jojo maman bebe also has lovely boys clothes...I don't really need any baby clothes as DSs baby stuff was all pretty unisex but I want to invest in a couple of their babygrows with zips for undressing ease at baby weighing clinic etc.
Actually I'll need cardigans/a pram suit as DS was an April baby and didn't have much cold weather stuff...yay I can shop without feeling guilty about the environment Smile
I think I might spend today dragging out DSs baby stuff and seeing what's there and what isn't.

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 22/08/2019 13:36

@Camomila Oh yes, love JoJo too - but more pricey but they're lush. I theoretically don't need many new baby things as I have most of DS's ... but hey, there are two coming so I just HAVE to in case I run out ... Grin

sodrained · 22/08/2019 13:39

I'm having a boy! X

karryk · 22/08/2019 16:55

Congrats @sodrained Flowers

I haven't had a midwife appointment since I booked in Confused I had an appointment with a consultant at 16 weeks and have my next scan next week, but then there's just another consultant appointment in late October. Is something amiss?? 🤔

SleepingStandingUp · 22/08/2019 17:00

Yeah you should def have had once since booking in and then one around 28. Thry get more frequent as they go on but they've missed one around 16/18 I think

Cannyhandleit · 22/08/2019 20:45

@karryk I am in similar boat, booking in at 6 weeks, 12 week scan, they don't do 16 week appointment here so next appointment is my 20 week scan next week! I haven't met my consultant yet not sure when that will be.

karryk · 22/08/2019 21:53

Hmm...I wonder if they've forgotten about me! I'm sure I had an appointment when I was pregnant with my daughter before the anomaly scan because they were reminding me to get the whooping cough vaccine a few weeks later. I'll have to ring them up 😊👍🏼

Cannyhandleit · 22/08/2019 22:11

@karryk I enquired to see if I was missing an appointment as I was sure if had one with my other 2 but was told no the community midwife wouldn't expect to see me until 24 weeks as it wasn't my first child! I do see the hospital midwife on the days of my scans as I'm high risk I go to the clinic there on those days. My urine hasn't been dipped since week 6 which I thought was very odd as I have to have the gtt in a few weeks so you'd think they'd want to keep an eye on it.

SleepingStandingUp · 22/08/2019 23:33

I see hospital. Ideife so I've dumped community one. One of the GP nurses can do my whopping cough if hospital won't.

Def call and ask Karryk

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2019 10:30

Hello everyone, I'm mega late to the party I'm afraid but was hoping you'd let me join? I've been on various other threads for 'Due in Jan' but they all seem to fall flat and I'm desperate to chat all things baby and pregnancy. Grin

I'm currently 19+6 weeks pregnant (halfway point tomorrow!) and due on the 11th January. This is my little miracle baby conceived only a couple of weeks after a procedure for an induced miscarriage at 12 weeks back in March (a little girl sadly diagnosed with Turners Syndrome).

I already have a beautiful 2 year old daughter and we've found out that our new child is another little girl! She has quite a mighty kick on her already, every time I feel her it feels as if I've won the lottery. Smile

Hoping you'll let me slot in, I'll have a good read through a bit later!

Janeypi · 23/08/2019 10:59

@PastaSauceHoarder Hi there and congratulations! I'm so sorry for your loss but so happy for you that you got pregnant again so quickly and that all is ok this time. You must be mega excited!

This is my first pregnancy... but I'm 41! and I have previously had 6 early miscarriages over the last 4 years (usually at about 6/7 weeks). This one was a bit of a surprise one as we'd only just moved house and weren't really trying after having miscarried 2 months previously but this is the one that has stuck! I'm 17+6 and I found out on Weds that I'm having a little boy :)

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2019 11:39

Hi @Janeypi, thanks so much! We're utterly thrilled. Smile We were really shocked intially, I didn't think in a million years that I'd fall pregnant again so quickly. I'd started taking ovulation strips in preparation for trying again a few weeks after the procedure, it was only when every single one of them gave me a blazing positive each day did I start to get my suspicions. Turns out I was already pregnant!

My goodness it sounds like you've had a tough last four years. Flowers How wonderful that you're now expecting a little boy though. What a beautiful surprise, especially after the stresses of moving house!
Did you have a private sexing scan on Wednesday? Smile

Janeypi · 23/08/2019 11:57

@PastaSauceHoarder hahaha fantastic! Such a happy ending... Or beginning depending on how you look at it! They do say you're really fertile straight after pregnancy / miscarriage :)

Yeah this was a total shocker so when I got a positive test I hadn't even told my oh that I was doing a test and I work him up by throwing it at him and saying "here we go again" and I got back into bed in a strop! I was so convinced it would be the same old story... But this one kept going and going and here we are looking at pushchairs Grin

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2019 12:08

Thats so lovely @JaneyPi, you've clearly got a strong and determined little baby in there! Its nice to be at the point where we can actually look and buy the big purchases, makes it all seem so real. We ordered our pram the other day, unfortunately I got a message through saying that they couldn't find our address so we'll have to contact them and blah blah blah. 🙄 But, still exciting!

Is there a particular pram you have your eye on right now? So easy to get lost in it all. 😂

Janeypi · 23/08/2019 12:15

@PastaSauceHoarder I've been trying to hold off buying anythign until the 20 week scan but now we've had this scan at almost 18 weeks and we've found out gender I feel like it gives me free rain ;) I may have bought some baby clothes yesterday ;)

I've been looking mainly at the Oyster 3. I really love it... feels compact and easy to push, folds down quite compactly and easy to take the seat off... it can also deal with rough ground quite well which is quite important to us... we have 2 dogs and we live in the countryside at the back of a farm Grin!

We were also looking at the mama and papas ocarro because it's quite rugged and deals with rough terrian really well. But It is more bulky, heavier and I feel it's a lot more faffy to get the seat off... but that could be solved with practice. So I'm a bit torn. It's a minefield out there!

How about you? Got your eye on any?

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2019 12:45

Oh gosh, I've bought loads of little bits already, they're all crammed into a big plastic bag. Grin Like you I feel like I'm allowed now since we know what we're having - once you start collecting up stuff its hard to stop!

Ooh I've never had any of the Oyster prams but I have heard good things. Sounds like you live in a lovely area!
We have ordered the Joie Twin Aire (I think its called), its a double buggy apparently good for newborns and toddlers. My DH drives but I don't so a double is totally needed since I walk absolutely everywhere during the day. It was really good price and I didn't want to splash out too much since our toddler may not be in it for TOO long.

Janeypi · 23/08/2019 13:01

@PastaSauceHoarder ah yes of course, you'll need a double! My hubby has 3 kids (ages from 5.5-8) and had a double for them... it was a phil and teds one and he said he hated it as it was extremely heavy... but he'd have bought that a few years ago now so I'm sure things have come on a bit since then.

Yeah we're really lucky to live where we are. It's a barn conversion that's surrounded by fields so very quiet and it's all on one floor so no stairs for little people to worry about :) Lots of hard floors tho which will be a bit scary

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2019 13:42

Ahh that sounds lovely, sounds like a great place for a child to grow up. How are your DH's kids, are they excited for their new little brother? Smile

My little girl has a very loose grasp of whats going on, she seems to understand the whole 'theres-a-baby-in-mummys-tummy-so-be-gentle' thing.

lmason17 · 23/08/2019 14:09

@PastaSauceHoarder hi there, due date buddy! Also a little miracle baby after a loss in February!

Janeypi · 23/08/2019 14:27

@PastaSauceHoarder it was really funny telling the kids. We had taken them on holiday and the first day of holiday I was 12 weeks so it felt safe to tell them... When the hubby asked how they would feel about a baby brother or sister the eldest asked "from an orphanage?" Grin So funny

The middle child is super excited and is been a gerat resource for thinking up names! Grin

The youngest child tends to be the quietest so her reaction has been much more muted.

But other than that I don't think the news has really sunk in for them tbh. They don't live with us so my worry is that they'll be jealous or feel replaced in some way so I aim to try to keep everything as much the same as possible and include them in as much as possible.

It's lovely that your two will be so close in age. I grew up with a brother 6 years older than me so he was never interested in doing anything with me but now they're older my hubby's kids all play together and keep each other entertained which is useful... it's slightly more of a handful when they're younger esp when there is 3 of them! Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 23/08/2019 17:06

Welcome @PastaSauceHoarder there's also a facebook group if you want it, just message @Victoriaaaaaaaa

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2019 21:16

Wow @lmason17, thats lovely! Congratulations! Smile You're also due the 11th? Thats exciting!!

Haha @Janeypi, from the orphanage, thats cute. Grin They sound like lovely kids, what a good idea to include them as much as you can, they'll probably love that once your little one comes. I love that the middle child has been helping you with names! Have you picked anything definite yet? Smile

Thank you, @SleepingStandingUp. Smile Ooh yes I should like to join the Facebook group, I'll message her now - shall I just tell her I want to join and send her my real name or something?

SleepingStandingUp · 23/08/2019 21:19

Yeah x

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2019 21:33

Thanks @SleepingStandingUp, just messaged her now! Smile

How is everyone coping with the heat? I cannot get comfortable tonight. Every position I lie in baby makes it clear they aren’t happy. Just want to sleep through the next few days until the temp drops
