Lovely scan pics everyone- my little one was proper full on somersaulting crazy baby and is 4 days bigger than we thought just gotta wait fir Wednesday for trisomy results and Friday:Monday for genetics results fingers crossed! Heard baby's heartbeat too nice and strong!
Hope the nausea settles down for you ladies struggling -mine subsided once I got to week 11 my boobs are still sore tho! Xx

Kinsters · 25/06/2019 02:14

Lovely pictures and great to hear good news from so many people!

How are you coping with the wait MummyBear? Hope you're doing ok.

Does anyone else have relatives with weird reactions? We were so worried about MC that we told hardly anybody (easier because we live overseas - parents, my twin sister, one of DH's brother who guessed because we see him so much). Anyway, I told my other siblings on our family group chat after the 12 week scan and my sister was excited and happy for me but my brother hasn't even said a word! Not even a congratulations. That's not normal right?!

It doesn't bother me that much because we're not close anyway but I guess it does bother me a bit because I'm writing it down here!

Anon120 · 25/06/2019 07:33

@Kinsters yes I've also had some random/ weird reactions.. you would think being family there would be more happiness or excitement for you so I guess it's a bit disappointing when it's such an odd reaction 😔

On another note, I have my first scan with nhs at 13+4 but was told by a friend that this may be a bit late to do some of the tests. Is that right? Should I reschedule? Am a bit worried now xx

Bentley111 · 25/06/2019 07:33

I can't imagine how slowly this week is going to go for you @MummyBearBoo - hope you're doing ok.

@Kinsters that's really not normal, I'd be hurt by that. Have your sisters mentioned his reaction? Perhaps they'll have a chat with him.

Had the most vivid dream last night that I had a baby girl - the first time I've dreamt about the baby since falling pregnant. She had the most beautiful hazel eyes and jet black hair. It was such a realistic dream that it took me 5 mins when I woke up to remember that the baby I dreamt about was still in my belly!

Bentley111 · 25/06/2019 07:34

X post @Anon120 - I think they can do the tests until 13+6 so you should be fine x

Morris26 · 25/06/2019 07:45

Had tiny bit of brown spotting on Sunday so at my booking in apt yesterday midwife referred for an early scan which is tomorrow. I did have a private scan at 7 weeks and all was OK and I'm 9 weeks today. So worried I've called in sick to work today and will do the same tomorrow as my boss doesn't know I'm pregnant and it's easier than making excuses to needing last minute time off and my heads just not in work mode. Feeling very ropey with no appetite, lost around half a stone so far!! Anyone else still struggling too eat?

Kinsters · 25/06/2019 08:05

Morris it's only around now (12+4) that I've reliably got my appetite back. I was never really sick in the first trimester but I felt nauseous and had a long list of stuff I couldn't stomach eating so it was difficult to eat. I think in the first trimester they're not worried about whether you put on weight.

Bentley hmm yeah maybe I'll speak to my sisters about it. I do find it hurtful but I'm also kind of worried about him. He's one of those guys who hasn't been able to fly the nest. He seems happy enough but idk, never had a job, living with parents in mid twenties. It just doesn't seem healthy.

That dream sounds so lovely! Are you going to find out the sex?

Morris try not to worry, a little bit of bleeding could be caused by anything. Always good to get checked out though, just to ease your anxiety. Definitely call in sick, you don't need the extra stress.

karryk · 25/06/2019 08:12

Good luck @Morris26 hopefully it's nothing. I had spotting on and off from 5 weeks to around 8 weeks. Had a scan at 9 weeks and all was fine.

I'm now starting to get anxious about my dating scan - it's next week. I keep coming across stories of older ladies (I've just turned 42 - wahey) having sad news at this time so it's doing my head in slightly. I need to stay away from the Internet, I know! Argh Blush

On the plus side I feel a bit more human in the mornings...evenings are still pants and I can't manage more than a bowl of cheerios for dinner - husband was cooking chicken last night and the smell made me really uncomfortable 🤢

Bentley111 · 25/06/2019 08:28

Try not to worry @Morris26 brown blood is old and there's infinite reasons why it could be there. Know full well how terrifying it is though... rest up.

I'm still struggling to eat... managed an apple and some hummus/pitta yesterday and that was it.

Perhaps in that case he's a little resentful @Kinsters (not that it's an excuse at all - still very rude!!) but it's probably a reminder that he is mid twenties, living at home, no job whilst you're "growing up."

I'm not bothered at all finding out the sex but DH really does want to so I imagine we will. Are you?

mynameisMrG · 25/06/2019 08:38

12 weeks today. Can’t believe i have actually got to this point. Scan this afternoon so fingers crossed everything is ok. Good luck to everyone else having scans today. I have a feeling today is going to draaaaaag!

Bit of an odd one but does anyone else wake up feeling like they’ve pulled every muscle in their stomach sometimes? I feel like I’ve done a hardcore gym session Confused I’ve had it a few times in the past few weeks and I don’t know what it is!

12 weeks tomorrow for me but no scan until next Monday which I’m definitely not wishing was sooner or anything

Kinsters · 25/06/2019 08:42

We're going to find out the sex Bentley, should be next week along with the NIPT results. I really want to know! I always thought I'd want to keep it a surprise but now that it's a reality I realised I'm way too impatient for that.

Missmonkeypenny · 25/06/2019 08:43

Oh Morris I’ve had spotting twice this pregnancy, once at 5+4 and then again at 7+4. I know it’s bloody terrifying but brown blood is old blood and generally normal to see sometimes Flowers

beth3735 · 25/06/2019 09:34

@karryk I hear you with the worrying over the older ladies finding out bad news around this stage. I’m 36 this year and I can’t get over the fear of the syndromes my baby could have. It’s become a constant worry for me so much so that I looked at doing it private sooner than my nhs. But it’s £300-£400 for those sort of scans 😳 fingers crossed for us both x

Morris26 · 25/06/2019 09:57

Thanks all, you've made me feel a little better and bit less guilty for taking a couple of days off to look after myself!

Good luck to all those who have scans coming up too 😊

Bentley111 · 25/06/2019 10:09

@Kinsters that's so exciting!!! DH wants to go for a scan at 16 weeks to find out, we've not done NIPT. I think we'd find out earlier if we ended up having to have an amnio for whatever reason but hoping it won't come to that 🤞🏼

Cindy61 · 25/06/2019 10:19

Seeing all your lovely scans makes me even more impatient for my 12 week scan next Thursday. I'm 32 and I really really hope the NT scan can be straightforward then I can go home and just tell everyone and carry on with the pregnancy!! 🥺

BowiesJumper · 25/06/2019 11:04

Morning all! Good luck to the scanners!

I've still not had my appointment, hoping to get a letter through in the next couple of days. So annoying having to wait! 11 wks tomorrow. I also feel like there could be nothing in there.

DaisyMay25 · 25/06/2019 11:17

Had my scan!
What a do, the baby just would not co operate, I had to walk around for a while, rock from side to side, go on all fours. All of it! Finally managed to get it moving though, I think it had hiccups at the start!
I'm thinking it's a boy but would love to hear your guesses.

Anon120 · 25/06/2019 12:35

@DaisyMay25 congrats what a lovely scan photo! How do you do these predictions - is it based on the skull theory? I was so sure mine was boy but everyone's saying girl haha.

Also I would love to join the Facebook group if anyone knows how to! X

CatRash · 25/06/2019 12:44

Lovely scan photo @DaisyMay25! Tricky one but I think boy too.
