Damn, just got a message saying my first vial of blood for NIPT didn't have enough DNA in it to test accurately. They have another vial to test but puts the results back a bit more. How annoying.

DustyDoorframes · 15/03/2019 13:45

lavellan how annoying!!!!!!!
Hopefully they will fast track the second lot!
stroan I meant to say ages ago (this thread moves so quick!!!) all that brilliant exercise etc in December isn't wasted!! It will have set you up much better to get through your horrific first tri!! Plenty of time to get back into the swing of it when you are not flattened by HG!!

Megan2018 · 15/03/2019 13:59

See if this works -
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VUDuTLeibUnnaCWCjb-pqUe4Wnq-fTau4HJgmE1XE3c/edit#gid=0

@Twittlebee set it up, I'm not sure why you can't access it @karigan195. it works for me on iphone, plus on Google or IE.

KnobJockey · 15/03/2019 14:41

Well I couldn't wait to find out so I've just rang and the reception checked my notes. They want to see me after the anatomy scan to check the results of that regarding growth, and also my cervix after the lletz. The receptionist also said it looks like I'll be having regular growth scans from 28 weeks, given the growth issues of DD. Seems very strange to me, given that was related to the parvovirus, but better safe than sorry. But it might mean that I'm in the labour ward instead.

MegCharlotte · 15/03/2019 14:43

Ooo what's the spreadsheet for..?

KnobJockey · 15/03/2019 14:45

Meg, it's due dates, symptoms, how many babies- not necessary, but was good early on to compare symptoms against others

DustyDoorframes · 15/03/2019 15:04

Also very useful to help remember who is who and due/scanning etc when...

DustyDoorframes · 15/03/2019 15:07

KJ surely as long as the scans look good you should be fine for the MLU?? You're just in the system now so you are getting a bit more attention! I'm the same due to BP history, but still scheduled for a homebirth, most likely.

kyles101 · 15/03/2019 15:10

Love a spreadsheet, just added myself and pod to it.

Is it just me or is this limbo time incredibly... boring... everyone has been told now, I just look fat, not pregnant, the few symptoms I had have all gone except lingering tiredness... 20 week scan not for years - 15th April... boring, sigh.

Lavellan · 15/03/2019 15:48

I still have that fraud feeling and probably will until I can feel movement I reckon.

kyles101 · 15/03/2019 15:59

Lavellen yes completely. I also think It'll be much less of a worry once I can feel movement. I was trying to talk hubby into an extra scan next weekend - I said he could find out the gender if he let me have one but he was having none of it - party pooper!

MegCharlotte · 15/03/2019 16:54

@kyles101
YES!! I've only felt that over the last few days, but totally feel bored and like I'm not really pregnant and that it's all going really slowly!
I think after the 20 week scan it will turn things up a notch!

Dipsy77 · 15/03/2019 16:57

Hi all

How do you get your info to save on the spreadsheet ? Smile

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 15/03/2019 17:04

@KnobJockey I think the nub is the bit I’ve circled here (could be totally wrong though!)

@Dipsy77
It auto saves when you close it.

Dipsy77 · 15/03/2019 18:26

Thanks sorted now Smile

Fortheloveofscience · 15/03/2019 18:38

Today has been brutal. 3 hours sleep and constant knawing worry that I’ve hurt not-quite-yet-a-bump. Sitting on the train trying to hold back tears, logically I know that everything’s probably fine and is just exhaustion and hormones but I can’t quite seem to get a grip. 3 weeks til my next midwife appt and 7 weeks until the next scan I don’t quite see how I can do this.

Really hoping I’ll start to feel movements before 20 weeks. Tempted to buy a home Doppler but know it’ll only make me worse...

Sorry for the moan.

Whisky2014 · 15/03/2019 18:46

Had my 16b week app today. I thought they'd take more blood but no, that's 24 weeks.
I also finally got my notes hehe
Re. Breastfeeding..the midwife actually reassured me that they know babies may only feed once a day initially and may struggle. They've never had to feed before so can't just expect them to do it. Also I mentioned delays to milk coming in and that's also a natural process, she agreed. So im happier now knowing at least my midwife is on the side of breastfeeding and won't make me go to formula if there's initial difficulty. She also gave me a book and a CD about it.
She also said babies store fat deposits especially for the first few days of their life.
I also mentioned the benefits of breastfeeding being free and she said they aren't allowed to promote that even though they really want to. Weird!
Got my whoopping cough jab next week.

I also tried to get maternity clothes from m and co or peacocks but neither have maternity section...there's no other shops in that town! Anyhoo I did buy some normal tops from peacocks and the manager gave me £5 off purely because they didn't have a maternity section...that was nice :)

Stuffing myself on pepperoni pizza now!

Whisky2014 · 15/03/2019 18:49

Oh and I'm pretty sure ive started to feel movements. Just feels like little jumps/flutter things.

fortheloveofscience please don't worry I'm sure all is ok xx

Easterbuns1 · 15/03/2019 19:06

@Fortheloveofscience would a private scan booked in the middle of the 7 weeks be an option? Just to break up the wait a wee bit? You've had such a scare with what happened last night it's no wonder you are stressing, and if you are anything like me the lack of sleep always amplifies any problems by 100! I hope you can put your feet up tonight.

kyles101 · 15/03/2019 19:16

@MegCharlotte having said everything is boring the last few days I've just had a full on melt down and cry in the kitchen over absolutely nothing... poor dh 🤷‍♀️ and I think I may have felt a fluttering movement when I got home from work, it was just a weird sensation and kind of like an eye twitch but deep inside and only lasted maybe 2 seconds but it was so strange I'm hoping that's what it was - or I'm deluding myself just to relieve the boredom!! 15 weeks tomorrow so maybe? Although it is my first so I think the books say not to expect to feel anything for a few more weeks for number 1.

Forthelove you must be beside yourself... as others have said and you know deep down, realistically everything is going to be absolutely fine, no harm done, but I think there must be a special kind of crazy that accompanies being pregnant. Would your hospital do another scan for you in a few days to put your mind at rest?

DustyDoorframes · 15/03/2019 19:19

Oh @Fortheloveofscience I'm not surprised today was grim!!! Just the lack of sleep alone, let along the reason for the lack of sleep!!! I'm well impressed that you made it into work!If you are still struggling in a few days you can ring the midwife sooner, you don't have to wait for the appointment. What did the obstetrician say last night?
Fingers crossed you manage to get a good sleep tonight!!

MegCharlotte · 15/03/2019 19:31

@kyles101 Oh no! Pregnancy hormones on high alert for you today! That's amazing about the flutters (if that's what they were), they tend to say if you think you've felt them, then that's why they are! I'm 15 weeks today (we are so close!), my first and also have read it might take a little longer, but everyone is different! I know for a fact any weird feelings I'm getting is definitely wind... poor my dh!

@Fortheloveofscience I've just read back to find out what happened and I feel terrible for you!! It's such an easy thing to do that any one of us could have done the same. Try to rest up this weekend if you can. I agree that you going to work after that and 3 hours sleep is impressive!! Super mum. I hope all is ok and I'm sure it is x

boodles101 · 15/03/2019 19:50

I have also felt a 'flutter' just once a day for the last 3 days. All three times I have thought, was that movement? But as it's just been the once during the day I'm not convinced. Or maybe I've just been busy and only noticed it when I've sat down to relax. Can't remember what it was like last time!

KnobJockey · 15/03/2019 20:25

I think ive mentioned it but I think I'm feeling movements, but not popcorn type, instead I'm getting rolling/ dip sensations, like going down a small rollercoaster. Particularly strong when I'm sat in the car and evenings.
