Twittle my DC2 was 2 weeks earlier than DC1.
I was induced with DC1 because waters broke and nothing happened for 48 hours, but DC2 was spontaneous labour.
I hope DC3 stays in for at least 36 weeks, as I’m comfortable birthing at home from 36+0 like I did with DC2, but wouldn’t be comfortable at home any earlier than that.

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/03/2019 15:46

I would like this one to stay put until 1/9 so 39+3. Just because i would rather a september baby than an august

boodles101 · 18/03/2019 16:36

I was only 5lb something born and 5ft4 size 6. DH was 6lb something and isn't particularly tall either. Yet I ended up with an 8lb2 baby! Wasn't expecting that!
DECAF I really wanted to have a Sept baby too but have read that twins more than likely come around 36/37 weeks. I'd have to make it to 38 to make Sept 1st! Not impossible but unlikely so I've given up on that.

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/03/2019 16:40

I am sure by the time we reach august ill be fed up and want an august baby Grin

TwittleBee · 18/03/2019 16:47

Ah interesting there is a bit of difference with subsequent births then

Ah yeah of course boodles101 they like to deliver them early don't they!

I honestly wouldn't mind an August baby, would mean that financially it would work better for us. But then again would love an older in the year child

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/03/2019 16:51

Tbh i already have a summer born dc and it has no effect on him at school (he isnt august born though)

MyBreadIsEggy · 18/03/2019 17:19

Totally off subject....
But has anyone done the Chinese gender predictor calendar thing yet? Grin
It’s correct for DC1, wrong for DC2, and it’s telling me I’m expecting a girl this time 🤷🏻‍♀️
I can’t do the nub theory thing either, as we appear to have the only scan picture on this planet where the “nub” isn’t visible Hmm

TwittleBee · 18/03/2019 17:23

MyBreadIsEggy yup! It was right for DS. this time it reckons a girl. On the nub theory though everyone is saying boy. Going on old wives tale it looks to be a girl. Think Nub theory more likely though?

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/03/2019 18:02

Mine says girl

Anyone know how to look back at previous pregnancies?

Easterbuns1 · 18/03/2019 18:14

Chinese gender thing is right for one of mine and wrong for the other.

With regards to growth scans they aren't always wrong. I had to deliver at 37 weeks due to my eldest having IUGR, scans showed him to be around 5lb and he was 5lb4oz. Gained weight much, much quicker once he was out. Youngest was 6lb 7.

challengeyourreality · 18/03/2019 18:35

Never heard of the Chinese gender predictor but will be looking for that tonight! I feel like I'm having a girl but either would be a blessing. I organised all of my old baby clothes and have plenty of clothes for both genders so I'm prepared either way.
Pram wise (I also love a pram!), with dc1 I had a beautiful Joolz pram with Japanese lining and brown leather handles. I sold it after dc2 was born to buy a double pram and I think I will get another Joolz this time as I loved the style and quality and steering. It's height adjustable so DP can use it at 6'4 and I can use it comfortably at 5'4.
Those looking for birth stories - DC1 was born on EDD and was 4kg. She was predicted to be much smaller from her scans so it was a big surprise to everyone and her shoulders were stuck in my pelvis. DC2 was also 4kg and born 39+4 but via CS as his head wouldn't engage despite me being fully dilated and they were concerned if they attempted a VB that the shoulders would be stuck again in the pelvis. I just learned this when my new MW read my notes to me.
Sling-wise I still have my trusty ErgoBaby carrier and I love it. So practical and easy to use. Probably been my best purchase ever.

MyBreadIsEggy · 18/03/2019 19:05

IVEgot every Chinese lunar calendar predictor I’ve seen asks for the age you were when you fell pregnant, and the month you conceived, so you can work those out and put them in, or find them on a table - whichever kind of format it’s showing Smile

Megan2018 · 18/03/2019 19:09

Won several bargain maternity jeans on ebay for knocking about with the horse now my jods don’t do up. First pair arrived today, fit perfectly, mint condition and less than £5.
They will not be going near the horse! Grin

Surprised they fit already though-have clearly grown!

boodles101 · 18/03/2019 19:56

I'm Feeling much better this evening so thanks all for the well wishes. Got my nhs screening results through too and low risk for all tests for both babies so that's a relief. It's made me wonder if I would get the same result for both babies if they were identical or if that has no bearing on it at all.
Feeling quite crampy since this afternoon so assuming things are growing and stretching around in there.

KnobJockey · 18/03/2019 20:40

Megan I wonder if we were bidding against each other, I've done exactly the same Grin
Ordered 4 pairs of JoJo maman Bebe trousers/ jeans, two size 12, two size 14. One pair of each size fits, the other two are too small- how does that even work! Not particularly keen on any, but at least I can sit down. Got some more jeans on the way, a work top and some maternity pjs.

DustyDoorframes · 18/03/2019 20:54

That's good news @boodles101 ! I've been wondering that too Re twins- I guess the bloods and your age will be the same for both??
Had my scan finally, and all is well, and just one person in there! Got the results for the combined chromosomal stuff instantly too- really low risk for everything which was a v pleasant surprise given my age.
Oddly, I'm down for a load of extra "proper" scans because of having preeclampsia with DC1- despite not being given then with DC2! So at the moment I've got double scans at 28 and 32 weeks- both in the BP clinic and in the scanning unit?!?! Need to ask the BP people if this is really necessary...
@ZigZaggyZoo been thinking if you all day!
If I remember rightly there's one more of us to scan this Friday- and then we are all over the line, phew!!!

KnobJockey · 18/03/2019 21:11

Great to hear Dusty! Did you get a good picture? I think we're all a third of the way there now, how scary!

boodles101 · 18/03/2019 21:12

dusty yes I do wonder how it's worked out with twins. 1 had a NT of 1.4 and the other was 1.5 which would probably account the the slight difference in overall risk scores. But it's such a tiny measurement that it could just be the accuracy of scanning. So who knows!! Few more weeks and we'll know for sure.

Taylou · 18/03/2019 21:28

Oh I like the look of that close caboo - we don't have a sling like that in the US. I think the closest would be a baby k'tan but the caboo looks less fiddly and more secure. I think I'll need to ask around my friends with babies and try some slings on, I'm not sure what I'll find comfortable (yet alone what baby will like).

Glad I'm not the only one buying things early for a good bargain Blush. I found the cradle I wanted basically new going for a steal on a facebook group... so that's next to the bed now... only six months to go, whoops!

Lavellan · 19/03/2019 06:58

I'm so emosh this week if I woke up with a cradle next to me I'd start each day crying. I've never been like this in my life lol.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/03/2019 07:01

Bless you lavellan

I havent been too bad hormone wise yet although i had a bit of the RAGE the other day!

15+5

TwittleBee · 19/03/2019 07:19

We made the mistake of buying a new cradle, it was 2nd hand from a friend so got it real cheap, as soon as we found out we were finally expecting our 2nd baby. As that ended in a MMC it then meant I really was crying every morning as I kept waking up seeing that empty and I was empty too. Was awful. DH was going to put it away in the loft but I didn't want it to go, weirdly felt attached to it even though it made me sad.

Sorry that was a bit emotional.

14 weeks exactly today though and so excited for our next scan in 3 weeks.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/03/2019 07:31

4 weeks and 2 days til we find out i we are pink or blue Shock i really dont mind but looking forward to finding out. My one and only dd will be miffed if she is getting a fourth brother though! Last time she (aged 3) said "But i ordered a girl baby!"

I havent bought anything. I sorted through the baby clothes i have left from dc4, most of it is 6m+ so i will need plenty of small stuff either way. We have a cot, baby swing, monitor, lots of bedding and baby toys. I do have a moses basket but its been in the loft and i know when we got the xmas decs down alot of things were damp so i might need a new moses.
My big spend will be the pram. I am eyeing up atm M+P Sola2, Cosatto Wow and Nuna Mixx. Has anyone had any of these before? My last baby had a Cosatto Giggle2 and outgrew it really quickly which makes me worry about the Wow.

Tefiti2 · 19/03/2019 08:39

Has anyone found any maternity skinny jeans that are actually skinny yet? I’ve sent 4 pairs back so far, I just want to find one trusty pair...!
Just to let you know that the positive birth mama’s digital hypnobirthing pack is on sale today at only £12, I’ve bought it because it’s a total bargain and apparently really useful!

MyBreadIsEggy · 19/03/2019 08:45

I think I might be the only person on this thread who is buying literally nothing for this neglected third child Blush
I’ve never used a Moses basket/cradle with either of the other two, so won’t be buying one this time. I’ve got a next-2-me crib, but that ended up as an expensive bedside table last time. When the time comes, I’ll move DS out of the cotbed, into a single bed and put the sides back on so new baby can use it.
If it’s a boy, I’ve got all DS’s clothes from 3-6 months until now, so will only need to buy newborn stuff and some nappies. If it’s a girl, I still only need clothes and nappies!
IVEgot will probably back me up here when I say you soon learn after the first baby not to bother buying all the stuff that’s on the “must have” lists for a new baby because half of it never gets used anyway Confused
