Thanks everyone. I'm having a scan this afternoon. I'm just a bit worried because the GP seemed really anxious and thought I might need to be admitted. I literally never had anything like this in my previous pregnancies but then I'm much older this time and the risk of complications increases.

I hope the baby is ok not really nothing I can personally do whatever the outcome.

Mirana · 12/07/2019 12:14

@MoominMantra Thinking of you and praying all goes okay today xx

@Victoriaaaaaaaa If it calms your stress - the chicken in curries often has a pink colour. This is because it is often bathed in spice or a spice water before cooking, and almost all curries (even korma) use red spices! Chicken sucks them all up! To cook a curry (especially in take aways and restaurants) its usually a big pot that is stewing for hours. Despite their bad reputation, it's very hard to get food poisoning from a traditionally made curry itself!

Hi all, been watching the group for a while but not quite believed we would get this far having been trying for 3.5 years. 12 week scan went well today and its finally seeming real. No bump yet but got some more padding around my stomach. Has any one else felt quite self conscious until they actually got a bump?

SleepingStandingUp · 12/07/2019 13:42

@MrsM8828 congrats and welcome. Feel you on the until you get a u mp stage, every day I come down adn ask DH if the itfit makes me look pregnant or just fatter lol. I found got mater ity pants help!

Hanraa1 · 12/07/2019 13:50

@MrsM8828 congratulations!! I feel the same just bloated and self conscious. Can't wait to have a bump rather than just looking chubby!!

I've started to suffer with migraines which I didnt have pre pregnancy. It is completely wiping me out afterwards and actually quite scary when I'm having them. Has anyone else had this in pregnancy? Midwife tells me its not uncommon.
Really struggling and it's getting me down a bit now

DaisyMay25 · 12/07/2019 13:52

@MrsM8828 glad your scan went well! I'm 15+2 and know what you mean, I don't have a bump as such just a belly really. I'm hoping I pop in a few weeks though!

@SleepingStandingUp I keep asking DH last time he just said it was the way I was sat giving me a belly!

Doesn't help that my IBS has been bad recently and that gave me a bump pre pregnancy!

Bluebelltulip · 12/07/2019 13:56

@Hanraa1 I had migraines in my first pregnancy. Occasionally get them but not often normally but had them a couple of times a week for a month or so around this gestation with DD1.

SleepingStandingUp · 12/07/2019 14:32

@DaisyMay25 bad husband!!

DaisyMay25 · 12/07/2019 15:23

@SleepingStandingUp very! How's tour bump coming along? I assume you'll show quicker with twins?

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 12/07/2019 15:24

I'm having one of those super hormonal days today and don't know whether I'm over reacting 🙈

We went to a funeral today (me and DH) and my mum had our DD for a few hours as she was going out. Went to the funeral and then back for the wake. Turns out DH had said to our mates that when my mum had to go that he would be staying and I would be going back home to look after DD more than likely. So now I'm at home with DD while he's out having a good time - nothing seems to have changed for him since having DD as I'm always expected to have her and this scares me as to what my life will be like when the next one arrives. He works 10 days then has 4 days off and my friends are hardly free when his days off are so I literally never go out. I'm just sat at home now crying and I don't even know why?!

That's really thoughtless of him @Victoriaaaaaaaa
You should tell him how you feel.

FirstTim3Mummy · 12/07/2019 17:19

Hi all. Thanks for your concern and sorry for the drama yesterday. Had a migraine attack yesterday and spent it vomiting and fainting and in/out of consciousness.

Finally home from hospital been in all day. Baby is doing well and healthy and cause of bleeding identified and more blood tests and injection done. Such a relief 🙈🤗😁👍

O negative so had that injection

Bleed is due to low lying placenta by cervix

Strict rest, no lifting or stretching up or intense exercise or SEX!

MIL was with me so too embarrassed to ask when sex can be reintroduced! Poor DH none since conception due to being so poorly vomiting!

Poor ME I was looking forward to feeling better and getting a little lovin ;)

I just so exhausted and feeling poorly hoping this second trimester energy burst kicks in soon!!

X

mynameisMrG · 12/07/2019 17:36

That’s really good news @FirstTim3Mummy. Well not about the sex but about the baby 😊

mynameisMrG · 12/07/2019 17:37

How you doing @MoominMantra?

Bluebelltulip · 12/07/2019 18:39

@FirstTim3Mummy glad you now know what the cause is.

@Victoriaaaaaaaa my DH is out tonight too which he doesn't do much but I'm feeling a bit frustrated that DD keeps asking for him and I'm tired and I've not been out in over a year.

MoominMantra · 12/07/2019 20:32

Hey everyone. I had the scan - luckily baby appears to be absolutely fine and is measuring slightly ahead for dates. They couldn't see a cause of bleeding but because I'm rhesus neg Ive had an anti-d shot.

The doctor checked me over & said he's not concerned about my current health but I need to stop doing massages at work because that seems to be too much for me atm.

DaisyMay25 · 12/07/2019 20:38

@MoominMantra & @FirstTim3Mummy glad you scans went well and babies are okay!

Did the injection hurt? I've got mine in October, also where do they inject it?

MoominMantra · 12/07/2019 20:52

@DaisyMay25 honestly I didn't feel a thing - it was absolutely fine :) it was less painful than a blood test.

FirstTim3Mummy · 12/07/2019 20:59

Doesn't hurt and in the arm !

Sounds like we had same things going on moomin with the anti d injections! They were concerned due to bleeding usually I don't think you get the injections until later?

MoominMantra · 12/07/2019 21:50

No you don't, I think it's routine at 28 weeks. They told me that because I'm over 14 weeks they would always give it after a sensitising event. I didn't personally find it at all painful. I think if you prefer, you can ask to have the shot in your bum.

DaisyMay25 · 12/07/2019 22:37

They did tell me if I had any bleeding I'd have to go in for it so seems like normal protocol.

Thanks 😊

Heard bad things about the whooping cough one so bit nervous for that!

SleepingStandingUp · 12/07/2019 23:18

Glad the scans have brought reassurance today @FirstTim3Mummy and @MoominMantra. First I'd prepare for a nan for the whole of 2019...

@Victoriaaaaaaaa thatsounda rough. Def talk to him now and try and get some alone time whilst there's chance. If you know his 4 days off can you preplan with your mates? Or take yourself off for dinner and movie on your own, or coffee and a book. It's gonna be twice as bad next year and sounds like it's time he stepped up already. @Bluebelltulip you too, make a planto go out, with or without anyone else, andeave Daddy to cope

Missmonkeypenny · 13/07/2019 08:48

Morning all, I hope everyone’s got a lovely weekend ahead of them! DD is at her dads and DH is working nights so I’ve found myself at a bit of a loose end... I don’t think I’ve had a weekend completely to myself in years, I’m not actually sure what to do with it Confused

Ann334 · 13/07/2019 09:37

@missmonkeypenny I would make the most of it! Personally I’d get my favourite crap food in, find the girliest film to watch and release all my excess emotions, make a nest on the sofa, and basically become a teenager for a night 👌🏼

SleepingStandingUp · 13/07/2019 10:44

@DaisyMay25
It's making my 40H boons look small at least lol. I feel like it comes up and down tho lol altho keep being told I'm not showing much, I think being fat anyway people notice it less
