Hi ladies,

Looked around for a January thread but couldn't find one so created one instead hehe. I'm currently 16+4. Due January 20.

How are you guys getting on with the pregnancies? How far are you? Whens your due date? Has your nausea gone away? Any weird cravings?

Only 5 months to go guys!

Yes @LifeIsAnArt, another little girl! Smile We had a private scan at 16+1, the little monkey had her back to us and wouldn't budge most of the scan, the only part of her she was happy to show us were her bits! Grin
I'm absolutely thrilled, my toddler has six cousins all close in age to her which is lovely but every one of them is a boy! I'm so pleased to be able to give her a sister. Smile

When is your scan? Mine is two weeks today, I just want to hear that everything is okay and shes growing as she should, its nerve-wracking. Its such a milestone having the 20 week scan, isn't it? Smile

LifeIsAnArt · 15/08/2019 20:32

@PastaSauceHoarder aww a little sister to your DD sounds gorgeous! Your DD is lucky to have so many cousins close in age, too!

My scan is just a couple of days before yours, can't wait! I'd be happy with boy or girl, so long as everything is okay! I'm holding off telling some people until the 20 wk scan. Don't remember myself being this cautious the first time around somehow? I thought I'd be less anxious 2nd time around due to having had more experience but it's simply not true! Confused

PastaSauceHoarder · 15/08/2019 20:51

@LifeIsAnArt Its hard isn't it, I was fine since it was only three weeksish ago that we had our last scan but now the 20 week scan is coming I'm feeling all nervous again! Its because its like THE BIG ONE isn't it, a proper check to see if all is alright. 😣 How lovely that you'll be able to tell everyone soon though! Are you showing much yet? Smile

What do you think about double buggies, do you think you'll get one for your two or not bother?

LifeIsAnArt · 15/08/2019 22:05

@PastaSauceHoarder I know the feeling... my last scan was 13 weeks so I can't wait to see how baby is doing now! First time pregnant I was eager to find out if boy or girl, this time just hoping that it passes all the checks! I'm showing so much earlier this time round and have quite a bump already! What about you? Are you feeling movements yet? I'm feeling something almost daily but there's no pattern yet. Looking forward to those stronger kicks.

At the moment don't think we'll get a double buggy, we have 2 single ones already and I will get one of those wheel boards. Plus DC1 is at nursery full time so I won't be out with two kids much, except at weekends when I'm likely to get help. What about you? Is your DD at nursery?

Lucafritz · 16/08/2019 08:51

Im so impatient to have my 20 week scan and find out what im having!! No private scans close to me that could do it so im having to wait 😤 I'm hoping for a Girl too but either would be a dream come true after 8yrs of trying

PastaSauceHoarder · 16/08/2019 09:12

I'm definitely showing now @LifeIsAnArt, not massive but definitely looks like a baby bump. Smile I've been getting some lovely movements for a while now, lots of wriggles and rolls and proper good little thumps! No pattern here either, though she seems to be awake and moving when I'm lying in bed with DD and trying to get her to sleep. She was really reacting the other night when DH had his hand on my tummy but unfortunately shes just not big enough for him to feel yet!

PastaSauceHoarder · 16/08/2019 09:18

Whoops posted too soon!
Re the double buggy, I'll definitely be getting one, though I don't want to spend a lot since DD will be 2 years and 7 months when the baby is born so she might only get about 6 months or so out of it. Shes not in preschool or nursery just yet and DH is the only one that drives so bunging the two in a buggy will be a necessity when I need to go out! 😂
That makes total sense for you though, it'll be nice that you'll get that one-on-one time with the littlest one whilst your DD is busy at nursery! Smile When do you think you'll take maternity?

Wow @Lucafritz, I'm so sorry you had to go through eight years of trying but how wonderful that you're finally here! When is your 20 week scan? Smile

StephRae · 19/08/2019 11:40

Hi guys, sorry I haven’t been on here much. I’ve been doing a few night shifts at the hospital 😩 hope everyone are doing though!

PastaSauceHoarder · 20/08/2019 12:53

Offt sounds rough @StephRae, hope you're doing well! Smile

Lucafritz · 20/08/2019 12:58

Anyone else getting aches ? Neck ache and back ache for me my bed is just swapped with pillows but its still not enough support on a night 😂

PastaSauceHoarder · 21/08/2019 10:24

Have you got a pregnancy pillow, @Lucafritz? Smile I've got a small one on my bed now thats pretty good and a massive one waiting in the loft that I'll dig out when I'm bigger. Absolute god send when pregnant with my DD!

StephRae · 21/08/2019 21:51

@Lucafritz yes! I have been very achy the last couple of weeks, my back and also my stomach which freaked me out but at my 20 week scan I was told it was probably round ligament pain from my stomach stretching.

Lucafritz · 21/08/2019 22:23

I had some stomach pains last night when i sneezed that scared me but they soon went away 😂 and no pregnancy pillow just lots of normal pillows positioned around me like a pillow fort lucky im single so have the whole bed to myself to position them

PastaSauceHoarder · 22/08/2019 10:01

Ooh I definitely recommend a lovely big pregnancy pillow @Lucafritz, especially if you have the bed to yourself as they're huge! Sooo comfy. Smile

How is everyone doing? I've got my 20 week scan a week today and I keep freaking myself out about it. I'm terrified they'll find something horribly wrong with her. Sad

muddypuddlejumping · 22/08/2019 15:40

Hello can I join please?
I'm 17 weeks tomorrow so due 31st January. Still have a few weeks until my 20 week scan. This is number 2 as we have a just turned 4 year old.
My bump feels huge! Although I'm not complaining about that - well not yet anyway 🤣
Has anyone used a feeding pillow as a pregnancy pillow? Not sure if they are a bit small but don't want to buy something that won't last a huge amount of time as money is definitely tighter this time around.

PastaSauceHoarder · 22/08/2019 15:55

Hi @muddypuddlejumping, congratulations on your pregnancy! Smile

I'm pretty sure my small pillow can be used as a feeding pillow - it feels so long ago that I bought it that I don't remember how it was advertised! Its definitely big enough to sleep comfortably but small enough that it could be used for feeding support, I'm sure that was the idea when we first bought it. I've attached a pic (please excuse how grubby it looks, I was using it for sleep even when I wasn't pregnant Blush).
Is there a particular one you've got your eye on? Smile

muddypuddlejumping · 22/08/2019 16:04

Thanks @PastaSauceHoarder
Last time I had a long, maybe full length one but got rid of it as it just took up sooooo much space afterwards.
I was thinking something like this. I didn't have one last time but did have to use lots of pillows so wondered if it might work for both purposes this time!

PastaSauceHoarder · 22/08/2019 16:39

Ah I'm not sure @muddypuddlejumping, perhaps you could buy it and try it and return it if its not great for sleeping? Can you return things like pillows, I'm not sure?

Though it definitely looks like it would be good for feeding! Smile

LifeIsAnArt · 23/08/2019 10:17

@PastaSauceHoarder how lovely that you're feeling quite a lot of movement already - that must be somewhat reassuring, no? I can only feel proper kicks once in a few days, the rest of the time the movements are not that obvious at allConfused I wonder if the placenta is in the way. I don't actually remember how much movement I felt at this stage the last time I was pregnant, but I guess every pregnancy is different! Also can't wait for the scan next week, wish time could go faster...

LifeIsAnArt · 23/08/2019 10:18

@Lucafritz I second getting a big fat pregnancy pillow! It's saved my back both times I've been pregnant, makes such a difference! I've a U shaped one which takes up quite a lot of the bed, but definitely worth it!

StephRae · 23/08/2019 21:56

@Lucafritz I also 100% recommend getting a pregnancy pillow, I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it but got one anyway and they are so comfortable (way more than regular pillows in my opinion). I can even see me using it after the pregnancy 😂

Lucafritz · 24/08/2019 21:16

Officially become to big for my normal underwear 😂 onto the maternity pants it is im only 18 weeks i feel huge! Blush going to order a pregnancy pillow too I'll probably use it after birth instead of my million pillows i have now

PastaSauceHoarder · 25/08/2019 21:16

Urgh I'm desperate for time to go faster and get to the scan @LifeIsAnArt, I keep worrying myself silly! I did do a little research and apparently the chances of something being REALLY wrong at the 20 week scan is something like 1%, so the odds are really in our favour.

Haha I got DH to dig out my giagantic pregnancy pillow from the loft yesterday, he popped it in the wash for me and I was sooo comfortable last night! Grin Though I'm seriously feeling big now, getting to the point where turning over in bed is a hassle...

Oh gosh @Lucafritz, time for some new underwear? BlushGrin

How is everyone getting on? Smile

LifeIsAnArt · 27/08/2019 11:39

@PastaSauceHoarder just thought I'd update after the scan this morning. Relieved that all was well, and little one was moving about lots (thanks to the cold drink and choccie I had just before going in! Grin) also found out I have anterior placenta so that explains why movements have largely been dull and not so pronounced. I think I can finally relax a little now!

Sending lots of positive vibes your way for the scan later this week! Let us know how you get on.

PastaSauceHoarder · 27/08/2019 14:47

Brilliant news, @LifeIsAnArt!! I'm so pleased all is well. Smile Very interesting about the anterior placenta as well, at least you can relax and know that everything is going as it should!

Did you find out what you're having as well, or have you decided on being in Team Yelllow? Smile
