32 weeks today and also feeling like I'm on the home straight! Christmas is going to go super quickly and I'm not back til 6th Jan. Then 3 weeks of work and I'm off!! It's come around so fast this time.

Starting to get a bit Shock about the thought of being in labour again and how am i going to get this baby out!!

My daughter was very poorly when she came out and I didn't get to hold her for a week as she was in NICU so I'm really really hoping for a positive experience this time.

doublebarrellednurse · 22/12/2019 18:09

So my friend who was a week ahead of me gave birth two days ago at 32 w 😳 baby is doing very well but I'm now feeling highly underprepared

LolaLollypop · 22/12/2019 19:52

Oh my goodness @doublebarrellednurse what happened? Why did baby come so early?

doublebarrellednurse · 22/12/2019 20:43

No real reason just came! She's had a rough pregnancy 🤰🏻 ivf baby after years ttc he's doing really well but they've had to go out of area as no neonate beds locally

Ginny1234 · 23/12/2019 20:12

Anyone else running out of energy? I think it's partly because it's Christmas 🎄 and I'm not at work, so I've physiologically powered down because I can. Still have lots I want to do though and places to vist, people to see but not got the energy to motivate myself. Keep nodding off like an old lady too 😆
Just a bit concerned that the less I do, the less I'll be able to do and still got 6 weeks to go!

LolaLollypop · 23/12/2019 20:17

@Ginny1234 me!! Every day at about 5pm lately I've had a headache and feel sooo tired. I think I've been rushing around a bit too much in the run up to Christmas. Need to remember to drink water too to make sure I'm hydrated.
My husband also seems to think I'm fully fit to do everything still "oh can you pull out the sofa and look for xxx"... err no I can't!!!
Bending down is getting harder and harder and I'm out of breath if I do too much now.
I'm also really struggling with food - if i eat too much I'm app uncomfortable. God knows what's going to happen the next few days, I really love my food, especially at Christmas!

@LolaLollypop you sound just like me - in fact, my husband just asked if I could stand on a chair and hold up the end of a shelf while he drilled it in. NO!! I can barely stand, sit or lay down without it being a trauma! So much gaviscon, I'm scared the baby will come out the same shade of pink 💕

45andfine · 25/12/2019 17:07

Merry Christmas! You're all sounding like I feel, but without the grumpiness!!🙄. Heartburn is ruining my Xmas 🤣. Partner just doesn't seem to understand how painful this baby carrying is!! I love it being inside, but boy I'm counting the days until it's out ( 35 days!!!).

I'm really not sure what stuff in suppose to have got ready, it's got a pram, a cot and some baby grows. Oh and some reusable nappies which look huge!!🤣 My brain is so weary.

bessie84 · 26/12/2019 16:03

hello all. been looking for our thread, seemed to have vanished. or im been a hair head.

happy Christmas ladies.

any early arrivals?

bessie84 · 26/12/2019 16:07

ps: 35+4 here. last growth scan NYE at 36+2 - will get our section date then. so fed up and shattered. ive had a HUGE growth spurt. everything hurts. its like all of a sudden, its hit me. im so slow. I was active last week.
28 week scan 3lb 1oz
32 week scan 4lb 11oz
dreading 36 week one. im having a giant baby!

45andfine · 26/12/2019 16:13

@bessie84 I feel your pain! I'm 34 weeks today and app says baby is 5lb, feels about 10lb!!! I don't have my growth scan for another 3 weeks, let me know what your baby weighs next week! They booked my section in at last scan. Do you have a preferred date?

bessie84 · 26/12/2019 16:16

I keep thinking same, im easy having a 10lber with how I feel lol.

they've said between 37 +38 weeks, depending on which consultant I see. just get this baby out :-D

hazandduck · 26/12/2019 19:12

Merry Bumpmas everyone!! I am the same, 34 weeks today and soooo uncomfortable!! Out of breath all the bleeding time and feel massive. I asked DH to just buy me work out gear for Christmas so I can focus on getting fit when the baby is born - I cannot wait to have my body back and be able to run and leap about again! Looking at all my clothes that don’t fit makes me sad lol.

I feel like my nose is stuffy all the time too, wtf?!

It is very exciting though that in the next few weeks our babies will start making arrivals 😬 We are taking our tree down tomorrow very early so we can start going through all the baby stuff in the loft as we have done nothing to prep for baby no 2, except buy our toddler a new car seat! Got to get washing everything, buy a new Moses basket, wash all the newborn clothes. The smell of Fairy just reminds me so much of that excitement before I had DD I love doing all the newborn laundry!

Happy Christmas to all :) xx

hazandduck · 26/12/2019 19:13

Oh and I must must must pack my hospital bag by next week!

Ginny1234 · 27/12/2019 04:56

Perineal massage 💆🏼‍♀️- anyone done this with success?? I've got two problems with it. 1) I don't want to, and 2) I can't reach. If it actually works though I'll suck it up but can't be bothered with it if it's just a myth.

lovesT · 27/12/2019 07:39

@Ginny1234 this is my first baby so can't talk about success but I have bought some sweet almond oil (one of the oils you can use) and will be doing it. I have kind of started but only just 33 weeks and everything says to start at 34 weeks so will do it properly in next few days. I just think why not give it a go? 🤷‍♀️ apparently it can really help.

Had the place of birth talk with midwife on Tuesday- is anyone going anywhere other than a hospital?

I hope you all had a good Christmas! 🎄

45andfine · 27/12/2019 08:49

Hospital Bag!!! Totally forgotten what goes into it! Do I need breast pads right from the start? Vaguely remember milk taking ages to come in post c section. I'm planning on making my own reusable baby wipes too, anyone else tried this? Or had any concerns about using them in hospital situation?

@ginny1234 I have friends who swear by the perineal massage, but not sure you should do it against your own wishes!!!

Dweebette · 27/12/2019 09:04

Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing Christmas! I'm 31 weeks today and the bump did another "pop" yesterday so is now huge and higher and rock solid. Have been getting a lot of headaches this past week, probably due to overindulgence on chocolates! Trying to drink lots of water in case it's dehydration. No swelling so don't think it's blood pressure though if it continues I will get checked (was checked a week and a half ago, all fine). Have started a hypnobirthing course and really enjoying it, it's actually making me feel so excited to meet our baby! Got some lovely baby things for Christmas too so can't wait to start washing and getting ready but need some nursery furniture first as no where to put clothes

LolaLollypop · 27/12/2019 09:49

Hi all. I done perennial massage with my first and I'm sure it helped. I think it started around 36 weeks. It is a bit fiddly but essentially all you're doing is massaging the skin around your lady bits to make sure it's as soft and supple as possible before delivery. Kind of common sense really isn't it - if your skin anywhere is dry or tight it's more likely to tear. I had a couple of stitches after my daughter was born but it was really fine! Healed very quickly and minimal bleeding.
There's no real knack to, just rub everywhere you can! Think of rubbing butter all over the turkey the other day, getting into all the knooks and crannies 😆

doublebarrellednurse · 27/12/2019 10:59

Hey all ❤️ we are still celebrating Hanukkah 🕎 so the indulgence goes on 😂

I'm experiencing nausea and palpitations a lot again especially when I eat 😬 I've had about an hour of irregular heartbeat and nausea this morning cause I ate egg and soldiers 😖

Baby is active and movement all the time. It's nice to feel that she's ok in there. I feel like I'm bringing up the rear in this group as not due till the 24th!

Have this week off work at least and am planning to relax!

lovesT · 27/12/2019 18:05

@45andfine I have bought micro fibre reusable wipes from a website called Cheeky Wipes which come in a box with a bag for going out for the day and a bag to put dirty ones in and a scented oil for the solution 😊 really happy with them! We will also be doing reusable nappies. I'd have a look at the cheeky wipe website, they have loads of good stuff if that's what you want to do 😊

Not sure if I had braxton hicks today? Was with my husband in town walking around and my tummy felt tight and uncomfortable on and off. It stopped after we sat down and had a coffee but was a strange feeling! Uncomfortable but not painful.

I'm 33 weeks today so we've been trying to get the last bits that we need and pack the hospital bag which is very exciting!

hazandduck · 27/12/2019 18:51

I did perineal massage with my first baby, I had an episiotomy but healed remarkably quick and it honestly was absolutely fine. I had the little cut because DD was back to back and just had no more room coming out upside down. I’ve still got the oils somewhere and will be doing it again. Anything that can help prevent tearing is good!

Definitely take breastpads and I would also highly recommend that lansinoh cream in a purple tube, and apply it at least 2 weeks before due date if you can. I didn’t and my nipples were bleeding and cracked by the time I was i labour, it definitely made breastfeeding so much more painful. You don’t have to remove that cream before feeding baby, I would say apply liberally before, after and between every feed just keep applying it! My nipples have been leaking already for weeks 🙈😂 wake up most mornings with a lovely wet patch!

Is anyone else starting to fear the birth or is it just me?? God I just want baby safe in my arms and the labour over with!

LolaLollypop · 27/12/2019 19:40

Yes me @hazandduck

After the birth of my first I was a bit like "oh that was okay! What was everyone moaning about!" My active labour was only 6hrs thankfully.

However now I know I have to do it again I am getting a bit scared. A few things went wrong last time and I've got a few other concerns this time so I am starting to worry a bit. They say the second is much easier right, baby just falls out!

hazandduck · 27/12/2019 19:46

Ah mine was similar @LolaLollypop quick active labour, and I had that same “oh what’s all the fuss about” feelings after! Walked on air for months. So I don’t know why I am now starting to feel so anxious about going through it again!!

Haha DH keeps saying that - sneeze and baby will fly out! Here’s hoping!
