@Happy2be I have added you to the Facebook group but I can't get on the Mumsnet webpage without a million pop ups.

If you don't get an email in your inbox or junk mail then let me know and I'll try again.

@scotsbaby2 I'm having a boy too so that can be added to the list of boys 😃

CautiousOptimist · 24/03/2019 21:27

Hi all, I can’t keep up with the thread so haven’t been on for a while - I’m more active on the FB group - but just wanted to update the list, I’m having a boy. 😀
Lovely to see everyone’s scan news coming in.

Jelliestogether · 25/03/2019 11:03

Sorry it's taken me a long time to reply! After a 3 hour wait at the hospital, they said they weren't sure why my leg was numb but they were pretty sure it wasn't a dvt which was great news. My leg is still numb, the pins and needles is getting less and the numbness has moved and is a bit less so hopefully it'll just go away and be one of those strange things that happened!

QueenofFox · 25/03/2019 11:27

Congrats on all the boys! And thanks for the lovely messages about amnio results!

EverythingNow · 25/03/2019 17:49

@scotsbaby2 next time you update the list please can you put me down as team 💙

All good at the scan and baby weighs 1lb already!!

ScotsBaby2 · 25/03/2019 18:26

All good at our 20 week scan (although only 19 weeks). Baby was in an awkward position and also very nosey so we didn't get a decent picture. All measurements and organs looked good.
I have an anterior placenta so at the front of my tummy. She said I shouldn't think this means I will feel reduced movement more often but it might be duller than my previous pregnancy.

We didn't find out so staying firmly team 💛 I was tempted in the car.

Great to see all the positive news and colour updates here ❤️

Last week I mentioned I would find out about the lightening crotch. I described the pain to the doc as a cramping/pinching spasm in vagina and she asked does it feel like an electric shock and I said that is what it feels like and she said it is common and is likely to be because of baby pressing on a nerve. She also said something which reassured me. Any pain which isn’t constant and comes and goes and those triggered by any kind of movement is generally safe and likely to do with baby movement or growth.

Btw I’ve been one of those super anxious inactive pregnant ladies having done almost no exercise since testing positive. I finally took the plunge and went for a pregnancy yoga class. For anyone else thinking about it I’d say definitely give it a go. The postures are nice and easy and relaxing and gave me a bit of confidence in myself and my body.

Good morning all.

A few strange things happened yesterday that I just want to get off my chest. .

  1. I work in a sales office, the company is a family run company and the boss is in his 70's and no way is PC. He commented on my bump yesterday but also said what else gets bigger on a woman in Pregnancy ? I looked a bit puzzled. He then want on to say boobs! And by looking and knowing you for as long as I have. I know you're pregnant now!

It just makes me feel super conscious now. I am struggling with getting into my work clothes as it is!

  1. I can't believe I am going to say this but I can feel baby move and it feels like I am being tickled from the inside and I think it's a little weird and it creeps me out a bit. I guess it's just something I need to get used to?

So happy to hear everyone's news. Me and DH aren't going to find out what we're having. Scan on 11th April. Due 26/08 .

Have a good day Mummy's!

Snowflake9 · 26/03/2019 07:55

**Any pain which isn’t constant and comes and goes and those triggered by any kind of movement is generally safe and likely to do with baby movement or growth.

That's really reassuring to know 💐💐

ScotsBaby2 · 26/03/2019 11:41

How are all the 20 week scans going?
Who's still waiting?
Who's found of 💙💖?

Anyone started talking names?

OP posts:
bubblegumunicorn · 26/03/2019 14:05

I've finally started feeling little movements now too I have an anterior placenta too so its been really small until this week shes squirming all over the place today! We've picked her name out and DH made the mistake of telling everyone at work...he's getting mixed reviews on the name and he started doubting it 🤦🏼‍♀️ they are coming round to it though it seams to be a grower! Haha 😄

sacrecoeur0712 · 26/03/2019 15:21

@ScotsBaby2 pleased to hear your scan went well. I'm still waiting for mine - 8th April. Just rearranged it from the 12th as I have another clinic appt that day, so 4 days less to wait.

We've been discussing names and have a favourite which DH is convinced is the one... I'm not 100% sure but everything else I suggest gets vetoed! I try not to discuss with anyone else as people put me off with their opinionated views. I find people are less likely to say they don't like it when it's attached to a small person!

QueenofFox · 26/03/2019 16:28

Scan today and all looking good! So sweet. Really detailed scan so saw lots! Congrats everyone on scans so far.

We've got two names but not 100% on either. The girls want to call him George Ezra! Really struggling as we were totally expecting a girl and had our name picked!

That's so weird about people in the work
place commenting on boobs. What's wrong with people?!

EverythingNow · 26/03/2019 17:02

We have no names at all! Again thought it would be another girl so didn't really think of boys names.

Snowflake9 · 26/03/2019 18:53

I wore the baggiest top I could find today. I'm 5ft 1 and a size 8 so it's hard anyway to find clothes to compliment my height. Now I just look like a sack of spuds!

So nice to have some energy back though. I can actually get stuff done in the mornings without laying in until 20 minutes before needing to leave. Haha!

keebo · 26/03/2019 20:13

@Snowflake9 I'm the same (though I pretend I'm 5ft2!). Everything looks like I'm wearing someone else's clothes. For now I've bought some size 10 university dresses from tkmaxx which are stretchy and seem to sort of work over leggings. Not catwalk style fashion though and I haven't tried them at work yet as I can still fit work triusers.
I can't believe colleagues - or worse bosses - are commenting on boobs. That's awful. It is puzzling how people see pregnant women as public property with the whole rubbing the stomach thing. So far noone has tried that on me, anyone else?
Our scan is on Thursday, exactly wk20. 2 sleeps to go!

Snowflake9 · 26/03/2019 21:59

I have tried to go up a size but it's just huge everywhere else! So leggings and long tops it is for me.

My parents live in Canada and we're home for the first time this year. The first thing my mum said "god you're fat!!" Gee. Thanks ma.

Will take a look in TK maxx at the weekend :)

stylix1981 · 27/03/2019 00:06

Has anyone but a bump band either in this pregnancy or previous ones and has some suggestions?

Just to add for support and relief of aches and pains.

I bought the one from mothercare for £12 but have found that when i sit down or lean over the bottom edge where the elastic is rolls over and causes it to dig into my tum causing more pain.

bubblegumunicorn · 27/03/2019 07:37

I have some dresses from M&S they are stretchy and long so are fab for pregnancy I had the plus of loosing almost 2 stone at the start of this pregnancy so a lot of my regular clothes are fitting nicely still including my favourite jeans which have started falling down 🤦‍♀️

Jelliestogether · 27/03/2019 09:28

Had my 20 week scan yesterday, managed to convince DH to stay team yellow for the time being! All looked good on the scan, was being a little monkey and not moving arms out of the way so had to do lots of wiggling and went for a walk but we got there in the end. We have another scan next week for the planned cardiac scan.

Curlywurlywooo · 27/03/2019 22:53

@stylix1981 I’ve actually started wearing a “Secret Saviours” bump band. It provides some support but it’s also supposed to help prevent stretch marks! I’m not bothered if I do get them or not but I like using the creams/gels it comes with and it feels nice and secure when I wear it Smile

Snowflake9 · 27/03/2019 22:58

Will have to take a look at that bump band! Sounds good.

Anyone elses DH put off of DTD ? I just tried to initiate and he said it felt weird for him because of the baby. Told him baby is safe, tucked away behind a closed door and it won't harm them. Although I think he's finding it hard to see my body change (hello!! It's happening to me!) I don't know. I just reassured him and said that there is no way I am going through the next 20 weeks without nookie and will only be getting bigger so get over it. Hahaha.

stylix1981 · 27/03/2019 23:15

@Snowflake9 my other half was the same when i first mentioned having sex.

It took me several days to talk him round in the end i resorted to showing him info from one of my apps regarding having sex while pregnant and that its perfectly safe.

Maybe you could try that.

Curlywurlywooo · 27/03/2019 23:24

@Snowflake9 I actually find it’s me who’s less interested! Not because I feel weird doing it with baby in there or anything, I’m just not horny Sad I still enjoy DTD and do orgasm but the desire to do it in the first place isn’t there 😂 I was rather hoping I’d be one of those pregnant ladies who feel hornier due to the hormones me blood flow etc.. sadly not!
