We bought it in desperation when he was a few days old as he would only go to sleep if he was being held. We wedged it in the snoozepod and he slept a bit better. And also daytime naps downstairs on sofa yes (we didn't have a moses basket).

Hi all,
I’m new here but have lurked for a while! Was a bit superstitious until I had my scan- had it yesterday and measuring at 12w 4d :) baby looking well and due 26th January 2020 :)
Spent all morning trying to work out gender and confirmed I have no idea haha. First baby so all very new and exciting.
Look forward to chatting with you all xx

Hi all, hope everyone's ok, I've not been on for a while but just checking in and seeing how everyone's getting on, I'm 13 weeks tomorrow don't have my scan until Monday and I'm really scared and nervous, is it normal to feel like this? This is my first pregnancy. I had a scan at 7+5 that we paid for privately just to see how things were going and everything looked fine then, could see baby's heartbeat but it was too early to hear it, I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance really, don't really want to talk to DH about how anxious I feel as I don't want to make him nervous too! I feel like I can't get excited yet, I've not gained any weight and haven't got a bump yet so I just can't believe that it's real, my nausea has kind of disappeared over the last week and half, did anyone else feel like this before their scan?
My due date is 25/01/2020

@emmz1712 Welcome! Quite a few of us de-lurking after 12 weeks 😉

I don't have too much to buy and I'm also superstitious so will wait till last minute to get it. We will reuse DS's clothes but obviously with twins we need to get more (ha ha, excuse to buy more adorable baby clothes!). We didn't bother with Moses basket etc last time, just went straight to a big cot. Which is good if you can manage it because then it lasts you two years. Will put the twins together in the cot this time for the first few months at least. I do need to buy 2 baby car seats, a double buggy (ouch) and a baby bouncer. Definitely going for an electronic one this time, almost got RSI in my ankle from the constant bouncing DS required to nod off!

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 19/07/2019 15:53

Hi @MrsP4 This was exactly me with my first pregnancy. Had an early scan around 6 weeks then my second at nearly 13 due to holiday. Symptoms were really mild anyway and pretty much gone by week 12, no bump. Baby was fine and is now a madly energetic 2 year old. Remember it's much more likely that everything is ok than it isn't. I found the miscarriage reassurer tool handy - here's a link: datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

Good luck for your scan 😊

SleepingStandingUp · 19/07/2019 15:54

Double pushchair is stressing me out. I want side by side pram but they're so wide and expensive!!

MrsP4 · 19/07/2019 15:59

@lifesnotaspectatorsport Thank you for that I just had a look at that and it's made me feel a little better my friend also keeps telling me that if anything was wrong my body would let me know which is also true I just think there's always that what if In the back of your mind fingers crossed all is well! Monday cannot come soon enough!

Bentley111 · 19/07/2019 16:32

Can anyone help - I had a letter through today for an appointment at the community hospital (not main hospital/birth centre/my GP/where I usually see my midwife) on the 7th August when I'll be 18 weeks exactly... great, but no idea what it's for 🙈
Letter just says Obstetrics Department/Antenatal.

I called them and asked and the receptionist just said it's an antenatal appt.

It's not my 16 week midwife appt and it's not my 20 week scan. Any ideas what it is? Not worried just a bit confused!

Camomila · 19/07/2019 16:36

Are you consultant led? I'm meant to be having a consultant appoinment at 18 weeks. Although I'm not actually getting it till 7 months Hmm

Bentley111 · 19/07/2019 16:56

@Camomila as far as I know, no not consultant led and can't see any reason why I would be (first baby, healthy bmi, don't smoke etc) but can't think of any other reason why they'd want to see me.

McHelenz · 19/07/2019 17:17

I'm consultant led, I'm not getting an appointment until 7 months. I think it's to plan birth x

McHelenz · 19/07/2019 17:19

@Bentley111 could your midwife be there that day?

SleepingStandingUp · 19/07/2019 17:59

No idea, just take a urine sample, your notes and a good book to read 😂
It could be a general wellness kinda session? Worth calling your midwife and asking

Cannyhandleit · 19/07/2019 17:59

I had a random appointment come through for 28weeks that I had no clue what it was for but I am now going to assume it's for consultant! How hard would it be to put that on the appointment letter!?

anitagreen · 19/07/2019 18:25

@Cannyhandleit it might not be consultant you usually have a midwife appt at 28 weeks x

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 19/07/2019 18:43

@SleepingStandingUp I'm thinking to stack 'em up - twin carrycots like this and a board for my son to stand on (3 under 3 was never the plan!!! Shock)

Jan 2020 - Thread 5!!
Bluebelltulip · 19/07/2019 19:13

@SleepingStandingUp the out and about double nipper is fairly narrow for a side by side.

Cannyhandleit · 19/07/2019 19:17

@anitagreen no not midwife appointment as I have all my hospital ones booked in right up until Xmas eve and the rest I see community midwife at the gp surgery so I think it's either my consultant or fetal medicine. The letters are always very generic and on the app they never update the appointments with who they are with.

Cannyhandleit · 19/07/2019 19:25

Talking about midwife appointments.... they don't see you at 16w here now so you don't see anyone between 12-20w. Is it just me or is that an awful long time?? I guess they probably still see first time mums at that point.

anitagreen · 19/07/2019 19:26

@Cannyhandleit ooh that's a weird one then I hate that app too mine still never gets updated with any of my information at all I miss the green notes Sad

Cannyhandleit · 19/07/2019 19:35

@anitagreen I know I thought the app would be so much more convenient but it doesn't have half the info in it!

Camomila · 19/07/2019 19:49

Speaking of unhelpful NHS letters, I've just had my blood tests through the post and foolishly I had a go at reading them...so now I'm worried I might have thalassemia (sp?) trait... (I thad some extra heamotology tests as I'm from the Mediterrenean)
Got to wait till mid August for my next midwife appointment to ask her what the results mean.

anitagreen · 19/07/2019 20:32

@Cannyhandleit it's shite isn't it I know what my blood tests said now because I asked in person but they wasn't ever updated on the app it's shocking x

Sweetooth92 · 19/07/2019 20:51

@Cannyhandleit I’m on number 2 & here we are seen at 10 weeks, 16 and then at 28. They seem to be very spaced out-not that I mind, saves me waiting for an appointment that’s running 45 mins late to give them a wee sample & be out the door in 3 minutes

SleepingStandingUp · 20/07/2019 00:38

@Cannyhandleit whooping cough injection?

@Camomila call her, it isn't worth the worry
