Hellooooo there

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Neuro · 31/08/2007 13:51

I feel all restless talking of Japan.

Mixedmama i amended my 5 year plan the other day! Instead of doing a Masters degree (a long way off) over here, i'm looking at spending two years either in New YOrk or San Francisco. It'll be more expensive, but should have accrued some property equity to cover it.

I'm going to be a skint, but well educated globe trotting independent mum. Will settle when 'big' school time looms.

Neuro · 31/08/2007 13:52

Does that mean you have Berber ancestry? Didn't they have blue eyes, i mean, don't they?

Are you pale or dark skinned?

I think blue eyes and dark hair a lovely combo.

jealous

mixedmama · 31/08/2007 13:54

So far I only have a one year plan which involves losing weight and getting family organised etc.

Longer term has three bullet points mainly about buying a house and career.

Once children reach 8-10 going to start (hopefully) taking cultural trips where they can learn more than sunbathing.

Plans need to be flexible Neuro - that is key. And, where in your plan are you hoping to meet this mysterious man who was going to put the ring on your finger..

Well my grandmothers family are from Iraq and my grandfathers possibly Berber, my dad like to through Huns and Tatars around from time to time, but his family have light eyes.

I am not dark, but i guess I look medit but I have been asked all kinds of things Spanish, italian, lebanese and most often if I am half Chinese / Malaysian or some other Oriental country. At this point my dad likes to bring in Mongol ancestry.

My dad is hilarious he is like the Indian dad on Goodness Gracious Me - Turkey Is the Centre of The Universe.

Turns out Zinadine Zidane is Berber so I would like a little bit of that please.

Neuro - DP been to Japan 3 times now and is going again for 2 two week trips. September and again Nov. HE didnt get to see much of the sights last time as they had typhoon warning and also earthquake. He was also doing very long hours.

Would definatley love to take ds travelling tho, he as asked to go to the rainforest, africa, australia, new zealand.. actually anywhere interesting in terms of wildlife for him! Think he will end up working with animals.

Speaking of animals.. I am not alone.. Saw a mouse try and sneak into lounge.. completely freaked and started a thread about it. Baby listening thing has now arrived from argos so going out to find mouse killing/cathcing stuff.

Stuff always happens when dp away and not herer to rescue me!

mixedmama · 31/08/2007 14:10

MotherofZ · 31/08/2007 14:25

gosh MM your family have been all over the place. What's a Barber?

MotherofZ · 31/08/2007 14:25

sorry meant Berber?

mixedmama · 31/08/2007 14:27

Tribal group - mainly North Africa. Turkey is derived from nomadic tribes you see hence the differences in complexion etc of people from different areas.

OP posts:
mixedmama · 31/08/2007 14:28

And also geographic differences from the countries that border Black Sea, to countries that border Levantine.

Sorry waffling.

MotherofZ · 31/08/2007 14:42

Want to go on holiday now..!

gingeme · 31/08/2007 14:55

Hi me again. Right the October ladies have said thats fine. So its 19th Sept, Picadilly Circus Pizza Express. Trouble is what time? I know some of you have said an evening meet up which is fine with me. But what do you ladies call evening?

mixedmama · 31/08/2007 14:57

Well I guess anytime after about 5.30 - 6.00 as I guess most people are saying evening as they will be working.

OP posts:
fluffymummy · 31/08/2007 14:57

Yup, happy to meet the October ladies...they'll make me feel nice and thin!! But could someone explain the connection? I'm confused!!

Neuro, ROFL at your long term strategy. I'm struggling to think beyond the next 8 weeks, during which time we should have a) finished loft extension including actually choosing and purchasing bathroom, tiles, paint etc etc b) I should have been promoted (hah!) c) I can tell work I'm pregnant and start wearing comfortable clothes d) we'll have been on holiday for a week (hurrah!).

DH and I had a slightly miserable moment a few weeks ago when we worked out that our next proper trip (more than 3 weeks long) won't be for about 20 years (he's not up for travelling with young kids!)...I know we're very lucky to have spent about 18 months travelling around and working abroad together before we settled but it left me with totally itchy feet!!!! If we have a 3rds one after this, then there's a long time to go before we can go off on extended travels. I've told him he needs to stay fit so we can both still go trekking and travelling with backpacks in our 60's

fluffymummy · 31/08/2007 14:58

Gingeme - could we make it 7-ish please? I don't finish work until around 6pm and it will take about an hour to get to Picadilly....

beller · 31/08/2007 15:14

Neuro - Must admit everyone has said im glowing too and that pregnancy suits me..have quite a neat bump..and big boobs and no-one to appreciate them hahaha Im sure if I did I would feel sick , have greasy hair and not want them anywhere near me! Im 23 weeks today? whats your due date again? must be close? Or are we the same? I had my scan on Wednesday, I could have found out..but didnt..didnt know I had that much willpower!!

gingeme · 31/08/2007 15:21

7ish ok. Sorry fluffymummy my ds4 was born last October and I am on that thread and we havnt had a meet up in ages and you ladies wanted a meet up too so my DH suggested we all meet up together he has his uses sometimes.
So so far we have 7 pm 19th Sept Pizza Express Picadilly circus.
