Hello Everyone!

I am due my second baby on 27th June 2020. I thought I would start a separate thread for those due at the end of the month as I don't know about you but I feel a bit left behind in the June thread Grin. Maybe we can have people from 20th June to 4th July in here? Then we will all be super close!

Maybe we can comment with a bit of info so I'll start:

Due date: 27th June
Baby: #2
TTC cycle: 6
Symptoms: nausea when hungry and hot flushes

@Bikbikmum it’s pretty much a big form you’ll fill in with your midwife. They’ll ask you your medical history and for any relevant family history (they asked things like did any sickle cell disease, other blood disorders or congenital problems run in the family, did me or my husband have dislocated hips when we were born, stuff like that). Mine also took blood to test and did a co2 breath test which is apparently the new thing. She also talked me through how everything works in the trust - when appointments are, who to call with any concerns or problems. Useful phone numbers. We did talk a little bit about what kind of birth I’d want but that’s because she was telling me that after my third degree tear with my first born, I would be offered an elective c section if I wanted (don’t think I’m going to, pretty much decided on another vaginal birth if baby plays the game).

My appointment was about 45 mins, and she gave me my notes to carry round to all appointments etc.

Obviously if you have any questions it’s a good time to ask too!

PassTheWater · 26/11/2019 06:45

@Bikbikmum, No, they just go through your medical history and then dip your urine and take some bloods and blood pressure. The midwife I had was lovely. Though give yourself plenty of time, the appointment takes about an hour and mine was running almost 40 minutes late. Very hard to explain the time out of the office when no one yet knows I’m pregnant!

PassTheWater · 26/11/2019 06:48

Sorry @Magpiefeather- didn’t realise you had responded which was a lot better than my response! 😂

@bubblesqueek- congratulations and welcome!

bubblesqueek · 26/11/2019 08:04

@2fingers22018

Bikbikmum · 26/11/2019 08:13

@bubblesqueek welcome :)

@Magpiefeather @PassTheWater thank you so much, that's very helpful. We will go with DH. Luckily, I told my situation in office (to hr and my director) so they let me off today which is very kind.

LassoOfTruth · 26/11/2019 09:37

@Mrssunshinexxx I know! Having had 2 (very very early) miscarriages this year I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but just keeping fingers crossed for a healthy bean at the scan. Seems like a lot of ladies on here have opted for (presumably private?) early scans which would be nice, but I can't spend the money. All being well, we're going to need a bigger house so we are saving like mad! @CornishBumpkin Ooh! We must be due date buddies (23rd June for me). Am sure you'll get your scan date soon!

marmitecheesetoast · 26/11/2019 10:44

Morning hope everyone is going well.

Had my booking in appointment this morning! All went well (it lasted an hour for those asking) and I left DH at home as i knew from last time it’s basically just bloods, urine and a massive form filling exercise! The one thing that did come up that I wasn’t expecting was that apparently my DD was classed as low birth weight for being 2 weeks overdue (she was 6lb 15oz? No one mentioned that being small at the time I don’t think?!) anyway it means they want to do some extra growth scans this time to make sure baby is growing well. I guess a few extra scans isn’t too bad though!

Also got my scan appt for 12th December which I’m pleased about as it’s closer than I was expecting! Smile

mrssunshinexxx · 26/11/2019 10:50

@LassoOfTruth we booked early scan then cancelled it I was too anxious if my dates were out that we might not of seen a heartbeat even though everything is ok if that makes sense. My edd is 23rd June too Grin

Cornishbumpkin · 26/11/2019 11:59

@mrssunshinexxx @LassoOfTruth yay due date buddies Grin I've got my booking appointment today, down here i think they book your scan at the booking appointment. I think my nausea is starting to settle down now, had three days off the anti sickness meds and despite feeling a little nauseas when hungry it's nothing like it was. How's everyone else feeling? X

mrssunshinexxx · 26/11/2019 12:44

@Cornishbumpkin Grin hope my date doesn't change it's my wedding anniversary x

BabyBird20 · 26/11/2019 18:54

@PassTheWater just saw your message about pregnancy pillows! I've started researching them too as currently sleeping on two pillows, hugging one to support my sore boobs and one between my knees Cos of my bad back! Not even got a bump yet!! 😂 I love the idea of the full size horseshoe pillow but not sure there'll be space for me, dh and the pillow!!??
Anyone with any experience who can recommend one? Xx

PassTheWater · 26/11/2019 19:16

@BabyBird20 I’m in exactly the same position as you! Like the idea of the full horseshoe so I don’t need to drag an entire long sausage with me each time I change sides that I’m sleeping on, but also worried it’s going to create an even bigger barrier between me and hubby (bigger than the pillow barrier I already put in front of his face as I can no longer stand his breath coming anywhere near my face 😂)

HL123 · 26/11/2019 22:14

Is anyone else finding the nausea almost unbearable.. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow, had a couple of days last week when it seemed to improve slightly but the last 3 days it's been back worse than ever, every minute of the time I'm awake and vomiting during the early hours of the morning.
I've had over 3 weeks off work on and off now, haven't been able to go to the gym for 6 weeks and really struggling to find anything in life enjoyable while I feel like this.
I am taking meds (I've tried a few types) but I don't think they're doing much.
Sorry for the negative post I've just had enough of feeling like this

Magpiefeather · 27/11/2019 07:03

Yes the nausea and vomiting is really getting to me too @HL123 Sad sorry to hear you’re suffering too. I’ve found that I have to eat something at least every two hours and not go near anything I don’t fancy eating / smelling to avoid being sick . Works most of the time but not all the time. I keep ginger biscuits in my bedside drawer and tend to eat a couple when I wake up about 3/4am, then another when I wake up for the day before I get out of bed. Often stops the empty stomach / bile vomiting for me. May not work for you of course but thought I’d share in case.

Also feel like it’s worse if I’m particularly tired. My theory is it gets worse when there’s a big hormone surge. Had that up and down sickness in my first pregnancy too and although the nausea tailed off around 14 weeks I had the odd random day of sickness throughout 🤢 was hoping it would be a bit better this time!!!

Don’t feel bad taking time off sick from work, if you’re too ill to work that’s all there is to it.

Ooh also Have you tried SeaBands? They don’t take the nausea away for me but definitely take the edge off.

LassoOfTruth · 27/11/2019 11:51

@mrssunshinexxx @Cornishbumpkin yay, due date buddies!

Sorry to all of you struggling with the vomiting. I'm lucky to have mostly just a low-level nausea, which comes and goes and which I can cope with if I snack plenty. On the plus side all I want to eat is salad and fruit! And toast. Lots of toast. I don't remember feeling even this little bit sick with my DD, but could be wrong. Visiting the petrol station and brushing my teeth are now my least favourite things though. gag.

I'll be bringing my L-shaped pillow out of retirement in a while. Last time I borrowed a couple of different types from friends and found that shape the most comfy. I'm very short though, which could have some bearing. Mind you, DH and I were in separate beds by around 16 weeks because of my alleged snoring. Not an option this time, as the toddler occupies what was the only spare room, and the spare bed is long gone. Hard luck DH!

bubblesqueek · 27/11/2019 18:41

Anyone else look pregnant at 9.5 weeks? One day it was flat next I have a belly.. I thought it was just bloating but it's been like this a week? Any ideas anyone ha xx

Bikbikmum · 27/11/2019 20:20

@bubblesqueek I look pregnant since w6-7! DH and I thought that I was expecting twins but then we got early scan and luckily it is only one baby :) am 9+4 today

I have already had maternity pyjamas and will buy maternity jeans shortly.

BabyBird20 · 27/11/2019 20:27

@PassTheWater I'm the same! Get so grumpy with my poor dh for breathing anywhere near me yet I am sure I'm snoring like a beast!! 😂😂

BabyBird20 · 27/11/2019 20:35

@bubblesqueek I'm now on 11 weeks and struggling to fit in most of my clothes now! Not sure if it's officially a bump or if it's that I've got fat as I can't stop eating!! 😬😬

bubblesqueek · 27/11/2019 21:02

@Bikbikmum yeah Iv resorted to leggings the past week ha. Ohh I'm 9+3 Iv just ordered maternity leggings let me know what jeans you decide on and how they are xx

bubblesqueek · 27/11/2019 21:34

@BabyBird20 that's me also haha although I havnt actually put any weight on according to the scales xx

Bikbikmum · 28/11/2019 03:58

@BabyBird20 hahahaha that's true though. 4 am in the morning, and am eating a bowl of yoghurt, so this might not be a baby bump.

@bubblesqueek I have checked H&M but not sure where to buy yet. Certainly, I'll drop a line here when I do my shopping.

mrssunshinexxx · 28/11/2019 07:23

Ladies I'm going to the Trafford centre on Saturday and thought I might get a couple mat bits because I probably won't go again and I think for maternity bits it would be better to try on than order online does anyone know what shops actually stock maternity clothes in ? X

bubblesqueek · 28/11/2019 08:07

@mrssunshinexxx I know new look do, depending on size of the shop, Topshop maybe dunno if it's just online.. Debenhams maybe? Last time I was pregnant I got some from primark for £11 they were the best ones Iv had ha xx

mrssunshinexxx · 28/11/2019 10:02

Thanks @bubblesqueek xx
