore from the corner of my mouth up my cheek. I can cover it with makeup but it's getting uncomfortable. I've had it since week 5, started as a little sore in the corner of my mouth. I've been treating it with Vaseline ever since but it hasn't gone anywhere and got worse so I have a drs app tonight to hopefully get something for it. I've read it can be a vitamin deficiency common in pregnancy. I also have mouth ulcers something chronic at the moment so would lead me to think vitamin deficiency...

also I have awful spotty skin all over my face and chest and back... anyone else had this? I had acne growing up and the pill controlled it, I was nervous coming off of the pill in case it came back and thankfully it didn't, but pregnancy seems to have brought it out... old wives tale is that bad skin is a girl!

Shelbustotherescue · 28/10/2019 11:15

Sorry for being quiet ladies, I am still waiting on scan - is tomorrow at 11am - no improvement SadSadSad

Bumpingalong84 · 28/10/2019 11:18

@Shelbustotherescue I’m so sorry. Are you at home. Hope you’ve got someone looking after you.

Bumpingalong84 · 28/10/2019 11:26

Ohh @facevalue that’s annoying re-mother in law!! I’d be cross. We have only told my SIL family wise, she helps us out with DD when we have had scans and is just amazing all round and we are very close. If all is well as scan tomorrow we will start telling our parents which is nice. The last two times they knew right from the start!! So after the sadness in May, I’m hoping surprising them with a 10wk scan photo will be nice! Feeling so anxious about it tho!

facevalue · 28/10/2019 11:38

@mrsf1204 @november90 you poor things. i thought everyone can get flushed but the beautiful pregnancy glow. if the corners of the mouth are particularly bad if definitely worth seeing the GP, i know u can have a fungal infection showing up in that way or a vitamin deficiency. Cracks at the corners of your mouth. The Deficiency: Iron, zinc, and B vitamins like niacin (B3), riboflavin (B2), and B12. all these can be checked. the other worry with a new rash of the face is something called Lupus. my currently pregnant friend was diagnosed with it and she was given steroids but it all depends on how it looks when a doctor looks at it. sorry i'm no help.
in my previous pregnancy i had itchy skin and my midwife sent me of liver and gallbladder salts test in the EPU. definitely worth getting checked and i hope it's nothing.

@jeffsar4 @mrsf @Sunshine8888 @november @rosewater20 oh ladies i feel like i've had sinusitis and a cold for days but always worst during the night and early hours ... i'm now stuffing a tissue folded in each nostril and it isn't SEXY .... my husband took one look and said 'oh it's only getting better🙀' after all the burps and farts i don't think he even thinks i'm a woman anymore 😢

who's having scans this week ???? mine on friday 🥵🥵🥵

@Shelbustotherescue

i hope the scan is normal. did you bleed? what happened that made u end up in A&E ? did u fall? we've all been worried and thinking of u xxx fingers crossed

Bumpingalong84 · 28/10/2019 11:42

I’m having one tomorrow but I’ll only be 10+2 ish. They offered me it at the epu just because of my mmc last time. So my 12wk one of all is well tomorrow is in two weeks 😬 feels like forever 😩

Sunshine8888 · 28/10/2019 11:49

@jeffsar4 I had the test on weds and got the results the following Tuesday so not long.

I just told my boss the news, burst into tears, all very glamorous (not)! He was genuinely surprised but seemed really happy for me. Feels like a big weight has been lifted! Really want to tell my colleagues but have to wait until he’s spoken to the managing partner!

Purple29 · 28/10/2019 12:14

I have an early scan today at 1630, I'm soooo nervous!!! Its an early scan so I'm only 10+3 but this weekend is the only chance to surprise our family (we stay a bit away from them) they're not going to be expecting it as we have had some fertility issues and I've been open with them about it so they think we are still waiting to hear!! So my 12 week one is a week on friday!! I feel like it's going to have all been in my head!!! Good luck to everyone else with scans today 😊

kstann · 28/10/2019 12:17

@Shelbustotherescue I'm so sorry you can't get answers quicker! Hoping everything is okay for you and you're being looked after in the mean time! X

kstann · 28/10/2019 12:18

@Purple29 it's soooo lovely telling the family! We managed to film our parents reactions and I always watch it back 🥰
Hope your scan goes well!x

Bumpingalong84 · 28/10/2019 12:20

Ohh @Purple29 you are a few days ahead of me, I’m 10+1 today. Let me know how you get on. I’m hoping we get to see little arms and legs tomorrow. So lovely being able to tell them all after your issues, I’m sure they will be ecstatic for you.

woollycat · 28/10/2019 12:26

My '12 week' scan is this Friday! But in reality I am 10+1 today, so it's likely they will call me back for another scan so they can do the combined screening. I can't believe this week has actually arrived! 🌟

Shelbustotherescue · 28/10/2019 12:31

Thanks everyone, I had severe pain which is why we went to a&e - midwives sent me straight there, they don't know what's happening, my bloods show I'm still pregnant but that isn't really reliable because it doesn't say whether the baby is okay in there, they can't pick up heartbeat through Doppler because I'm only 13 weeks, it's incredibly hard to process that they won't scan until tomorrow - although I suppose in their eyes if something is wrong with the baby they cannot "help" it anyway, it's all very cut and dry with them

Purple29 · 28/10/2019 12:42

@kstann I'm so excited, my mum has been my rock so I cant wait to tell her, it's been eating me up hiding it, but the reveal will be worth it.

@bumpingalong84 I will let you know that's what I'm hoping to see, and a little heartbeat!!! So far I've not had a huge amount of symptoms, especially since about 8 weeks so hoping everything is ok.

Clairesoph · 28/10/2019 12:46

Is anyone looking noticably pregnant yet? 11+3 second baby and feeling huge!? Didnt show til nearly 23 weeks with my first

@jeffsar4 try dried apricots! Only thing that helped me with constipation in my last pregnancy and ive just started on them again 😩 even my midwife remembered and she told the student nurse at my booking in appt "oh Sophie suffered terribly with constipation and hemarroihds" CHEERS HUN hahaha

Bumpingalong84 · 28/10/2019 12:55

Ohh @Clairesoph that made me chuckle 😂 I’m pregnant with number 2 as well, but had a mmc in May at 12wks, which means I grew then so my tummy muscles are weak! I’m already showing and trying to hide it at work is starting to get a bit tricky as I’m naturally slim 🙈 I’m on 10+1
