Congratulations McHelenz! That's so sweet.

Yeah Bentley it seems that way with HG, they'll make sure you don't get dangerously dehydrated but other than that nothing they can do. Must be very frustrating. I'm sooo excited to come home! It's in September so I'm hoping we'll catch the tail end of an English summer.

I always pop any spots I get, as long as you've got the type of skin that doesn't scar super easily and you make sure to get the whole thing out it definitely gets rid of them more quickly. I also love going for facials and find they really improve my skin, not cheap in the UK though and I'm not sure if they're recommended in pregnancy.

anitagreen · 01/07/2019 12:14

@Bentley111 Nothing at all I've just been out in the sun trying to see if that helps and keeping hydrated so far noGrin

anitagreen · 01/07/2019 12:15

My partner also thinks I'm mad for booking to go to Butlins in September around the 2nd for a week I'll be 23 weeks then Shock with two toddlers I'm wondering now if it's silly? But saying that I took my DD when she was 1 on my own and I was 30 weeks then and was fine think I'm just over thinking it

Mirana · 01/07/2019 12:36

@McHelenz What a relief for you, congrats!!! 😁😁 how was it??

@Bentley111 My skin is fking horrific too, I put it down to HG as well. I have awful backne which I haven't had since I was 21 and the skin on my face is red, dry, oily... The whole works!! I have so many spots on my cheeks too. I'm usually a "one big spot at that time of the month" girl so I feel so down about it. They're so angry and raised not even colour corrector+foundation+concealer does much. Feel rubbish about it, really hoping it calms down when I can start to eat properly again!! I am considering changing skin care to something acne targeting.

BowiesJumper · 01/07/2019 12:38

@anitagreen you'll be fine at 23 weeks! I had loads of energy at that point in my last pregnancy.

We're going to centre parcs in November when all being well, I'll be 30 weeks. Might not be hiring a bike on that particular hol...

BowiesJumper · 01/07/2019 12:39

@McHelenz YAY! So glad it went well. Did you get a good look at the baby?

anitagreen · 01/07/2019 12:43

@BowiesJumper Oh my god I couldn't imagine cycling with a big bump I could barely move in my last one I had bad SPD even walking to the shops was off limits haha

Cannyhandleit · 01/07/2019 12:45

@anitagreen we are also going away the 2nd week in sept (haven) with 2 toddlers! I fully expect I'll be shattered in the evening but it'll be nice to get away with the kids while we still can.

BowiesJumper · 01/07/2019 12:49

@anitagreen No I think I'll pass! Haha, my husband can get one with a trailer for our son and I'll saunter behind them. Slowly.

peanutbaba · 01/07/2019 12:53

@McHelenz congratulations hope all went well?

@BowiesJumper I'm off to center parcs in October, I'll be 28 weeks by then. Same feelings as you re- bike hire, I'll just bring up the rear and take in the scenery instead I think 😂

Kinsters · 01/07/2019 13:01

I'm assuming we'll all be feeling that mythical pregnancy glow come September/October... lol

McHelenz · 01/07/2019 13:02

All went great. They've moved my due date until the 9th (this isnt possible from conception so it's just a big baby!!). NT was 1.3 so just waiting on bloods, but we haven't tested for downs only Edwards and Patau x

Jan 2020 - Thread 5!!
BowiesJumper · 01/07/2019 13:59

Aw look at the lovely bubbas! So exciting!

Got my scan on Thursday and I'm shitting it!

winter138 · 01/07/2019 14:02

Awww congrats on the fab scans and healthy, big babies!

I'm 10+1 today and feel 40+1,000,000
None of my clothes fit
I feel so bloated and eughhhh
I bought a maternity dress for work last week but I can't wear it every day...
Even though I feel like it's still too early, I did a few online orders last night as literally cannot cope anymore!

How is everyone else coping? What are your essentials? My work is fairly formal and it doesn't help that I'm 5ft 2 and all maternity stuff seems to just be standard sizing! I live in petite stuff most of the time!! x

megganonion · 01/07/2019 14:19

@Nicky883 looks like a girlie nub to me!! Are you going to find out gender? X

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 01/07/2019 14:20

I've got my scan tomorrow I'm so excited and nervous 😂

OP posts:
megganonion · 01/07/2019 14:24

@winter138 did u try newlook i have a feeling they do petite maternity?

Kinsters · 01/07/2019 14:48

winter138 I couldn't cope without my maternity jeans and loose fitting dresses! I liked wearing loose fitting clothes anyway so my dresses should last for quite a while longer.

The other thing I can't live without is my pregnancy pillow - still don't sleep that well but a lot better than if I don't have it. I've also just bought a memory foam cushion to use at work to try and help my back pain because at the moment sitting down all day is very painful - hoping that'll do the job and become another essential item!

They're not specifically maternity clothes but if you're near a Uniqlo they've got some really nice dresses in at the moment which definitely work as maternity wear (not sure they'll last the whole pregnancy but should get another few months out of them).

Nicky883 · 01/07/2019 15:03

@megganonion yes we are finding out ! I keep comparing my ds 12 week scan with this one but the nubs seem the same to me :p

Missmonkeypenny · 01/07/2019 15:31

Afternoon all! We had our scan this morning and baby is all good! Measuring 4 days ahead but will stick with the same due date (9th Jan) as my hospitals policy is not to change them with artificial conception! Grin

Baby also has no nub! So no one can nub theory, I don’t think...

SleepingStandingUp · 01/07/2019 15:33

All these scans today, I thought we might get a set of twins in there...

DaisyMay25 · 01/07/2019 15:47

@Nicky883 that looks like a girly skull to me!

I'm 13+5 and cannot believe I've actually made it this far!
I'm starting to feel fantastic again, I can eat normally again but smaller portions which I'm guessing is down to my stomach shrinking when I was barely eating. I love fruit though!

Re skin: mine was looking fantastic and I usually have terrible skin but now I have a few spots but I think this is down to feeling horrendous last week. For anyone who likes old wives tales apparently if you have bad skin it's a sign it's a girl because they steal your beauty!

My hair and nails are growing amazingly though!

I bought maternity jeans yesterday, changed my life!

@Bentley111 I'm sorry you're still suffering, I really hope you turn a corner soon!

DaisyMay25 · 01/07/2019 15:48

Glad everyone's scans went well today and I hope to see many more this week 😍
