Oh Stroan, really hoping all Is ok. It's a good sign the bleeding has reduced. Look how many people had bleeds on the last thread and everything was still ok.

Megan2018 · 09/03/2019 08:51

@Stroan
How scary! Hope all is well with the scan today-its constant worry isn’t it! Odds are it is fine though, don’t panic.

I am feeling rotten today, threw up all my dinner when trying to brush teeth last night. Went to bed with my mouth feeling vile. Then had hunger pains from 2am but just couldn’t eat. Feel really shitty today, low blood sugar, poor sleep and have to go and muck the horse out and then drive down to tell the parents “our news” then face a pub lunch. I just want to curl up.
I thought 2nd trimester was meant to be better?!

boodles101 · 09/03/2019 08:52

stroan don't feel guilty at all. Pregnancy is worrying even when things are all going perfectly. Throw in some horrendous sickness and bleeding and it must just be absolutely terrifying. So moan as much as you want. I hope it goes well at the scan.

eggy that print is amazing. I'd love something like that but not entirely sure that I could do it. Has anyone read about the placenta encapsulation pills too? I would be willing to try that but quite expensive!

DustyDoorframes · 09/03/2019 08:52

Oh stroan what a horrible night!!!!! Your horrific nausea makes you at v low risk of miscarriage- hang on to that tight!!! Thinking of you at your scan this morning.
Welcome iloveewan!

Re placentas, I used to know someone who did the fruit tree thing, then one hot summer went on holiday, and the person who was meant to water the trees forgot, so they died. How guilty would you feel if you'd killed someone's placenta tree???
Ha megan definitely burying it at home over the hospital carpark, tee hee!

MegCharlotte · 09/03/2019 08:53

@Stroan Good luck today, I read your other post at 5am, and was worried for you, as I know that would panic me. However it is a very good sign that the bleeding has stopped and this does seem to happen to others with no negative consequences. Please do update us after the scan.

DustyDoorframes · 09/03/2019 08:56

Cross posted with everyone...
good luck telling your folks @Megan2018 ! Can you get someone else to muck out so you can curl up as long as possible?? Hopefully you'll feel a bit better by the time lunchtime rolls round!

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/03/2019 08:57

boodles there’s been some recent concerns about placenta encapsulation pills and breastfeeding mothers. (I’ll try and find some links).
It’s the placenta detaching from the uterus which kick starts your body into breastfeeding mode, and there’s been concerns voiced about breastfeeding mothers who take placenta pills experiencing low milk supply. The theory is that the body is recognising foetal dna and hormones from the placenta when you ingest the pills and thinks you are still pregnant, so dials down milk production Confused

There doesn’t seem to be a definitive yes or no answer to it at the moment, but I’d err on the side of caution if you’re planning of breastfeeding. Personally I wouldn’t take the pills just in case.
Here’s one article by a lactation consultant about her findings: www.happygoatproductions.com/blog/2017/9/6/a-lactation-consultants-perspective-on-placenta-encapsulation

Stroan · 09/03/2019 09:04

Thanks everyone. I bled in the first trimester with DD and it was obviously fine, but hadn't experienced it in the 2nd trimester. The gush of blood actually woke me up so it was quite dramatic. Poor DD was asleep in my bed so we had to move her to change the sheets.

Good luck today @stroan - I hope the scan gives you good news and peace of mind!

Sorry to hear you've had bad nausea again @Megan2018 , I had to go back to ginger tea and other stuff yesterday after I ate cheese - too much dairy seems to be setting me off and my stomach just wouldn't settle at all! I've found eating smaller portions helps though.

BBell2 · 09/03/2019 09:32

@stroan you poor thing, best of luck today for your scan and we all moan, probably fairly equally, it makes zip difference!

Whisky2014 · 09/03/2019 09:38

@megan2018 good luck with your announcement :) every time you speak about your horse I get jealous. I want a horsey!

Fortheloveofscience · 09/03/2019 09:49

Hope everything’s ok today Stroan.

Fortheloveofscience · 09/03/2019 09:52

@challengeyourreality no, never had anything like it before and I’ve no idea what I’m reacting to. It might be washing powder but that’s not changed. No known allergies at all so I’m a bit Confused.

@iloveewanthedreamsheep yes due date buddies Grin. Think there’s quite a few of us due on 19/09 Smile

Hope everything is ok @stroan, thinking about you Flowers

Stroan · 09/03/2019 15:59

It's all fine, no sign of any bleeding at all in the womb, perfect placenta and baby kicking away.

The sonographer at our local private clinic used to be a midwife so she was able to explain possible reasons for the bleeding - I had really bad thrush last week and that could have damaged the cervix/vagina and caused a slow trickle of blood. We also got a video and a 3d pic of the baby.

Great news @Stroan I've been checking back all day!

I am such a miserable cow again today, pelvis is sore and I keep biting everyone's head off and wanting to burst into tears. At least the older two are away this weekend. May hibernate til September.

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/03/2019 17:40

Great to hear all is well stroan Smile
I’ve spent today with my mum, and it’s made me feel a bit better than she’s now seen DC2 in his full swing “terrible twos” behaviour and doesn’t think I’m crazy and exaggerating. He has morphed into devil child in the space of a couple of weeks.
I know refuse to call him by his name. I’ve renamed him “Diablo” for the foreseeable future until he sorts his shit out Grin

IVEgottheDECAF · 09/03/2019 17:44

Great news stroan Grin

Eggy think your dc2 is same age as my dc4, mine has currently decided sleep is for the week and likes to start each day playing with poo Shock

KnobJockey · 09/03/2019 17:50

Stroan, I'm happy that everything's well, that's great news! And good news that the midwife had possible reasons.

I don't know if I'm feeling movements- I know a few people have said they felt popcorn type, but I've just been out to the shops and all the while it felt like I had a rollercoaster going on underneath my bellybutton- like I was going over a bump/dip in the car. It felt to me like the baby is twisting/ somersaulting around, but I think it should be too early to feel that. Am I crazy?

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/03/2019 18:02

IVEgot
I’ve heard so many people talk about their kids playing with pooConfused I guess I’ve got lucky with my two as I’ve never had the privilege Blush
DS is suddenly obsessed with his willy though Hmm He’s recently got into the habit of top-flapping it in his nappy and peeing up towards the ceiling without even touching it Hmm

happydays00 · 09/03/2019 18:08

@Stroan what a relief for you!

I didn't even see the placenta after DD, I don't think I'll be doing anything this time either but nice ideas!

14 weeks today and nothing really to report, nausea gradually seems to be abating (long may it continue!!!)
