Welcome to the thread @Hanraa1 my 12 week scan is the same day! I can't wait although I'm slightly nervous 😬

Hanraa1 · 30/06/2019 19:08

@Mumof4andahalf oh how exciting!! When are you estimating your due date is??
I'm a little bit nervy too, it'll be my first ever scan so all so exciting and not knowing what to expect!
Thanks for the welcome everyone 😊

megganonion · 30/06/2019 20:04

@hanraa1 my edd 11.1.20 with baby no4, had my 12 week scan at 11+6 on friday was so nervous beforehand x

Mumof4andahalf · 30/06/2019 20:06

@hanraa it's the 18th at the moment, the first scan is lovely, I'm just a worrier 🤣

Hanraa1 · 30/06/2019 20:32

@megganonion @Mumof4andahalf it is so exciting to hear from people with similar dates!! I've felt so in my own secret bubble these last weeks. I'm beaming!

megganonion · 30/06/2019 21:22

@hanraa1 i know the feeling im not going public for another 4 weeks after gender scan. Our parents siblings and closest friends know, 1 of dh brothers hasnt acknowledged that he knows, they dont speak that often but im pretty sure mil has told him and hes being weird about it. Im so glad i joined a forum this time round has totally kept me sane 😂😂

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 30/06/2019 22:03

I was hoping I wasn't going to get anxiety in this pregnancy like I did my last 😩

Went to a bbq today and noticed the person doing the bbq touching raw sausages etc and he never washed his hands after just wiped them on his clothes!! I had a major freak out inside 🙈

Usually stuff like that doesn't bother me (I'd obviously wash them if I was doing it) but it seems to in pregnancy and now all I can think about is contamination. Hopefully this stops soon!!!

Victoriaaaaaaaa it's hard cause you feel protective of the baby and want to do everything right but obviously can't control other people's behaviour. Apparently it's a proven thing that women get more grossed out by things in pregnancy (at least in the first trimester, not sure about later), so it's normal and a protective thing.

I've been sleeping so badly lately. Can't sleep through a whole night and just end up waking up loads.

We're booking a holiday back to the UK to see my family which I'm excited about, I feel sad that I'm so far away and can't easily share the pregnancy with them. Going to be back home for two weeks from 24-26 weeks which'll be so nice. Not looking forward to the flight though, I normally knock back a couple of sleeping pills and curl up and sleep for the whole 12 hours but don't think I'll be able to do that!

Hello ladies Smile checking in..

42 (yoiks Grin)
DC2 hopefully due around 14/1

I've got my 12 weeks scan on Wednesday and totally anxious about it 🙈 I'm definitely growing so hopefully that's a good sign - pretty sure most of it is gas Blush I look huge by the time evening comes... An starting to feel more human in the mornings which is nice...still can't stand the smell of cooked chicken though or enjoy a nice stroll around Sainsbury's - smell of food etc mixed up does my head in 🤢

Really sorry to hear the sad news for two of our group...I've suffered early losses and it's just heartbreaking. Sending them all the love in the world. ❤️❤️❤️

I've been wearing maternity bras since week 9 now - so ugly 😩 does anywhere do pretty ones?? Do they exist??? Grin

Ceejay19 · 01/07/2019 07:22

Checking in ....

DC2 due on 5 Jan. DS1 will be 4.5 then.

Good luck to the ladies with scans this week.

Botanica · 01/07/2019 07:35

@Victoriaaaaaaaa I've also developed a completely irrational level of food anxiety during this pregnancy and can only have either myself or my partner make food for me at the moment.

I have so many rules about what to include in ingredients, condition of the veggies, trimming the meat, sieving the broth etc it's just crazy. I can tell it's mad as I say it out loud but it's a really strong compulsion right now. Hoping it calms down a bit before he runs out of patience with me. He's been amazing tolerant so far!

Very strange as I've not had any nausea, aversions or cravings but this level of pernickitiness is something else!

Bentley111 · 01/07/2019 09:00

Good luck to those having scans today.

Almost 13 weeks now and this nausea is not shifting. I'm so fed up with it. Is anyone else struggling with their skin? I've got spots, dry skin... the whole works. Not sure if it's diet related where I can only really eat beige food or homornes or both

McHelenz · 01/07/2019 09:28

Scans in an hour. Can't stop wretching and shaking and feel like I could cry at any minute 😔

Kinsters · 01/07/2019 09:38

Oh no Bentley, that sucks that your nausea isn't easing at all. Is your GP being helpful? My skin is ok, about the same as ever (it's never very good).

McHelenz good luck with the scan x

Hanraa1 · 01/07/2019 10:08

@Bentley111 my skin is awful too!! Had 2 or 3 really massive white heads and my forehead is so spotty. I feel like a teenager all over again!

Good luck to everyone with scans today.

Cindy61 · 01/07/2019 10:34

Good luck to everyone who has scan today!

I had a proper cry today. Nausea is back tho no worse than before. I feel so hunger but can't eat much. Seems a million problems need solving at work plus the odd annoying person. My dad text and suggested I should eat more veg and fruits. With all the hormones, I just lost it.

Sorry for the negativity. Really need some sympathetic ears. X

anitagreen · 01/07/2019 10:45

@Bentley111 my skin is bad too and the nausea I'm not eating much st all so I'm permanently tired Sad

McHelenz · 01/07/2019 10:54

I have a baby 😭

Bentley111 · 01/07/2019 11:01

@Kinsters she has been helpful but I just don't think there's that much they can do.
Just saw you're coming home for two weeks! I bet you're so excited?!

Bentley111 · 01/07/2019 11:03

@anitagreen @Hanraa1 oh no sorry you're both struggling at all. Have you found anything that works on your skin right now? I've never ever struggled with skin before, even as a teenager, so a bit bewildered with how to deal with these massive spots!

@McHelenz awww so pleased it went ok x

SleepingStandingUp · 01/07/2019 11:11

@McHelenz congratulations xx

Hanraa1 · 01/07/2019 11:32

@Bentley111 yeah my skin is worse now than as a teen definitely. I'm just using almond oil to wash make up off and a light moisturiser not using anything on the spots and that has helped, less products to anger it!! I think it's just one of those things and trying not to care too much. My sickness has passed so I will take the crappy skin instead any day.
