Hi ladies

Thought I’d start a new thread as we were close to filling the last one. Shall we do a little check in?

I’m due 7th Jan with 2nd baby.

@SleepingStandingUp
yes im aware of that....cant wait to see that little bean

Loonyluna16 · 27/05/2019 09:45

@sleepingstandingup thank you, I’m due around the 20th of January, but this one will be a planned section due to the issues with my first labour that ended in emcs so I’ll probably deliver around a week before my due date! We have a little boy- his name is Cairns, We’ve only thought of a girls name we love Caoimhe, my partners family is Irish so it’s fitting that this time around we have an Irish name, as we already have a Scottish name with our son!

My scan at 7+3 (dated as 7+1, but they say variance is normal) Lovely heartbeat! Smile there's also a 10mm fibroid outside but doc is not concerned. Fingers crossed. Thanks

@DaisyMay25 my booking in appointment is Wednesday too 🙂 I feel like the weeks are flying now and excited to get a date for my 12 week scan Xx

MummyBearBoo · 27/05/2019 11:21

7 weeks today - I like Annabelle, Olivia and Isabeau for a girl not many ideas for a boy I like Finlay but DH doesn't! I like longer names that can be shortened but there's hardly any where I like the longer name and shorter name!

AstroKate · 27/05/2019 11:34

Loving the scan photos!

I've got my booking in 1st June. Never had one before so taking notes of all your comments.

We haven't got to names yet-holding on til 12 weeks but we have done some decorating this weekend with what will be the 'nursery' in mind!

SuperStingray · 27/05/2019 11:52

Have any of you with toddlers already found they are picking up on stuff even though you haven't said anything yet? When I first started to feel rough my DD was very cute and affectionate and was giving me lots of cuddles. But now as its dragging on and I'm still not myself she just wants daddy all the time, and doesn't want cuddles with me much. I know its probably normal toddler reaction to sensing everything's different, but it is a bit upsetting.

Hopefully once I'm feeling better she'll go back to herself a bit, although after 12 weeks we'll have to start explaining it to her, which will be interesting.

mynameisMrG · 27/05/2019 11:59

My ds refuses to let me nap @SuperStingray, every time I lay my head down he comes up says ‘wake up’ and tries to lift my head up

I had my appointment with my nurse over 2 weeks ago who said I should just wait for the midwife to call me for a booking but I still haven't heard anything. Is that normal? Am living in SE London and am 8 weeks btw! X

mynameisMrG · 27/05/2019 12:19

Hmm i would have thought you would have heard something by now @Anon120, is it worth ringing your surgery and checking you’ve been referred?

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 27/05/2019 12:33

Yeah I'd check, pre natal bloods are usually taken before 10 weeks so you def need seeing sooner rather than later

DS who is 4 tomorrow has been really clingy for the last month (I'm 7 weeks) like he can smell the competition and is metaphorically peeing up his favourite tree lol. He does keep blowing raspberries on me to make me feel better so he has at least picked up I'm feeling rough. Doesn't stop the 5.40 am wake up!!

leclarke91 · 27/05/2019 15:43

@KMic just wanted to reassure you and let you know that I had brown spotting at 4+6 for 2 days, along with some mild cramps. Then at 6+3 I began having slightly more painful cramps and spotting of brown discharge again. This lasted 3 days. Then on the 4th day I had heavy bright red bleeding with clots. I took myself to A+E and had a scan at EPU which confirmed everything was absolutely fine. Baby was measuring perfectly and had a perfect heartbeat. I then had another 4 days of brown spotting. Which has now FINALLY stopped completely for about 2 days now. Please try not to worry, especially as you're not experiencing heavy bleeding. Even bright red heavy bleeding doesn't necessarily mean you're miscarrying. Sending lots of luck your way 🍀

Izabelus · 27/05/2019 16:33

@Anon120 I live in SW and got the letter from the hospital about 2 and half weeks after the referral letter was sent. It feels like a long wait... (I'm 8 weeks 4 days now) and the dating scan is booked for when I will be 13 weeks, the app with a midwife when I'll be 11 weeks... They must be busy in London Hmm

KMic · 27/05/2019 17:07

Thanks @leclarke91

I have been to the EPU this morning and am extremely pleased to report everything looks perfectly normal and we have a good strong heartbeat! I'm measuring a little less than 7 weeks, more like 6, but she didn't want to put a date on it at this stage. So relieved! They are also seeing me again in 3 weeks time to help with any anxiety after the MMC we had last time. So at least we can go on holiday on Weds and relax a bit knowing we are growing a healthy little bean 😍

How is everyone doing today? Lovely to see some other good scans! Xx

mynameisMrG · 27/05/2019 17:08

That’s lovely news @KMic, seems like we are having a run of good news after a few dark days on hereSmile

Hi all, Im on holiday this week for a wedding- only 6 weeks so not plannjng to tell anyone but worried how to hide not drinking as whole wedding seems to revolve around getting drunk! Night before cocktails, free bar on day & boozy lunch the day after! All sounds fun but think its going to be so obvious Im not drinking, any suggestions for excuses?! Also, any suggestions for being around lots of drunk people? Thanks! xx

megganonion · 27/05/2019 18:08

Hi @popasaurus, i had this at the weekend, wer supposed to be going for a baby shower, but friend ended up going into labour friday night and had a lovely baby boy saturday afternoon, needless to say baby shower (dinner, spa and a night away to relax) was cancelled Sad. Girls decided to go out instead and wet the baby's head. The girls started in rounds so hard to hide not drinking, there was a lot of alcohol poured into the toilet, my sil and mil wer told of the new arrival just before we went out, i drank 7up free most of the night and pretended it was gin Grin. Everyone else was drinking and having a good time thankfully not paying too much attention to what i was drinking, i kept bringing drink to the bathroom and pouring the alcoholic bit down the loo. I felt awful for wasting it but i didn't touch a drop in any of my other 3 pregnancies wasnt going to this time either Wink

Congrats on your good news @KMic, we spoke on the last thread as I also had a mmc in February so I'm pleased to hear things are going well for you so far although I am sure these next few weeks will be difficult to get through.

I'm 6 weeks today and so far doing ok, mostly managing the anxiety although when I wake up each morning my first thought is a desperate wish for some symptoms to make this feel different from last time. I know not everyone gets them but I felt pretty great until my mmc at 8 weeks so it's really stressing me out that I feel pretty much the same this time around. I would give anything for a bit of nausea as crazy as it sounds as it is correlated with more positive outcomes and would make this time around feel different from the last 😩

Fingers crossed for you!

I actually ran a 10k race in central London today which was amazing to take my mind off things - I took it super easy and jogged the whole way round as I can't cope with the fear that pushing myself too hard would be harmful, even though I should be fit enough to handle it.

Just catching up on the thread...

I have my booking in appointment next Friday, think it will make things seem much more real. I am struggling a bit with working full time and running around after a toddler as I feel pretty grim most of the time. I’m not actually being sick but have a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Eating like a horse also!

I just can’t wait to get out of the first trimester but at the same time I don’t want to wish the time away as I know our worlds will be well and truly rocked again and I’m not sure I’m ready for the exhaustion 🙈

Anon120 · 27/05/2019 18:23

@Izabelus ah ok good to know! Will try give the doctors a ring to check this week if I don't hear anything anyway but that's put my mind at ease :) thank you xx

plipliop · 27/05/2019 18:26

Nausea is getting me down today.
Napping a couple of times a day but not helping.
Thank god no work this week!

I know I should be grateful for having symptoms as it's a good sign but I feel awful. Think DH sympathies are running thin. Not much fun to be fair!

mynameisMrG · 27/05/2019 18:30

I think mine is too @plipliop. To be fair to him I’ve done nothing except lie on the sofa today. Have zero energy which is frustrating as I’ve got so much to do over the next few days

Zero energy here too.
Feeling totally sorry for myself!
