@bridgerjonesdaiquiri how is the job thing going? Do you think you will move? Are you reassured that you'll still get everything you are entitled to?

I feel you on the office chair. I'm part time and someone keeps messing with mine when I'm not here. Takes me all day to figure out the best settings again!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 11/07/2019 12:14

@Stroan you should leave some form of passive aggressive note on said chair that says it’s been ergonomically adjusted for you in pregnancy and anyone messes with it on pain of death

Interviews last week went well and I do think it’s a good move longer term, just the timing is pretty shite. Waiting for our offer letters to come through, meetings with HR etc before deciding plan of attack. I just feel totally in limbo at the moment and I hate it. That coupled with house selling woes and a highly energetic toddler and I feel completely frazzled.

BBell2 · 11/07/2019 12:32

@stroan, @BridgetJonesDaiquiri is right , get a note on your workstation. In my first maternity we had hot desks and a bizarre agenda of everyone enforcing them. I covered the notice on one saying it was mine and not to be touched ever....told HR I would be doing it and no one dared!

Stroan · 11/07/2019 13:03

I think people would die laughing if I did that! We don't even have proper toilets so I should probably be grateful I actually have a seat...

DustyDoorframes · 11/07/2019 13:43

Fun and games @Stroan... v glad it was all good at MAU.
@BridgetJonesDaiquiri I'd forgotten you are moving house too. Too much too much!!! Argh!! Hopefully the job stuff will settle down very shortly and be brilliant???

DustyDoorframes · 11/07/2019 13:44

Re pants, I've only ever selected my most horrid saggy old ones and treated them as disposable having bled all over them...

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 11/07/2019 13:46

@DustyDoorframes haha yes, new job, new house, new baby. I am officially crackers. Yes hopefully the job stuff will go to plan and work out for the best 🤞🏻I’m an impatient bugger though and can’t stand all the waiting around!

happydays00 · 11/07/2019 15:21

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri you're a stronger woman than I am! I'm still recovering from the trauma of moving house two months ago.

@Stroan glad to hear you had a nice nap. Annoying your baby started the river dance when you arrived, they do seem to have a real knack for that!!!

@Megan2018 sorry to hear you are struggling. If you can take a couple of days sick (even after graduation) maybe this would help? Even though you are feeling fine bump wise don't underestimate the toll on your emotions! I just has to log off and leave at 2pm on Monday, I was an absolute mess.

Is anyone else NOT COPING with this muggy weather??? I've been fine but today I am not. My pants are sodden again (sorry guys) and I am just a sweaty mess.

happydays00 · 11/07/2019 15:24

On the point of pants - I can highly recommend Matalan's grannies best. A pack of 5 for £5.

I know my husband is super excited to see the return of these size 16 beauties

strawberrylaces88 · 11/07/2019 16:04

@IVEgottheDECAF I just got a letter from the midwife saying I need iron tablets. Doctors being a pain in the arse about prescribing them without me traipsing so the surgery to hand letter in then traipsing back 2 days later to collect prescription. Was thinking of just getting iron supplements from Asda but they're 14mg each which seems a million miles away from your 200mg x3! Is that right? 14mg isn't going to make much difference at all!

boodles101 · 11/07/2019 16:29

strawberrylaces my midwife phoned my GP surgery directly and they sorted by prescription, I literally just turned up at the pharmacy to collect. Could you call your midwife and ask her to do the same?

Dyra · 11/07/2019 16:59

In the same situation @happydays00.... I can step out of the shower and need another one by the time I reach my bedroom.

Pants-wise I've gone for Sainsbury's range. They're huge and still have stretch to grow into. 😁

strawberrylaces88 · 11/07/2019 17:06

@boodles101 I hate to be a pain to them. Although I've not had to do a single extra midwife related thing so far. Maybe I am due a favour from them! I asked the receptionist if I could email her the letter. She let me, but said I'd need to phone tomorrow to check if she'd received and would be able to deal with Hmm
I might just be able to get into the surgery before 5 tomorrow but then that's still at least Monday for the prescription. In the meantime I'm feeling exhausted and not sure if it's iron related or just general pregnancy tired! 30 weeks, a leaking toilet, a leaking roof and impending wedding (4 weeks tomo) are all hitting me hard this week!

Megan2018 · 11/07/2019 17:07

@Dyra - mine are Sainsbury's too. £5 for 5

@DustyDoorframes My pre-pregnancy knickers all still fit but sit under bump right where a CS wound will be. As I'm sure that's what I'll have I definitely need big knickers!

Megan2018 · 11/07/2019 17:48

Bloody hell, the worry never stops does it!
Went to loo and teeny tiny spot of pink on panty liner. Was about to freak out but am now 90% sure its from an ingrown pubic hair! Nice. Had a look as best I can with a mirror compact in work toilet and I definitely can feel, if not see it. No indication its vaginal.

Going to go home for a proper rummage and see. Baby been very active so am trying to not let my imagination run away with me!!

easterbuns1 · 11/07/2019 17:50

I bought asda and primarks finest high waist black granny knickers one size up. Actually cannot wait to be thin and get back into my wee lacy numbers again and a nice bra!

I'm still wiped out from taking the kids out on Monday! Barely moved off the sofa all week apart from to do domestic stuff and then sit my backside back down again. Never felt so pathetic in all my life!

TheCraicDealer · 11/07/2019 17:57

I've just really scared myself looking at a thread on birth injuries (WHY DID I LOOK), then more specifically about forcep deliveries and the risks involved. I really don't want forceps. I'd rather have a section as soon as things look iffy, but I know they can say baby is too far down the birth canal and forceps are the only way to go.

I don't know how to communicate all this in my birth plan and I'm starting to freak out a bit.

boodles101 · 11/07/2019 18:00

I got the big granny ones from Primark too in a size up. They pretty much cover my entire belly so should be good to wear after csection!

boodles101 · 11/07/2019 18:06

thecraicdealer you could just write NO FORCEPS. Csection if necessary.
For what it's worth, I had forceps delivery and they said they would try a certain number of pulls then go to section if that didn't work. I luckily didn't have any lasting damage from the forceps and very little pain after, no issues with stitches etc.so I was quite lucky. I couldn't tell you any of the risks as although I signed a consent form, it's impossible to take in any information when contractions are constant and you just want baby out!

Fortheloveofscience · 11/07/2019 18:12

I’m stumbling into threads about birth injuries quite a lot Craic, not quite sure how/why. So far I’m staying quite philosophical about it - obviously I’m worried about having lasting damage, but the time to really think about it was before ditching the birth control it’s a bit late now!

The thing that seems to worry me most is how much you’re at the mercy of the skill and opinions of the particular midwife you see on the day...

iano · 11/07/2019 18:19

@TheCraicDealer have you spoken to the MW about your concerns? Might be worth doing. They can also fill you in on advantages/disadvantages of sections. They aren't necessarily a walk in the park.

Hsunshine · 11/07/2019 18:28

I am planning to go into birth in blissful ignorance about all these terrible things that can happen

Megan2018 · 11/07/2019 18:31

@Hsunshine we had quite graphic illustration of forceps, tearing, episiotomy etc at NCT so no chance of blissful ignorance there.
Unfortunately I know someone with long term double incontinence from birth injury. I wish I didn’t, it terrifies me!!

Hsunshine · 11/07/2019 18:32

I am doing serious hospital bag packing now
How many maternity pads and breast pads is a sensible amount? I want to pack enough for two days then I’m packing another emergency bag for incase I have to stay in longer that husband can just pick up and bring in

Hsunshine · 11/07/2019 18:33

@Megan2018 oh no my NCT starts next week! In my head I’m planning for a c section but I’m not sure it’ll be possible
