I’m so tired this weekend. Feel totally wiped. It’s like being in the first few weeks again

Cindy61 · 11/08/2019 14:27

@Janeypi I'm a first timer too. I started to feel the movement couple of days ago at 17+4. It probably took me two to three days to make sure that was it, not cold water going down or hungry...Smile

Janeypi · 11/08/2019 14:43

@Cindy64 how exciting! I can't wait... I keep thinking that maybe I have felt something but tbh it probably really is too early yet. But so good to know that you felt yours so early Smile

raligator · 11/08/2019 15:38

@JaneyPi I’m now 20+1 and have only felt a couple of small flutters that I’m guessing are baby, but I only felt it for the first time a few days ago and then nothing again until this morning. I seem to be one of the later ones! I was also warned by my midwife that some people don’t feel it until around 22 weeks with first baby and if the placenta is near the front it may be even later!

Janeypi · 11/08/2019 15:47

@raligator I've read it can even be as late at 25/26 weeks for 1st timers!

It's been strange for me cos I've not really had an symptoms... I know is house feel lucky but it's difficult to not start thinking the worst

LouP1989 · 11/08/2019 18:39

I didn't feel my first DD until I was 23 weeks and even then it was small movements

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 12/08/2019 07:49

I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and I feel a few little pops and rolls now and again when I'm lying down. I felt movement about the same time with my first too. It's like a big bubble popping in my belly, quite different to wind.

SleepingStandingUp · 12/08/2019 14:06

How did my fellow campers get on?

We had every weather possible I swear three times a day!! Harder work than expected as work site was 20 minutes away on foot through mud, so if you worked morning shift and evening shift and went to arena in tbe middle it was 2 hours of mid tramping!! Got tent etc all down in the dry thank god

Camomila · 12/08/2019 15:58

Checking in.
Had my 16 week appointment today, midwife was a bit worried about my iron levels and sympathised with my hyperemisis as she had bad morning sickness too.

I thought I could feel baby moving but he/she is right by my pubic bone (she had to look quite low for the heart beat) and i've been feeling stuff nearer my ribs - probably my gurgling tummy!

Sweetooth92 · 13/08/2019 11:31

20 week scan done-seems crazy to think it’s already at the halfway point. Another boy for us so we are delighted, will be lovely having two fairly close together (DS will be almost 2 when baby arrives!)

I felt it kick for the first time last night!
18 weeks and 1 day, first pregnancy.

I wasn’t sure at first if it was really kicks or a muscle twitching, but it’s moved around and been very lively this morning. Little popping sensations, soft taps.

This is amazing!

turquoiseturtle · 13/08/2019 13:46

I think this was quite early to feel it in a first pregnancy, I wasn’t expecting to feel anything until the 20 week scan at least!

Janeypi · 13/08/2019 15:00

@turquoiseturtle ooo that's so exciting! I'm still only 16 weeks so still a while to wait I reckon!

karryk · 13/08/2019 16:52

Yay @turquoiseturtle ! Isn't it lovely? Mine only seems to get active after a sugary drink...lol. I'm hoping that means he or she will be a fairly lazy baby...God knows how I'll cope if they're as active as my DD 🙈😬

Does anyone else get cramps in their calves at night?? They're a killer 😖

turquoiseturtle · 13/08/2019 18:14

@Janeypi I didn’t feel anything at all at 16 weeks... in fact there was a stage at 16-17 weeks when I really didn’t feel like I was pregnant, because the morning sickness had all gone and my body didn’t seem different from before. Then suddenly, almost overnight, a bump appeared and now it’s kicking! I guess it is different for different pregnancies but hopefully you will feel something exciting soon.

@karryk good to hear from you, glad things are going well. Mine seems quite lively today, gone from ‘did I really feel a kick?’ yesterday evening to hopping around all over the place. It’s such a bizarre feeling!

Haven’t had leg cramps but have started to get an annoying sore lower back, any suggestions anyone? I’m doing yoga, and am going to ask for a work station assessment in case my desk is the problem.

Hope everyone is doing well xxx

SleepingStandingUp · 13/08/2019 19:14

Retroverted and floppy uterus is not making my scans any easier lol
Kids are fine, just playing up so no leg meaurmenets and other measurements are a bit rough

@SleepingStandingUp Glad to hear all is well! Was this the rescan you mentioned?

I have my 16 week scan next week (actually 17 weeks due to holidays) - looking forward to seeing the bubs again and hopefully find out the sex too 🤞

SleepingStandingUp · 13/08/2019 20:45

No the rescan was a fortnight ago and found the things they couldn't see the week before. This is jsut my routine fortnightly one.

Anyone else been signed up for a study on BP monitoring? First-time mums, older mums, twins etc as study groups. I'm assuming its fairly countrywide to get the numbers. I got a BP machine for home and have to check it 3 times a week

Kinsters · 15/08/2019 03:10

karryk I was speaking to someone yesterday who said she got awful leg cramps in all of her pregnancies until the final one when she learnt it was due to not getting enough calcium - could it be that causing your cramps?

I'm 20+1 today and still not feeling regular movement. Little kicks and rolls here and there but nothing very consistent. Tbh I don't really like the feeling that much! I mean I love that it's a sign that baby is doing ok but it also makes me feel a bit weird and ill.

mynameisMrG · 15/08/2019 08:07

I’m with you @Kinsters, it’s a slightly uncomfortable feeling. I’d quite like one movement a day for reassurance then quieten down. But then I wanted this with morning sickness too 😂

mummabear18 · 15/08/2019 12:18

I started feeling movements at 12 weeks... midwife asked at the first scan if I had as she said it does happen and I’ve had them daily since... recently it’s changed from flutters to defined kicks, I get about 6-7 kicking sessions a day, sometimes babies arms and legs are going. This is my first

turquoiseturtle · 15/08/2019 12:57

@mynameisMrG oh gosh yes, morning sickness - I was either miserable because I was throwing up, or miserable because I had stopped! So glad that phase seems to be over now!

karryk · 15/08/2019 13:09

Thanks @Kinsters time to get some more calcium then, I think - worth a try! Smile

I'm 19w today..,still getting generally light movement although occasionally I get a strange turning or rolling sensation which is quite bizarre! I can't remember when I started to get strong kicks with DD and it was only 2 years ago Confused

EarthSparrow · 15/08/2019 18:12

I'm 18 weeks and feel a sore throat coming on so I swallowed a drop of Doterra's On Guard essential oil blend. Then it occurred to me that some essential oils are dangerous during pregnancy and now I'm afraid I caused some damage. Does anyone have experience with that blend?

FirstTim3Mummy · 15/08/2019 18:51

I'm 19w today

@karryk snap! 🤗🥰
