I’m hoping it’s just ligaments stretching and it will stop but it scares you doesn’t it! My DS is painfully shy and hates walking into nursery so I’m having to train him to walk in rather than me carry him. He’s about two stone and it’s starting to take its toll on me. Feel sorry for him

DinoGreen · 10/07/2019 09:26

@SleepingStandingUp for some reason my workplace is strangely reluctant to ever get maternity cover. They just expect the rest of the team to pick it up. Which isn’t great because it causes resentment from other team members too! I don’t know why they won’t just get cover. However with my other colleague leaving as well they’ll just have to suck it up and do some recruitment!

SleepingStandingUp · 10/07/2019 10:15

Ah yes that does make it harder then, it's very unfair.

Mirana · 10/07/2019 11:37

Hi all,

Ducked out for a while as was a bit overwhelmed. Congrats on all the scans 🤗 So excited for you all as always. Hope you're managing ok @mynameisMrG, thinking of you! 11+3 and HG is starting to clear up - it's either normal, so bad not even the meds will control it or just moderate nausea. Haven't felt hungry in months and have had lots of throat tears so excited for this stage to be over. Pretty sure this baby will be born entirely beige or it will just be a milkshake as that's all I've been able to eat for weeks!! 3 hospital trips and counting. I started vomiting at 3+1 and think I felt a bit just overwhelmed and ungrateful about being pregnant because it's actually been really hard!

12 week scan on Monday, on a countdown and obviously crapping myself. Did see some of the essentials list stuff in the thread (very helpful, thank you) so will probably join the FB group and beg for all your knowledge if all ok Monday. FTM so clueless. Some Americans in a group were talking about wipe warmers?? Wtf?? And a "diaper genii" isnt that just a bin?? They have bins in home bargains, £4 😂

Your bumps are all gorgeous too, I dont have much of anything and just look like I've had a big dinner 😭 Anyone else? Also any suggestions on stretch mark creams?

winter138 · 10/07/2019 12:15

I've had abdominal pain the last few days when peeing. I told my mum (who is a nurse) last night and she said I need to get checked for a UTI.

I've also had a sore lower back, peeing lots and waking up in the night to pee but I just assumed these were all normal pregnancy things (this is my first!)

I took a sample this morning and left it into my GP. It was really cloudy (sorry if TMI), even my husband said "that's definitely not normal!!"

I just rang GP and they said they dipped it and it has come back clear. I can feel a slight, what I would describe as heat, in my urinary tract this morning (didn't notice it yesterday). Not quite a burning but definitely something strange as well as a very sore lower back and still cloudy pee despite drinking 1.5L already today. They said they'll send it off to the lab but could take a few days to come back (weekend) so I am not sure what to do.

It feels like it's probably something but I don't want to be the overly anxious pregnant woman either that's just annoying them. Should I just be patient or what else can I do? I am in N.Ireland so we have a bank hol on Fri where everything is closed, we don't have 111 service here and my GP closes at 1pm today!! Argh!

DinoGreen · 10/07/2019 13:22

Not looking good for me at the 12 week scan unfortunately. The NT measurement was 5.5 which is huge. I have to go back on Friday for an appointment with the consultant and then, probably, CVS, but with a measurement that high the odds aren’t good. DH and I are all over the place. I just never thought it would happen to me.

mynameisMrG · 10/07/2019 13:25

I’m sorry to hear that @DinoGreen, what a worry for you xx

BowiesJumper · 10/07/2019 13:43

@winter138 that's the annoying thing about pregnancy, a lot of the symptoms are like a UTI! I'd just keep drinking plenty until the results come back. Fingers crossed it's nothing! Not nice though, poor you!

@Mirana that sounds horrendous, you poor thing! I hope it goes for you asap and you feel bright and bouncy in the 2nd trimester! Fingers crossed.

BowiesJumper · 10/07/2019 13:46

@DinoGreen Sorry to hear that. Is CVS better than doing the harmony blood test or similar? Lots of love. x

Bluebelltulip · 10/07/2019 13:51

@DinoGreen Friday must seem a lifetime away right now, my thoughts are with you while you wait for your appointment and results. Try to take one step at a time.

DinoGreen · 10/07/2019 15:27

@BowiesJumper because the measurement is so high the specialist midwife recommended CVS or amnio rather than the harmony test. She said I should be able to have the CVS on Friday hopefully, as long as the placenta is in an ok position. Even if the baby does not have Downs, the high NT measurement means there is also a risk of other abnormalities such as heart defects. It’s just a bit of a minefield at the moment thinking through all the possibilities.

BowiesJumper · 10/07/2019 15:38

@DinoGreen ah I see. It's good they can do it so soon, do they give the results fairly quickly? I've got everything crossed for you. x

Cannyhandleit · 10/07/2019 16:26

I'm really sorry you are going through this @DinoGreen, I was in the same exact position 5 years ago and I really hope you get some positive results from the cvs but if you want to chat about life with a child with Down's syndrome then feel free to pm me. I won't be offended if you don't take me up on that.

DinoGreen · 10/07/2019 16:40

Thanks everyone for the support. I think I probably won’t post for a while now as everything is looking pretty doom and gloom and i don’t want to bring the thread down. I will update though when I have more news just to confirm the outcome.

Bentley111 · 10/07/2019 17:51

Just checking in, sorry I've been so quiet recently. Am really struggling with HG plus this heat. All the bump pics are looking amazing. I just look a bit chubby still 🙈 still can't believe I'm 14 weeks today

@Mirana I'm so sorry you're struggling too. It really is tough isn't it? In terms of stretch mark cream I've been using this www.clarins.co.uk/tonic-body-treatment-oil-firming-toning/C020101003.html since I found out I was pg. All the women in my family swear by it and don't have a stretch mark in sight. It's pricy but lasts ages - I use it 3-4 times a week and have around half a bottle left.

@DinoGreen sorry to hear you're having a rubbish time. Am crossing everything for you x

Chembecky · 10/07/2019 18:05

@Bentley111 that oil looks good. Im going on hol in a couple of weeks so might get some from the airport....will be cheaper!

DaisyMay25 · 10/07/2019 18:51

So sorry @DinoGreen I hope they get those test results early for you.

plipliop · 10/07/2019 19:05

@DinoGreen so sorry to hear this x

SleepingStandingUp · 10/07/2019 19:27

@winter138 can you make an appt to go in, and do another sample? Meanwhile cranberry juice!

@DinoGreen I'm so sorry you're going through this. We'll all have every finger we embody crossed for you and your baby xx

Bentley111 · 10/07/2019 19:45

@Chembecky think it is, my DM kindly picked me some up in duty free when she went away last week. It is really good stuff Smile

karryk · 10/07/2019 22:23

Thinking of you @DinoGreen ❤️❤️❤️

The aches have definitely started over here too...been getting a dead leg at night - happy times!

beth3735 · 10/07/2019 23:07

@DinoGreen sorry to hear about the NT measurement, I’m hoping all is good news for you in the end, just not nice all this worry.

I have my scan tomorrow and I’m dreading the measurement. When I went for my private scan the lady mentioned to make sure I get the checks done when I have my nhs scan. I’ve convinced myself that she’s seen something worrying.

Can I ask anyone who has had their 12 week scan, who you see in the hospital and what they do? I know I’m having the scan and I know I also have to have bloods taken, but is it normal to take in a red topped pee sample?

Cindy61 · 11/07/2019 01:31

@DinoGreen sorry you're going through this. I'm waiting for a NIPT in two weeks as the NT is not good enough. I understand. I'll cross everything for you. X

Kinsters · 11/07/2019 02:06

Dino so sorry to hear the 12 week scan was not reassuring x

Mirana · 11/07/2019 03:38

Dino I'm sorry your scan was such a shock :( It's horrible everything that can go wrong. Have everything crossed for you.

@Bentley111 Can't believe you're still going through it and you're so far ahead of me! I'm 11+4 and utterly fed up now. And the heat does make it so much worse!! That oil looks amazing, will def buy some. I had horrendous purple stretch marks all through my teens - I was rail thin so gaining even 1lb would give me heaps. Obviously still have the scars everywhere. Going to try to aide my body as much as I can, would pay £400 if it works!!
