Congrats on all the beautiful scans today 😍😍 it's all getting very exciting!

My Mum was ordained yesterday, very very long day. I found out that despite losing weight this pregnancy, none of my dresses would fit over my stomach (wtf) so I ended up in a Jersey skater dress from 5 years ago... Which my belly made super short! Was not my best look at the church but needs must 😂 Was the only dress I own that fits. I hadn't prepared anything else because I had no idea I would show at all by 10weeks??

Anti-sickness is working to an extent, but I feel so guilty that I'm eating so little, and when I do it's just crap. Today I've had 2 small bowls of cereal and that's it. I'm so paranoid something will go wrong because struggling with food so much, but I have zero appetite and what I do eat I have to gag down. Yuck 😐 my 12week scan is 2 weeks today so that's exciting/terrifying. So ready for the 2nd trimester!!! (Fingers crossed I make it).

None of my clothes fit so I had a Skype meeting today with a shirt on, which only does up to above my belly so I adjusted my webcam to be boob height and above 😂😂 and bottom half I had my old skanky joggers on. All went fine until I put my leg up on my chair and my boss said "Christ Summer, are you wearing jogging bottoms AT 3PM???". Made up a quick lie about a hangover from yesterday. Yikes 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Mirana · 01/07/2019 21:11

My parents have also started asking about my 30th next year (it's my 29th on the 17th) and I have never wanted to take to my bed and stay there more in my entire life.

Also side note - Good luck for tomorrow @Victoriaaaaaaaa !!!

SleepingStandingUp · 01/07/2019 21:12

@beth3735 when I was looking at going to Nepal I was told the biggest issues are DVT and dehydration. So compression socks, lots of getting up and down, walking, moving your legs and a ton of water. Just think of all the celebrities jetting back and forth all through their pregnancies xx

@mrscatmad31you can join my club

SleepingStandingUp · 01/07/2019 21:15

@Mirana babies are smart, they'll just take fromyou and they need so little at this age that baby is fine. Your body knows to feed the next generation of propagation before the host xx

Hi I’ve not posted much I’m due on the 14th with my second.

To those ladies suffering sickness let me reassure you. I had HG with my first from 6 weeks, I was off work until just after my 20 week scan. On a good day I kept down a packet of crisps and a glass of water, I lost 2 stone. From 20 weeks I could manage plain food and managed the symptoms but I couldn’t let myself get hot, tired, hungry thirsty but I could function almost normally. My bump was compact (!!) I weigh more now than I did full term I’m 8 1/2 stone. Despite all this my ds was a healthy 7lb13. I had a midwife describe him lovingly as a parasite he took all the goodness he needed.

Eat what you want when you want baby will be fine.

beth3735 · 01/07/2019 21:55

@SleepingStandingUp thank you you’re right about all the celebrities doing it. I’ll have to order some compression socks and just stock up on the water to drink. 9 and a half hour flight, I’m going to be uncomfortable as anything 😂😂

SleepingStandingUp · 01/07/2019 22:10

The hardest think I found flying late was the seat belt, I'm a big girl anyway and had tons of fluid and it was tight. Travelled in bare feet and loose clothes

Kinsters · 02/07/2019 03:29

Beautiful scan pics everyone. And Botanica that's just amazing, it must have been incredible to see that positive test!

I started looking through the hypnobirthing stuff yesterday. It seems pretty interesting, much more science based than I expected. I'm going to make an effort to get back into exercising as well, did 30 minutes on the cross trainer last night and I was surprised that I don't feel awfully unfit after 6 weeks of doing no exercise. Possibly because I was taking it quite easy but still.

beth3735 · 02/07/2019 07:43

Has anyone here ever had a homebirth? Is it worth the hassle? I’ve previously had 3 natural labours without pain relief as I’m too scared of needles. They ranged from 6 hours, 2 hours and 30 mins so got quicker as they went on.

I do worry with us being due in jan if we are iced or snowed in (live up hills) I was wondering whether a home birth could be an option.

Mumof4andahalf · 02/07/2019 07:50

@beth3735 I have 14 years ago, it was amazing, relaxed and very easy, I loved having a good nights sleep in my bed and being able to eat when and what I wanted and drink tea by the bucketful! I planned one for my 4th and am under the homebirth team this time.
It's never guaranteed you will get a homebirth as only a few midwives are on call and you can of course change your mind at anytime.

McHelenz · 02/07/2019 07:50

@beth3735 I've had no experience as this is my first, however I couldn't imagine anything worse. Especially if something was to go wrong. I'd be more worried about being up the icey hills then xx

Kinsters · 02/07/2019 08:42

I would love a home-birth but it's not allowed in Malaysia. Probably not advisable for a first birth either. The idea of it really appeals to me though, maybe one day.

beth3735 · 02/07/2019 09:18

@Mumof4andahalf that sounds great, I have plenty of space but the lack of midwives might be my problem. I’ll have a word with my midwife when I see her at 16 weeks.

@McHelenz I see your point which is why I have never had one previously. I would love to give it a go but my son last time had to be rushed away to clear his lungs of meconium. Not sure they would have the means to do it in a home birth if need be.

McHelenz · 02/07/2019 09:29

@beth3735 I also work with really poorly children for a living so that also adds extra fear!

I think id just want to be as close to the hospital as possible.

mynameisMrG · 02/07/2019 10:52

@beth3735 my midwife has recommended I have a home birth as my DS was born in 3 hours and odds are this one will be quicker. I’m very reluctant though and think I will just head straight to hospital as soon as I feel a twinge. I’ll probably end up with a 20 hour labour instead

Missmonkeypenny · 02/07/2019 11:08

I thought the morning sickness had gone away as I hadn’t had it for about it week.

Cue me catching a handful of vomit on the way back to my car after profuse nausea during the weekly shop this morning Sad

HungryPanda92 · 02/07/2019 13:13

Can't believe we're on thread 5!

Checking in even though I'm never active haha
1st pregnancy, I'm 26, currently 10+2 and due 26/01/20.

Had my booking in appointment last week and waiting impatiently for my scan date to come through! Nothing to report from me other than eating everything in sight. Need to curb it otherwise I'm gonna end up massive.

So sorry to hear the sad news from some of the lovely ladies on this thread. Thoughts are with them Flowers

@Victoriaaaaaaaa that's my due date !!x

lmason17 · 02/07/2019 16:01

Hi all, long-time lurker here!

I'm definitely late to the party but thought I'd jump in now I've passed the 12 week mark. Was very nervous to do so before now due to previous loss.

I'm 29, 12+3 with estimated due date of 11 January 2019.

Got my 12 week scan on Friday - still ridiculously nervous (never got this far!!), despite having a lovely scan at 9 weeks due to post-coital spotting. All these lovely pictures are definitely helping me feel more positive, so keep them coming!

Mumof4andahalf · 02/07/2019 17:18

@McHelenz the midwives told me an ambulance could be with me in 2 minutes, the cord was wrapped around my sons neck and they sorted it quickly and efficiently. I had 3 midwives present throughout so definately had full in care!
Homebirths not for everyone, I hate hospitals so I'm far more relaxed at home.
