Amazing @Kinsters!!

Kinsters · 22/06/2019 06:17

Thanks! I'm feeling a bit more relaxed now (even finally bought some maternity jeans - only a month after mine stopped fitting!!).

I think I'll always have that worry in the back of mind that I don't want to get too relaxed in case it jinxes anything but for now I'm on cloud nine and I'm going to enjoy it.

DaisyMay25 · 22/06/2019 06:43

@Kinsters how lovely!! I'm guessing girl for yours. Must've been nice seeing them wriggle about in 3D!

MoominMantra · 22/06/2019 07:07

Congratulations @Botanica 💕💕

Kinsters · 22/06/2019 07:12

Oo haha I'm excited to find out what it is! We're all expecting it to be a boy as my DH has only brothers and his cousins are 80% male as well.

Missmonkeypenny · 22/06/2019 07:56

Amazing news Botanica and Kinsters, you must both be over the bloody moon and rightly so! Grin

Other than sore boobs and constant, constant sneezing and a runny nose, all of my symptoms seems to have buggered off and although it’s nice not to feel like crap, I’m not framing the F out that something has gone wrong. Seems that a scan only reassurea me for a grand total of 6 days and my official 12 week isn’t until the 1st July.. it’s going to be a very long week!

DinoGreen · 22/06/2019 08:03

Congrats @Botanica and @Kinsters!

@primarywoodle sorry to hear about your scan being worrying. My SIL went through the same thing and the CVS thankfully was clear. It was a very scary time for her though. Will be thinking of you and at least it’s not long to wait until your CVS.

I’m 10 weeks today! Double figures. Early scan tomorrow, I’m excited and nervous!

primarywoodle · 22/06/2019 08:07

@mummybearboo i had the amnio last time but the fmu midwife said she wanted to try the cvs first, i have a posterior placenta again so might have to wait for amnio anyway if its in the way

Congrats to all the good news, really hope everyone else has really boring pregnancies!

MummyBearBoo · 22/06/2019 08:47

Hopefully the placenta has moved coz CVS can be done earlier than Amnio -my first CVS was fine had a tiny bruise on my tummy afterwards but the local anaesthetic was the worst bit!! I had read that subsequent ones are usually quite bad and I felt really sick after my second but it's not particularly painful just uncomfortable-it's probably similar to Amnio where they can only numb where the needle goes in so when it goes thru the abdomen it stings momentarily! Fingers crossed it's all ok for you! My NT gets measured on Monday and they'll test for downs and other conditions as well as the genetic condition anyway! Xx

megganonion · 22/06/2019 09:44

Wow what beautiful scan pics!
Hope all thise waiting in test results get a positive outcome x

mynameisMrG · 22/06/2019 09:57

Congratulations @Kinsters and @Botanica such lovely news. I’m looking outside wondering if I should go out and embrace the warm weather with the risk of high pollen or not.
Three more days until my scan. Longest week on record.

What's the difference between CVS and amnio? Is cvs taking placental cells and amnio taking the fluid?

SleepingStandingUp · 22/06/2019 10:15

I hate hay-fever

Mirana · 22/06/2019 10:38

9 weeks tomorrow! Cant believe I've made it this far, genuinely shocked.

Spoke too soon about the sickness, last night was horrendous and I feel ropey again today. Assuming I'm now in the coming/going stage. Also had my first headache of the pregnancy last night (I rarely ever get headaches) so that was wonderful.

Is anyone else's skin completely crap still or did I just pull a short straw?

Bentley111 · 22/06/2019 11:20

@Mirana I'm in the same boat as you. My skin is awful, particularly around my jawline. I've never had it this bad, not even as a teenager.

I'm so anxious for my scan on Thursday, I'm terrified something has gone wrong since 8+1 when I had my reassurance scan... even though I know that's fairly irrational.

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 22/06/2019 11:30

@Bentley111 it’s normal to feel worried before the scan. When I had my 12-week scan with DD I was almost sick with nerves while waiting for the sonographer to put the probe on my stomach. She was so lovely though and said straight away there’s the heartbeat and a very wriggly baby. Hopefully you will have a similar experience Smile

@Mirana I have been having headaches too, they suck!

mynameisMrG · 22/06/2019 11:34

Glad it’s not just me @SleepingStandingUp, I feel awful.

DaisyMay25 · 22/06/2019 11:38

@Bentley111 I know how you feel! It's been nearly three weeks since my last scan at my next is on Tuesday. I know the chances of something going wrong is about 3% but I'm terrified to see the screen!

SleepingStandingUp · 22/06/2019 11:59

Got scan on Thursday, lots of people know I'm pregnant due to where I've been etc and there's a part of me that just keeps thinking what if, what if... I'm not sure it ever really goes away

megganonion · 22/06/2019 12:06

Hi ladies, found this about nub theory online while looking at gender predictions have become a little obsessed 🙈
I done the baking soda test, with fresh baking soda and it did nothing. Which indicates a girl.. however im not entirely convinced 😂 as i already have 3 boys and odds are is probably another as dh's family is mostly boys (himself and 2 brothers have 8 boys out of 9, 1 dd for eldest brother)
I have my 12 week scan friday coming so will be looking very closely for clues. (Skull and nub) dh is mad for a daughter and i would love one myself but will be happy as long as i get a healthy bubba.
I will be booking a gender scan for the first week in august as my local hospital doesnt tell gender at 20 week scan anyway.
Would love to know if anyone else has tried any of the old wives tales for gender prediction. I also tried the ring test came back girl too, and so did the chinese calendar.

megganonion · 22/06/2019 12:06

Nub theory

DaisyMay25 · 22/06/2019 13:09

@megganonion I did the ramzi theory with mine and that said boy so I'm excited to see this next scan! We're also booking a private scan to find out the gender, I'm too impatient.

Missmonkeypenny · 22/06/2019 13:36

I’ve got a scan booked for 27th July to find out gender Grin I was convinced this baby was a boy early on but I’m not so sure now!

Anon120 · 22/06/2019 14:20

Has anyone had short sharpish cramps at 12 weeks? Haven't had this yet so a bit concerned z

Bentley111 · 22/06/2019 15:30

Aww what a lovely sonographer @MonicaGellerHyphenBing

@DaisyMay25 it's nuts isn't it. I spoke to my dm earlier about it and she's SO excited, she just can't understand why I'm so anxious until I get the NT results back and see a healthy wriggler.

@Anon120 I've had a couple of cramps over the past few days, I'm 11+1. I think hope it's normal!

On another note, feeling so much better today. Went to watch DH at his hobby, sat outside on a nice comfy chair in the sun and now watching my hobby (that I can't participate in right now 😩🤰🏽) on TV with seeded sourdough bread and hummus 🤤🤤 hope I don't crave this all the way through pregnancy, I'll be fat as a house!
