@Cupcakes1234 I was team yellow with my first but felt it was a boy all the way through and I now have a stinky teen boy!

We are finding out as hubby can't cope not knowing 😂 I didn't care either way.

Pregnancy has been SO different to my sons I'm convinced it's a girl

ImMeantToBeWorking · 21/08/2019 13:35

@tinatsarina congrats and welcome. Sorry to hear about your MC. it makes things so much more worrying doesn't it? I had a previous MC at 12 weeks for an unknown reason, so I was being so careful this time until I had my scan!!

@ClaireCordell congrats and welcome to you too. It could be a lovely valentine's present for you.

@beccarocksbaby I don't think my DP was expecting the price tag either to be honest!

My DP moved to a job closer to home (he was away mon to fri until a few weeks after I got my BFP). He is super excited about this. We found out yesterday one of his best friends and his wife are expecting. She is 12 weeks currently, and his other best friend's wife had a baby in April so they are all going to be super close in age! This has him even more excited if at all possible!!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 21/08/2019 13:37

DP wants to remain team yellow but I want to find out. I am craving lemon all the time so the wife in the above message (she has 3 girls and a boy) reckons it is a girl. I am hoping for a boy, DP wants a girl as does his sister (they have two nephews already).

Cupcakes1234 · 21/08/2019 13:44

Really? I felt the same first time and just knew he was a boy but as it say absolutely no feeling this time. I'm probably feeling worse this time around but I don't know if that's because I already have a toddler to look after lol. I craved anything sweet with my son funnily enough, this time all I want is salt... like neat salt I really fancy 🙈 I'm sure it'll change and I'll be back to wanting all the chocolate though as I'm mad on sweet stuff anyway lol

ImMeantToBeWorking · 21/08/2019 15:52

@Cupcakes1234 I read yesterday that chocolate and sweets mean girl and popcorn, crisps etc. mean a boy.

It just shows, clearly google is not always right, and that no two pregnancies are the same!

Cupcakes1234 · 21/08/2019 16:37

@ImMeantToBeWorking yeah I've seen that too but I think they are just old wives tales. Filling myself up on veggies with tea tonight and I cannot wait 😋. I feel like I need some goodness today

ImMeantToBeWorking · 21/08/2019 17:24

@Cupcakes1234 They must be! Or you are the exception to the rule!

Most veggies are a no no for me at the min. Can't stomach them!! Stupid food aversions. I would love something like a stir-fry but gag at the thought!

ClaireCordell · 21/08/2019 19:06

Thanks @beccarocksbaby and @ImMeantToBeWorking. We're going to be team yellow. We didn't find out with our first although I was sure it was a boy (and it was!). I've been eating sweets by the bag so in that case it's definitely a girl this time. My husband is less wowed by the whole experience second time around and definitely finding it less pleasant having to do more of the heavy lifting with our 18 month old. So far I haven't given this baby a whole lot of thought, can't wait till I can feel him/her moving. I remember last time it got a lot better after that. How's everyone doing on morning sickness? Mine keeps coming back around 5pm.

bessie84 · 22/08/2019 07:38

Argh. Has anyone else had their whooping cough vaccine yet? Had mine yesterday. Nurse said, might give you a dead arm for a day or 2. She wasnt kidding either! My god. No other side effects, just that. It hurts. But im a wimp 🤣

S082018 · 22/08/2019 08:47

@bessie84 at how many weeks do you have this vaccination? I have my 16 week midwife appt coming up soon, I'm wondering if I'll have it then? Hope your achey arm feels better!

bessie84 · 22/08/2019 09:09

@S082018 - im 17+4... i had my 16 week appt on monday and was booked in yesterday teatime for it. So i gather it will be after your 16 week appt too.
Thank you, it hurts. My tip is, dont have it in your dominant arm. Im left handed and had it in my left arm. Not good 🤣😐 x

PixieLoo · 22/08/2019 11:02

Hello all! Sorry I've been quiet, been quite poorly over this past week with migraines and been feeling completely zapped of all my energy! Feeling better now, fingers crossed just a bad week. Lovely to see everyone going for their scans and finding out genders. So exciting!
I am 14+1 today, currently procrastinating tidying the house for the in laws visiting this weekend... we told most of my close family this past week which was lovely and telling DH family this weekend! Smile feeling a bit nervous about the quad blood test I have coming up for the screening tests, just wishing for a happy healthy baby for everyoneSmileThanks

tinatsarina · 22/08/2019 15:56

I'm 13+1 and I'm so tired!! Thought it was supposed to ease up after the first trimester

PixieLoo · 22/08/2019 18:33

@tinatsarina I can relate! I was so hoping the tiredness would get better after the first trimester but nope! By 8pm I'm ready for bed 😂

Goose4 · 22/08/2019 18:36

Yes, me too @tinatsarinaand @PixieLoo! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and still in bed by 9 most nights!

S082018 · 22/08/2019 21:02

@bessie84 thanks for the tip!
@PixieLoo @tinatsarina I'm 15+2 and I'm always so exhausted as soon as I get in from work! I would love to be in bed by 9pm but it just never happens for some reason 🤦🏽‍♀️

bessie84 · 22/08/2019 21:23

17+4 and shattered too. Still sometimes having afternoon naps when i can 😴 AND im still up in night for a wee, i thought that would improve 2nd trimester. AND still feel sick if i get overtired or hungry.

tinatsarina · 22/08/2019 21:51

I was up loads last night, not to pee or anything just randomly waking up so I'm probably tired because of disturbed sleep.

hazandduck · 23/08/2019 09:14

Hi everyone, sorry I’ve not been on the thread for ages!

16 weeks today. So exciting to think we are all second trimester now! We aren’t going to find out. I knew I was having a boy in my last pregnancy. Just had that feeling, so I bought lots of cute dungarees, even though we didn’t actually find out. Imagine our shock when out popped a girl! It turns out my little girl rocked all the boyish outfits she ended up with ha! Now I just can’t imagine having a boy and think we will have another girl. This is our last but I honestly do not care what sex I have. I think I just like the idea of another girl because it’s what we already know.

How are people’s bumps? Mine feels so big already, Dd is 21 months and always walks past it and kisses it and says “baby, gentle.” She’s obsessed. I’m excited to see her be a big sister.

Does anyone have experience of pelvic l girdle pain? I had it at the end with my dd but I am already in agony every morning! And sleeping with a pillow between my knees. Midwife suggested a pregnancy support belt? It feels so early to hurt this much. It’s hurt since before I even had a bump.

My energy levels have picked up this week though thank god. I have a clean home again 🤣 DH tried but he’s also been working full time and coming in and taking over looking after Dd and cooking most nights when I’ve felt too rough. And nausea is getting better, every other day ish now.

tisonlymeagain · 23/08/2019 09:55

Haven't updated on here for a while. Had my 16-week appointment this morning at the hospital. Baby all fine, got to hear the heartbeat (146) which was lovely and reassuring.

Lots of info though - Got to go back to get the whooping cough vaccination when I have 20 week scan, flu vaccine in October, aspirin now every day until 37 weeks, glucose test and scan at 28 weeks, blood pressure checked every two weeks from 24-30 weeks and then every week after that and two more scans post 30 weeks. Also won't go over my due date so will probably be a January baby!

Feel very reassured and very well looked after!

Cupcakes1234 · 23/08/2019 10:03

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and still getting the nausea but energy is coming back (when I'm not feeling sick). My partner and I are so torn at the moment as I really want to find out the sex of the baby but my partner doesn't and we both seem to be sticking to our guns. It's already driving me mad so I can't imagine what I'll be like in another 20 weeks time!

Ginny1234 · 23/08/2019 11:14

Wow @tisonlymeagain that's quite a list of appointments you've got coming up! I'm 15 4 and haven't really thought past 16 weeks yet but I guess that's when it all starts to get more real!
I'm feeling much more normal this week but still sickness in the evening and if I don't eat for a couple of hours. Still in bed by 9pm but I did have enough energy this week to start back at my exercise classes - I think though that's sapped my energy again because i e not done anything for 3 months so need to give myself time to build up a bit of fitness and lung capacity again. Feeling much better for it though.
Just waiting for my NIPT and gender results next week and 16 week scan (but it's actually at 17 3).

It's nice to hear everyone doing well and progressing nicely xxx
