@Mumof4andahalf yea it's each to their own. I just know that they say that but having had to blue light
someone sometimes they aren't hasty.

Everyone needs to do what's best for them though 🙂. Personally I want to be near all the drugs 😂😂

Mumof4andahalf · 02/07/2019 17:35

@McHelenz lol I do love the gas and air....couldn't be without that!!

plipliop · 02/07/2019 17:57

I feel so MASSIVE today 😭
So embarrassed about how big I look already

Mumof4andahalf · 02/07/2019 18:09

How many of you that had early scans and now have had 12 week scans have the same edd?
Or have your dates changed?

Chuchu14 · 02/07/2019 18:11

I feel your pain @plipliop I'm only 10 weeks and already feel my stomach is popping. Had my booking in appointment today, the midwife so super lovely and so reassuring (had a traumatic experience with my son) feeling so much better. Hoping to get my date for my 12 week scan soon. I'm definitely going to be at the hospital as we are fairly far from our nearest and my son needed urgent medical care after he was born but I think there are pros and cons to each, just have to do what's right for you x

plipliop · 02/07/2019 18:14

Must stop eating shit!

Soph43 · 02/07/2019 18:29

Just a wee heads up.. boohoo have a sale on.. with clear pay now so you can order loads of maternity clothes, pay 1/4 and if you don’t like them or don’t fit you can send rest back and only pay what you’ve kept.. I know Asos has klarna but boohoo is super cheap just now!!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 02/07/2019 18:46

I'm so so so anti dopplers but I'm wanting to buy one just to hear the heartbeat etc and any worries I'd be going to hospital and not getting my Doppler out 🙈

Help talk me out of it 😂

Mumof4andahalf · 02/07/2019 18:56

@Victoriaaaaaaaa I don't think they are a bad thing, never used one before but if it's just for fun go for it.
Sorry I've not talked you out of it at all 🤣

Hanraa1 · 02/07/2019 19:22

@Soph43 amazing tip thank you!! My basket is so full 🙈

Missmonkeypenny · 02/07/2019 19:27

Victoria I definitely have a Doppler which arrived on Sunday and have found babies HB already... I mentioned it to my midwife yesterday when booking in for my next apt and she said as long as you never, ever use it to check baby is okay after any warning signs or a period of no movement then they’re fine to use just to listen in to hear baby. I plan on using it until I’m feeling baby move regularly and then I’ll stop. Either that or I’ll be up the private scan clinic every bloody week Confused

MoominMantra · 02/07/2019 19:56

Thanks for this @Soph43 xx

Nicky883 · 02/07/2019 20:00

@Mumof4andahalf my early scan put me 1 day behind expected due date so made me 14th of jan
My 12 week scan put me. 4 days ahead so edd 10th of jan ! Who knows !!

Mumof4andahalf · 02/07/2019 20:03

@Nicky883 I thought the early scans would be really accurate but after googling it seems not!
I could be anything between 11 + 3 to 12+5
Quite a difference in these early weeks!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 02/07/2019 20:48

My early scan was 5 days out Smile

Mumof4andahalf · 02/07/2019 21:03

This is a long shot but has anybody thought about when they're going on maternity leave? I'll have to let work know in about six weeks. I have a job in a coffee shop and I'm on my feet all day and I know in later stages I'll find a lot of my job difficult so I'm thinking I'll probably go off at the beginning of November, that's when our Christmas stuff launches too and that'll be too hectic for me

I'm taking 9 months off plus two weeks annual leave

McHelenz · 02/07/2019 21:24

@DaisyMay25 funny you should ask, I've had to book all this today. I am going on annual leave on the 2nd December and then maternity starts on the 23rd December.

mynameisMrG · 02/07/2019 21:32

Unless I go early @DaisyMay25 I will go until the school Christmas holidays which is three weeks before my due date. Luckily I don’t teach and am in the office so I can sit and take it easy if I need to

DaisyMay25 · 02/07/2019 21:36

I just don't know of I'm being a bit over cautious for wanting to go off at 32 weeks but I guess only I can know. I know work will be fine with it obviously. I also know there will be a lot of scans and appointments at that stage too.

Also anyone got awful back ache? Mine is getting unbearable, I'm making DH look up how to massage safely!

Nicky883 · 02/07/2019 21:43

@DaisyMay25 i went on maternity leave at 34 weeks last time . Baby didnt come until almost 41 weeks . I was so bored by the second week lol . If i did again i would go later around 37 weeks as my job is basically sitting down all day ! But i dreaded the commute hence the early leave .
This time am thinking of leaving the week of christmas ! I thibk i ll be 36 or 37 weeks

DaisyMay25 · 02/07/2019 21:49

Thanks guys, my job also includes last shifts (getting home around midnight) so I know it's not ideal and my manager won't budge on this. It's a high risk pregnancy too. I probably will be bored but I have a friend who is due in September so she'll be on maternity too so I think I'm gonna talk to my midwife about 32 weeks. There's just so much to think about isn't there? Time is flying too!

McHelenz · 02/07/2019 21:52

@daisymay25 there is! I think since having a scan its all got very real and that I need to get things done.

We tried a pram the other day and I loved it, we might be putting a deposit down...eeek!

DaisyMay25 · 02/07/2019 21:55

@McHelenz oooo that's very exciting!! I made a list of all the stuff we need to buy! I daren't look at pranks I always get drawn towards the expensive silver cross ones!
