@beth3735 I just saw the scanner and then a midwife for the blood samples. I didn’t have to do a urine sample but I’m sure it varies place to place.

Kinsters · 11/07/2019 06:57

I'm pretty sure I felt the baby today! I've felt little flutterings and bubblings but thought it could be gas but there was this one movement that felt like she turned and rubbed against the inside of my belly (almost like the feeling of when you swallow something too big). Could that be her?! I'm getting way too excited about it haha and it's probably just my bowels 😅

Bentley sorry to hear you're still suffering with HG, and you too Mirana. Sounds awful.

plipliop · 11/07/2019 07:01

@Kinsters sometimes I think I can feel my baby too! Could be gas tho!

I've been looking at travel systems this morning (woke up at 5:30 😖).

Has anyone thought about prams etc yet?

I quite like the Ickle Bubba even tho the name is cringey.

Cannyhandleit · 11/07/2019 08:32

@plipliop we've put a deposit down in a maxi Cosi Adorra, probably way too early but I really liked it and it was a good deal.

mynameisMrG · 11/07/2019 09:16

I wish I could justify a new pram. We got the chicco travel system last time and it’s quite heavy and cumbersome. There is no way DH will let me spend another few hundred on a new one though. My friend has the maxi cosi which I like. Think I will just have to put up with it

FirstTim3Mummy · 11/07/2019 09:26

Panicking I'm bleeding when wiping and tiny bit in period pad I'm 14 weeks along today midwife isn't working today advice please going to call Dr now is this normal???

Bluebelltulip · 11/07/2019 09:30

@FirstTim3Mummy do you have an early pregnancy unit or maternity assessment you can call? Some areas switch to maternity assessment at 14 weeks others 16 weeks. A little bit of blood can be completely fine but talking to someone is a good idea.

Cannyhandleit · 11/07/2019 09:40

@FirstTim3Mummy your own midwife might not be working but do you not have a number for the community midwives in your area? There will be one working and they will be able to advise you!

mynameisMrG · 11/07/2019 09:41

Agree @FirstTim3Mummy call your EPU or labour ward for advice. I’m sure it is nothing to worry about but I know I wouldn’t rest until it was confirmed. Keeping everything crossed for you x

mynameisMrG · 11/07/2019 09:41

Sorry forgot to say when i have had bleeding at 14 weeks the labour ward took me and I was scanned within the hour so worth calling them

Bentley111 · 11/07/2019 10:07

@beth3735 I saw the scanner and then a nurse for the blood test. Agree with @BowiesJumper I'm sure it varies area to area. Good luck today xx

@FirstTim3Mummy definitely call EPU! Is it easing at all?

@Kinsters how exciting! Sounds like baby to me! I'm so excited to start feeling little flutters.

@Mirana I'm definitely better than I was - I'm only being sick 3-4 times a day as opposed to 10+ and the nausea has eased. Weeks 7-11 were my worst and after week 13 I felt better, but better isn't myself if you know what I mean? I am hoping to go back to work even part time next week as so bored!!!

@DinoGreen thinking of you, hope you're hanging in there ok x

Is anyone else getting really upset over small, insignificant things? It's our 1st anniversary and DH put a pic from the wedding on Instagram and out of all of the lovely pics he could have chosen, he picked a group shot with MIL in her long, cream dress, exactly the type that older women choose to get married in at the front of the shot with DH and you can barely see me at the back. Sure it's the hormones as I'd normally shrug off things like that but I actually balled my eyes out when I saw it.

MoominMantra · 11/07/2019 10:11

Where is the best place to buy a pram? Ie, best offers?

What does everyone think about the best brands? I would ideally like something not heavy.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/07/2019 10:24

MY advice with prams would be to go round lots of shops that have them up and have a push and a feel, see what works for you. something that can face backwards and forwards. decent basket underneath. something that will balance a nappy bag at the front. cold drink holder!!

winter138 · 11/07/2019 10:28

We went to Mothercase and had a nosey last week at 10+7!

I wanted something light that packs away easily. We looooved a silver cross one but it was just too heavy. Super stylish though!

We also tried bugaboo (I didn't like the handle) and egg, which I loved! My husband wasn't too fussed on it though and the underbasket is quite small. I really liked it though and it was light and folded away really easily...

Going to try more over the next few weeks. I'd like to have picked it by end of summer and then think I'll try and get in black friday sales?

Bluebelltulip · 11/07/2019 10:31

I agree with SleepingStandingUp go and try them out, also try collapsing them. Some places have weighted dolls to help give a feel of how they will feel. Most people I know have found separate carry cots and seats work better than one that converts.

karryk · 11/07/2019 10:32

@Bentley111 bizarrely I'm not getting upset but the other way - I was watching old episodes of Friends the other day and laughing hysterically Blush yes, they usually make me giggle but I was almost in tears of laughter. Most strange!! Grin

I bought a rather heavy but nice pram from Mamas and Papas last time - great for going on long walks. I've got no idea what to do this time - I still have the pram and DD will be 2.5 when bub arrives. Is she two big to sit in a double buggy? Too small for one of those buggy boards? Needless to say none of this is going to fit in our current car 🙈

karryk · 11/07/2019 10:33

*too big even.

P.s. Definitely measure your car boot before buying a pram Grin

mynameisMrG · 11/07/2019 10:48

We got ours from kiddicare last time and they were quite helpful showing us how to collapse it and transfer from flat pram to sitting buggy. Mind you I think they have closed down now (the Peterborough branch certainly has) so that’s not particularly helpful

mynameisMrG · 11/07/2019 10:51

Got my 17 week scan date through today, 1st August. It’s the day before my DSs birthday so if all goes well we can tell family at his party. 21 days to go

megganonion · 11/07/2019 10:54

@FirstTim3Mummy i been having some bleeding aswel from saturday on and off im 13+5 today. Midwife has just got back to me today after calling and leaving a message monday they are trying to get me booked in for a scan this evening

Bluebelltulip · 11/07/2019 10:58

@karryk I wouldn't say she is too big for a double, it's depends how much you use it. DD1 was 2 when DD2 was due and we bought a double as I didn't think DD1 could use a buggy board at that point. We returned the double after DD2 died and won't be buying one this time. DD1 will be 3 and I think she will now be fine on a board and I'm planning on using the sling if DD1 needs to go in the pushchair occasionally. A friend has a similar gap to you and uses the combination of sling, pushchair and board.

beth3735 · 11/07/2019 11:30

I had bloods, scan, urine sample, and a meeting with a midwife today. But all is good. I’m still due the 19th jan and the NT was 2.1mm.
Any ideas on gender?

Jan 2020 - Thread 5!!
mynameisMrG · 11/07/2019 11:31

Lovely photo @beth3735 I’m not very good at guessing the gender though! I’ve been wrong on all three of mine lol

beth3735 · 11/07/2019 11:48

@mynameisMrG, me too 😂😂 I go by how I feel. I knew my boy was a boy before the scan. I’m not finding out this time though and it’s already killing me 😂😂 thank you though x

McHelenz · 11/07/2019 11:53

@plipliop I've put a deposit on a cosatto giggle mix bundle. We went twice pushing it around and put it in our smallest car. It was too good a deal though - 500 pounds for pram, car seat and isofix base x
