*too much Blush

Chuchu14 · 06/08/2019 21:33

Thanks for sharing @Cannyhandleit it's really helpful. In fact thanks everyone for sharing really helps knowing were all going through similar stuff!

Bubblebubble123 · 06/08/2019 21:46

I’ve put on about 9lbs and I’m 18+5. I’m hoping not to put on so much weight this time. I was pretty big on my first and found it really difficult to lose weight afterwards. There was about half a stone that did not budge so I’m carrying that along with whatever I put on this time!!!
Starting to feel proper little kicks now and it’s so nice to finally be at this point! I was getting little flickers but not really sure if it was baby or gas going on in there but today for sure I felt movement. Was so lovely!!!

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 06/08/2019 21:47

@Chuchu14 I breastfed my DS after a c-section with no problems at all. I was advised to try expressing colostrum in the week before my op (google it!) which possibly helped. My milk came in by day 3.

Chuchu14 · 07/08/2019 08:00

Thanks @lifesnotaspectatorsport I think one of my fears with a section is recovery and being able to feed baby, so your experiences are really useful and certainly making me feel less unsure about it all!

Bubblebubble123 · 07/08/2019 08:44

@chuchu14 I also breastfed after my section. Took a couple of weeks to get the hang of it but wouldn’t say the section had anything to do with the issues we had in the beginning. Ended up feeding him for 17months after so it’s definitely an option for you and baba!
My recovery after the section went fine too. It took a while and I definitely needed the 5 nights in hospital. I’m in awe of the pp that said they were out within 24 hours! That’s unbelievable! I couldn’t even walk for a day and even then for a few days, just to walk to the bathroom was difficult. The recovery can be longer with a section and that’s why I don’t want one this time. I will have a 2 year old to look after as well as a newborn. But my doc said you do about 80% of your healing in the first week and as long as you mind yourself and don’t be lifting heavy objects or overdoing things you’ll heal no problem.

Cannyhandleit · 07/08/2019 08:53

@Bubblebubble123 I seem to have surprised everyone with how quickly I was able to get up and about after both of mine. After ds1 I met the paediatrician in the scbu who had been present at his birth and she couldn't believe I'd walked up from the anti natal ward less than 24hrs after he was born, I think I've just been very, very lucky. No doubt I won't be so lucky this time though.

Bubblebubble123 · 07/08/2019 10:04

@Cannyhandleit you really are amazing! If I thought my recovery would go like that I’d be booking in again!! I’m sure you’ll bounce back just as quick this time!! No reason why you shouldn’t!!

Chuchu14 · 08/08/2019 07:39

Thanks @Bubblebubble123 for sharing honestly this really helps me weigh everything up. I had a vaginal birth but with forceps delivery with my first and it took me 9 weeks to recover Shock I know that's not the usual but the thought of doing that again makes me feel sick!

Woken up with really bad back and hip pain... anyone else struggling already I'm only 16 weeks Blush

karryk · 08/08/2019 10:21

@Chuchu14 I get horrible hip pain at night so have to turn over every couple of hours! Have been fine during the day though - I was definitely more achey with my pregnancy with DD, yoga and stretches really helped.

I'm giving in and getting my pregnancy pillow out of storage today - I need the support! Grin

I was released the day after my c-section last time around - felt tender for about a week but was off painkillers by about day 3 and driving etc about 6 weeks later (played it cautiously). John Lewis do some hideously expensive but very good c-section knickers that apply some gentle pressure to the area so it doesn't feel like your guts are going to fall out Blush

MrsM18 · 08/08/2019 16:27

Another positive C section here 🙋🏻‍♀️ like @Cannyhandleit I had a baby in NICU, and was up & about on the same day - walking to & from NICU aided my recovery massively. So I'd say anyone who has one be active ASAP!

Also another positive BF story - still BF DD now at 2 years old - i didn't get skin to skin nor try boob until 6 hours after birth but she got it nearly straight away.

All that being said I think I'm going for a VBAC this time!

Ceejay19 · 08/08/2019 18:12

Another positive c-section story here. Mine was an emergency after failed induction and I was walking by day 2, home 48 hours after he was born I think. I was walking round a national trust place within 2 weeks and to our local cafe within the first week.
I'm not sure if I am trying VBAC or going for planned section this time, have told midwife that no one is inducing me though!

Chuchu14 · 08/08/2019 18:42

Ladies you are all amazing! Thanks for all the positivey. I haven't made a decision yet but it certainly helps hearing others experiences. @Ceejay19 totally with you on the induction front!

Hip and back eased up as the day went on. Got a whole body pillow but cant seem to get comfy with it. It's different from the one I used before and just cant get to grips with it... loathe spending more money on another one though!

Lyssa91 · 09/08/2019 06:17

Hey ladies, 18+6 here and I have been feeling so much movement these past 2 weeks. Anyone else? He literally tumbles over and over, it makes me sort of queasy. Babies kicks are wonderful though, here and there. I can feel him startle when I sneeze!

plipliop · 09/08/2019 06:46

@Lyssa91 yes so much movement in week 18!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 09/08/2019 09:24

Don't forget to message me if you want to be a part of the Facebook group!!

Kitten22 · 09/08/2019 21:30

Hi ladies,

Was looking for this group. Thanks to one mum who sent me the link. So nice to see other January mums to be.

I'm 16+5, due Jan 20.
Does anyone use anything for their bump at night when sleeping? It can get quite uncomfortable.

mumsey2be · 09/08/2019 22:14

Hi there, just checking in. Enjoyed reading everyone's updates. I am 19 weeks due date 4th Jan. First baby. I am 40 now but will be 41 when bad is born.

karryk · 10/08/2019 10:17

Still sporadic movement...but definitely upped a bit since crossing the 18 week mark a couple of days ago. Every now and then I get tickles!

I'm still adjusting to my maternity pillow..I'm not sure if it's making my sleep better or worse 🤔

plipliop · 10/08/2019 16:41

@Victoriaaaaaaaa I've PMed you but didn't know what details you need?!

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 10/08/2019 18:16

@Kitten22 Welcome! I've been using a cushion to wedge in the small of my back and an extra pillow or fold of duvet under the bump. Pondering getting a pregnancy pillow but they look like they'd take up half the bed 😂

Soph43 · 10/08/2019 19:10

@lifesnotaspectatorsport pregnancy pillows are just so good though! I’ve had one since 7 weeks hahahaha! Any excuse! Xxx

Mirana · 11/08/2019 03:41

Woken up at 3.30am by fighting cats. On way back to bed, one of my underarms felt itchy- checked and I've just not shaved it?! Apparently in weeks?! My left side is completely smooth, right side having a jumanji moment 😂😂 how embarrassing it must have literally been WEEKS 😂 I can't even blame this on baby brain, exhaustion maybe?! Lmao!

Janeypi · 11/08/2019 10:40

I bought a pregnancy pillow yesterday after lots of bad night's sleep.... Ahhhhh it was so good!

Janeypi · 11/08/2019 10:42

One question I have.... I'm now at 16 + 1 in my first pregnancy, I know they say you feel baby movements later on in your first pregnancy so I was wondering if anyone who is a 1st timer has started to feel anything yet and how far along you were when it started?
