Haven't been on for a while, just catching up and bookmarking my place!

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 17/07/2019 04:33

@SleepingStandingUp They're di-di twins, my doctor says 70% chance they are non-identical but we won't know for sure unless we see one is a girl or at birth.

I found out at 6 weeks (I'm overseas so they do an early scan as routine) - it was definitely a surprise! They had found one embryo and done all the measurements etc then the OB was moving the probe around, checking my ovaries & cervix, and suddenly she stopped and said 'oh - there's another one!!' 😂

I had been exhausted, falling asleep when I got in from work for 3 hours 😮 so maybe I should have guessed! My DH says he wondered.

What do you mean about being jealous of a twin scan? Would they not give you a photo of both babies together? 😕

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 17/07/2019 04:34

@FirstTim3Mummy I think it's just me and @SleepingStandingUp so far ...!

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 17/07/2019 04:47

I'm jealous of all the lovely bump pics! I still just look podgy apart from my boobs which have BALLOONED 😮

plipliop · 17/07/2019 06:08

I look huge and am really trying not to put on too much weight as I put on so much with my first.

I have my next MW appointment today. It's a bit early as I'm 15 weeks and normally they see you at 16. I'm hoping to hear baby's heartbeat 💗

5 days of school left then Malta 🇲🇹
Can't wait to get some proper rest!

Mirana · 17/07/2019 08:18

Ugh @plipliop Malta is one of my favourite places, enjoy!!

Does anyone else feel super weird about telling people? I told a Facebook group with loads of my friends in today and I feel like I'm jinxing things still??

SleepingStandingUp · 17/07/2019 08:47

@lifesnotaspectatorsportthe first look had the twiglets on it but think we were too shocked to get the photo. Then she checked them out and woke them up then couldn't get them in the same frame. Will try next week before they're too big.
I didn't realise with didi twins you couldn't be sure if they're identical or not.

Mine are mono Di so def matching lol.

How often do you get scans from now on?

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 17/07/2019 08:56

@SleepingStandingUp Yes, my OB says it depends when the egg splits. If it splits very early it can be di-di identical twins. All non-identical twins are di-di of course.

I get scans every 4 weeks here and then every 2 weeks from 32 weeks - very lucky. What about you? Won't you need extra monitoring for mono-di twins?

Hope you get a double scan pic next time! How many weeks ahead of me are you?

SleepingStandingUp · 17/07/2019 09:16

12 then 16 then fortnightly with the consultant so lots of monitoring, yeah my lazy twins didn't split very quickly so thry have to share their placenta which isn't great of course.
I'm 15 weeks tomorrow, don't feel like I have much of a twin bump tho yet. How about you?

coconutlatte44 · 17/07/2019 10:20

Hi everyone,
I think I posted on here a few threads ago (can't believe you're all on #5!) but ended up posting more on a pregnancy after miscarriage thread as was super anxious I'd have to leave another thread (was originally on October 2019 thread until mc in March).

However, just had a really positive 12 week scan on Friday - was measuring 12+4 with an EDD of 22/1/20. Feel like I can breathe a bit now and hope to be more active on here with others due in Jan. They didn't tell me NT measurements but said there was no indication of any issues from the scan, and haven't had a phone call yet so hoping all is well. 🥰

Jan 2020 - Thread 5!!
Bentley111 · 17/07/2019 15:07

Congrats @coconutlatte44

Still feeling like crap 💩 but had a lovely surprise from my SIL this morning - a "treat" box with lots of yummy smelling stuff from Neals Yard so that's cheered me up:

15 weeks today - looking at maternity leggings (just so much comfier than jeans 😩) - can anyone recommend some?

megganonion · 17/07/2019 15:47

@coconutlatte44 congratulations thats a beautiful scan pic x
@Bentley111i got all maternity stuff in new look i dont have any other shops near me that stock maternity!

SleepingStandingUp · 17/07/2019 15:55

@Bentley111 peacocks and new look if you want high Street / try on

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 17/07/2019 16:09

Congrats @coconutlatte44 - it's such a relief to make it to the 12 week scan. Sorry that you had previous losses

@Bentley111 H&M is where I get most of my maternity wear. I think they have a sale on now?

@SleepingStandingUp No proper bump for me yet either. I just look plump and generally thicker at the waist in the morning although by evening I get a bit of bloat bump 😂 Have just ordered some mat clothes though because I'm struggling to fasten my skirts and trousers. Been in maternity bras since 9 weeks though, none of my nice bras fit any more 😭

Bentley111 · 17/07/2019 16:57

@megganonion @SleepingStandingUp @lifesnotaspectatorsport thank you - our new look mat section is rubbish so have resigned myself that it will be online. Will have a look at those x

SleepingStandingUp · 17/07/2019 17:02

Oh someone Said Matalan too if you have one

I got mat tights from John Lewis

Looked in h&m but wasn't ovey impressed but they did at ast have some in. I did get an AWESOME dress from there that was just as xxl which will be fab when I'm huge 😍

megganonion · 17/07/2019 18:50

Spent all day looking forward to spaghetti bolognese for dinner, took 2 bite and started heaving 😥 sat over the toilet bowl now 🤮🚽👎 im blaming the acid reflux on this one ive had it so bad all day, already had 3 pints of milk 2 ranitidine tablets and 2 glasses of baking soda.

SleepingStandingUp · 17/07/2019 20:47

ooh i need to get baking powder to pee in...

Sorry you're feeling cack Megganonion, have you tried liquid gaviscon?

Kinsters · 18/07/2019 02:18

lifesnotaspectatorsport I'm a di-di identical twin! In hindsight it should have been really obvious we were identical - we cut our first teeth and lost our first baby teeth on the same day! You can do a DNA test to see if they're identical, cost about £100 when me and my sister did it (though when we mentioned the results to some friends their response was errr, dur we could have told you that for less than £100!)

Coconutlatte congratulations on the 12 week scan! Pregnancy after MC is so nerve wracking but I've found I've relaxed a lot more after the 12 week scan.

Bentley sorry you're still feeling shit - that's so nice of your SIL though!

Meggaonion that sounds awful, feel so sorry for you ladies who are being sick lots.

All of my work clothes seem to have stopped fitting this week! Maternity jeans and baggy dresses it is from now on...might look for some maternity work trousers at the weekend but tbh I have no idea where to look for things like that in Malaysia. Hoping I can hold out till September and then do some shopping when we're back in the UK!

Bentley111 · 18/07/2019 08:20

@Kinsters that's amazing that you and your twin both cut your first & lost your first teeth on the same day.

@megganonion know how you're feeling only too well, it sucks doesn't it.

Have been team yellow since falling pregnant with the baby I lost last year but DH is desperate to know what we're having, but is happy to just follow my lead. He's a bit down with work at the moment so thinking of booking a surprise gender scan for us for next week when I'm 16 weeks... just got to think of a false reason why he needs to come into town with me... the GPs is next door so might use that. Any ideas?

SleepingStandingUp · 18/07/2019 09:05

You could tell him the GP do a routine appt to speak to both parents about lifestyle etc?
Or. Just cry, says its hormones, it's all his fault so he should just do as you ask 😂

Bentley111 · 18/07/2019 09:33

@SleepingStandingUp both could work 😂

Also, those talking about sales - Boohoo have got a massive 50-70% off everything at the mo, I just bought 6 tops & a 2 pack pair of overbump leggings for £31 👏🏼

Hanraa1 · 18/07/2019 09:39

I just had some stuff delivered from the boohoo sale and the mat leggings are fab!! Got a load of really great mat tops too!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 18/07/2019 09:43

My qualifying weeks are coming up for SMP. I'm due to go back to work Monday after being off sick for 4 weeks. I still really don't feel well but I don't know what happens regarding maternity allowance since you don't get SMP if you don't earn minimum £116 a week during qualifying weeks 🤦‍♀️

Does anyone know how it works?

Kinsters · 18/07/2019 09:53

Ahh Bentley that's such a lovely idea! It'll be an amazing surprise! It was honestly such a happy moment for me and DH finding out what we're having! I think the drs appointment for both to talk about lifestyle is a fab idea!
