@lifesnotaspectatorsportaww congratulations, everyone's favorite type of twins I reckon 😍 how far are you now? Have you sorted a pram?

Camomila · 20/08/2019 10:41

Congratulations @lifesnotaspectatorsport You'll def be able to tell them apart Grin

Feeling a bit sad as I submitted extenuating circumstances forms this morning for all the uni work I have left to do. Don't know when i'll finish my MSc now.

Feeling grateful to my lovely midwife who wrote me a letter of support and my gp who keeps extending my sicknote and giving me more anti-sickness prescriptions.

Janeypi · 20/08/2019 10:59

@Camomila so sorry you're feeling sad but by the sounds of it, it's really the only thing you could do. At least now the form is in hopefully you can stop worrying about it and focus on you and your little one. Hope you feel better soon tho x

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 20/08/2019 12:02

Thanks all - I already have a little boy so it's nice to be having a girl now as I'm definitely done with pregnancies after these two are born!

@SleepingStandingUp ha ha, I was reading your pram thread as I've no clue what to buy. I drive everywhere so having one that's easy to open and close is my priority. Quite liked the look of BabyJogger City twin although it's a bit heavy. I thought one poster's idea to just put both twins in the bassinet of a single pram for the first couple of months was a good suggestion. Or wear one, push one? You get so little use out of the lie-flat bassinets, I'd rather not buy two.

@Camomila Sorry to hear you're still feeling rough 😕 It sounds like what you're doing is for the best, you wouldn't be able to do yourself justice in that course if you feel so unwell. Hopefully you can finish it after baby's born?

Camomila · 20/08/2019 12:39

Thanks ladies, I don't know when they'll suggest finishing...the next exam season is Jan so that's a bit of a no-go. Maybe next May? DS was a great napper so hopefully DC2 will be the same.

It will be good to actually have time to think about DC2, I feel bad as I don't feel very connected yet. All I've thought about all summer is being ill and statistics! DH has a week off in Sept (it was to be used for last minute dissertation childcare etc) but I'll use it to boss him about to organise the baby stuff Smile

Janeypi · 20/08/2019 13:03

My friend who has had a couple of rounds of IVF fell pregnant about 7 weeks ago (via IVF) however yesterday she found out that the heartbeat had stopped and growth had stopped at week 6.

I'm devastated for her, especially as I've had 6 early miscarriages myself over the last 4 years so I know exactly what she's going through. It has made me think I've been getting carried away thinking that everything is ok with mine. That I've been taking it all for granted. I really wonder if everything is ok as tbh I haven't really had any pregnancy symptoms at all. No nausea or sickness, nothing. Just tiredness. I'm so worried now I have booked myself in for a private scan tomorrow (earliest available) to make sure everything is ok and if so, hopefully to find out gender. I'm heartbroken for my friend and trying to support her, but also terrified of what tomorrow may bring.

Camomila · 20/08/2019 13:57

Oh I'm sorry, that must be so tough Janeypi both being reminded of your own losses and wanting to support your friend while being pregnant yourself. Good luck for your scan tomorrow.

FWIW my DM felt completely fine and didn't notice she was pregnant for 3 months. She merrily skiied and rock climed through her first trimester with me.

Janeypi · 20/08/2019 14:33

Thanks @Camomila

All my checks have been fine so theoretically there's nothing to worry about and in fact I was fairly happily waiting for my 20week scan appt to come through. But with this news yesterday I immediately said to my OH that I wanted a private scan. I worry I've been too complacent and assuming that everything is ok. Even shopping for prams when I promised myself I wouldn't even look until after my 20 week scan.

:(

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 20/08/2019 16:53

@Janeypi My heart goes out to your friend. Completely understand why you've booked a scan but do remember miscarriage risk drops dramatically after 12 weeks. Hope you get the reassurance you need tomorrow

Janeypi · 20/08/2019 17:08

thanks @lifesnotaspectatorsport. She's not doing too well at the moment so I'm trying to support her from afar (we don't live near each other these days). There's just nothing I can say that will make it be any better. Just need to keep letting her know I'm here and ready to listen/chat any time she wants... and encourage her not to blame herself, which is what she's been doing. I'm heart broken for her.

Yeah I need to remember the risk drops dramatically but because of my history, the fear never really goes away :(

Kinsters · 21/08/2019 02:05

lifesnotaspectatorsport congratulations! That's lovely!

Janeypi so sorry for you and your friend. Pregnancy after loss is really scary. I've felt a lot more confident since I've felt the baby move more regularly (though I'm still really paranoid something is going to go wrong).

HHG18 · 21/08/2019 06:42

@Victoriaaaaaaaa hello! :-) is it possible to join the Facebook group please? Thank
You :-) xxxx

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 21/08/2019 10:36

@HHG18 I've messaged you c

anitagreen · 21/08/2019 10:57

Hi everyone been away from the baby groups for a whilst as I've been so I'll I'm still being sick daily and I haven't found out what we're having yet, my scan is tomorrow morning I'm hoping girl but I'm convinced it's a Boy! I'm now 20 weeks exactly Shock it's flying by now hope everyone is well x

Janeypi · 21/08/2019 11:00

@anitagreen good luck with your scan! I feel the same, would like girl but I just KNOW it's going to be a boy! My husband has 3 kids, 2 boys and a girl, we need more estrogen in the house!!

...I'm only 17+4 but have booked myself in for an early scan to make sure everything is ok... and get a gender reveal too hopefully :)

anitagreen · 21/08/2019 14:07

@Janeypi ooh good luck I don't blame you wanting a girl I have one of each already but I really would just love one more girl! I remember pressuring my partner into finding out earlier than the 20 week scan and he wouldn't budge on this one, with our others we found out at 16 weeks lol x

Janeypi · 21/08/2019 14:36

@anitagreen my scan is at 7pm this evening so I'm getting nervous now! My main priority is to make sure everything is ok - my friend had a scan at 7 weeks on monday that showed that her little bump hadn't survived. I've had 6 previous miscarriages at around 6/7 weeks so I'm much further on now but her news has given me the fear!

Hopefully all will be ok and then I can be excited about finding out what flavour we've got. So I'm scared and excited all at the same time!

Since my hubby has been through this 3 times before he's letting me make all the decisions :) :) :)
This is my first pregnancy and will be my last... I only want one and I think my hubby having 4 kids is more than enough! We're going to need a mini van as it is! :D

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 21/08/2019 15:18

@Janeypi Good luck for your scan later!

Janeypi · 21/08/2019 20:59

I've had my scan and all was fine.... Thank goodness

I'm having a boy!

I'm relieved everything is ok... Tbh was a bit worried. But if I'm honest, I'm a bit gutted not to be having a girl, I've even taken myself off to bed in a silk!. Need to slap myself and stop being silly

He was a little wriggler and the sonographer said he tried every trick in the book to stop her from having a look at his bits... Kept putting his cord between his legs Grin... And playing with his willy!!! Definitely his father's child Wink
Sonographer also said he was the naughtiest baby she'd had today hahaha

mynameisMrG · 21/08/2019 23:13

Congratulations @Janeypi

Kinsters · 22/08/2019 02:37

Janeypi congratulations! Mine is always really naughty at scans as well, she'll shuffle away from the ultrasound and turn her back - got our 20 week scan on Saturday and I'm so hoping we'll get a good picture of her little face!

I'm finding I'm getting more used to the movement now it's becoming more regular. I still don't like when she does big low down kicks though. Anything a bit higher up doesn't seem to bother me as much.

SleepingStandingUp · 22/08/2019 08:22

Glad all is OK Janeypi. I think gender disappointment is perfectly normal. If I'm honest I'm 99% sure we're having more boys and I'm sad I'll never have a daughter. However once those boys are out, it won't matter and in a year you'll never be able to imagine any other child x

Janeypi · 22/08/2019 08:48

@SleepingStandingUp yeah, this is my first and last, my OH already has 3 kids and tbh I've never wanted more than one. So there's no chance of a daughter. I KNEW it was a boy though, I was so sure so I had tried to prepare myself but obviously not enough! I feel better today though and have started telling friends who live far away and planning a gender reveal cake to take to the family BBQ on monday as a surprise for everyone (no one knows we had the scan yesterday!). So that's making me more excited. but I'm not going to be able to buy all the pretty clothes and dresses :(

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 22/08/2019 09:26

Hi @Janeypi So glad all was well. I have a little boy and honestly he's just the most sweet and lovely child. He adores his mummy and I wouldn't change a hair on his head let alone between his legs. Just wait till your boy is born - he will have you round his little finger! (And not that it matters but you can get some really cute clothes for boys now - John Lewis, H&M, look online too).

Janeypi · 22/08/2019 10:33

@lifesnotaspectatorsport wow H&M's boy clothes are really lovely... I may have to have a little shopping spree today ;)

thanks for the top tips!
