Hi,

It looks like we filled up the last thread before anyone had a chance to start a new one, so here we go! Hope everyone finds their way over.

@twittlebee could you possibly link to the Google Doc again?

@karigan195 so glad you were seen again and got a bonus scan. Lovely to get a bit of reassurance too, hope the next 7 days go quickly for you.

Those ladies with BP issues (think @DustyDoorframes and @Megan2018) what would you do in my situation? I had high BP in last pregnancy and was on meds, midwife has suggested I take 75mg from 12 weeks as per NICE guidelines. Problem is that I’m not due to see an obstetric consultant about BP until 9 April when I’ll be 17 weeks... I read that the aspirin should be started before 16 weeks really. Should I wait until I’ve seen the consultant and see what he/she advises or should I just crack on with it from 12 weeks (end of this week)? Wondering if I should just phone my GP to get advice but think they might just say wait to see consultant and I’ll bricking myself I’ll end up with full blown preeclampsia this time

Hsunshine · 04/03/2019 17:36

@whisky2014 I am getting a gender/sexing scan at 17 weeks, they do 4D which are so cute Smile

DustyDoorframes · 04/03/2019 17:42

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri I've just this minute left my BP appointment at one of the world's major antenatal research hospitals- they do aspirin from 10 weeks (although they told my midwife I could start it sooner if I wanted, when she booked my appointment for 10 weeks) they've given me 150mg (so twice the dose I expected) daily in the evenings, plus a high dose vit D and calcium supplement. This is all just preventative, my BP is perfect at the moment, and is apparently based on a big trial they've recently finished which showed that a higher aspirin dose was better, and that there is a connection to vitD/calcium deficiency.
I've a history of v mild, late on preeclampsia in my first pregnancy and high BP v late on in my second. In your shoes I'd start aspirin ASAP, unless you know aspirin is a bad plan for you due to other issues.

DustyDoorframes · 04/03/2019 17:44

Ps @BridgetJonesDaiquiri apparently in subsequent pregnancies your BP/preeclampsia is likely to be milder and come on later.

Well it's done 😊

We had the loveliest sonographer and nurse, they found the heartbeat straight away. Such a relief. Measuring a bit ahead of dates, so now looking at the 13th September 😁 little one was sleeping for most of the scan bur had a bit of a kick around at the end when we were looking at their suprisingly large feet - definitely takes after me and my DH 😎

Excellent news for all the happy scans! @TwittleBee what a relief for you, I've been looking out for your update.

I have my scan tomorrow, expecting to be around 13+3. Had a private scan last Tuesday just to check all ok as we were visiting DH's relatives this weekend and wanted to have had a scan before we told them.

My sickness and nausea has been awful this weekend, I'm hoping it was due to the flight/long car journey and the nausea/sickness will abate again now we've returned to normality!

DustyDoorframes · 04/03/2019 19:15

Yay @GemmaJen!
Phew, that's a good batch of us safely over the line!

Fortheloveofscience · 04/03/2019 19:17

Really pleased to read all the good news (though bizarrely it’s made me more nervous about my scan on Friday, which makes no sense!).

I’m now 11+3, and feeling worse now than I did last week, did this happen to anyone else? I’ve got more energy but feel so sick.

And my hives are getting worse despite the steroid cream so I’m struggling to sleep because I’m itchy, but I’m too scared to take the piriton the doctor suggested because it’s not been proven safe and the internet says to avoid it in first trimester SadBlush.

Easterbuns1 · 04/03/2019 19:36

@Whisky2014 I've just booked mine for 16+2, so just 3 weeks away. My anomaly scan is at 21+5 so a wee bit of a gap between the two.

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/03/2019 19:54

Scan all good here too

Took over 45 min to get measurements as baby very uncooperative

Dates put forward. Went in thinking i was 12+5 to be told i am 13+4 so thats nice after last scan when i got put backwards nearly two weeks

EDD now 5/9, anyone else due on this date?

Easterbuns1 · 04/03/2019 19:57

@IVEgottheDECAF I'm the day after you

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/03/2019 19:59

Ooo close easter were your other dc on time?

Whisky2014 · 04/03/2019 20:03

Hsunshine and easterbuns oh that's nice. I think I will book one! :)

Easterbuns1 · 04/03/2019 20:07

@IVEgottheDECAF elective sections so this one will be the same, probably at 39 weeks!

maddiecxx · 04/03/2019 20:20

Hey all mind if I join?? I'm due 21st September. I had my dating scan today and they put me back 10 days!! I thought I was 12+5 but I'm 11+2🙄 everything was all good with baby though was wriggling around everywhere so was hard to get a good pic at all, so I know it's a long shot but anyone have any guesses on the sex🤷🏼‍♀️😂 I'm so impatient 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/03/2019 20:22

Ah i see easter mine have been between 1 and 12 days early, i think i would prefer this one not to sneak into august though tbh

Hsunshine · 04/03/2019 21:00

Does anyone struggle to sleep on their side? I’ve always slept on my tummy before so now adjusted to sleeping on my back but no matter how much I try I can’t fall asleep on my side

TwittleBee · 04/03/2019 21:02

Yeah I'm like that here Hsunshine weirdly had no issue with DS sleeping on my left side but best I can do is sleep on my right but keep going back naturally onto my stomach!

Trying to not freak out as did just have my scan but this bleeding has just worse! Urgh! Wish they could have found the source, maybe I'll phone my MW when I'm back from holiday on Saturday

DustyDoorframes · 04/03/2019 21:19

Yay @IVEgottheDECAF - and woot to gaining a week!
Welcome (and yay scan!) @maddiecxx
Argh @TwittleBee that's rough!!!!! V hard to relax when it's not been explained. Hopefully a holiday will give you some downtime which might help???

ColdCottage · 04/03/2019 21:26

Feeling scared. Just had about a table spoon of fresh blood. 😢

My GP friend says it might all be fine if that's all but now I've convinced myself my tummy is cramping.

I had my scan last week and all looked well.

Has anyone else had this and is currently ok?

maddiecxx · 04/03/2019 21:59

@DustyDoorframes thank you!! X

TwittleBee · 04/03/2019 22:08

So true DustyDoorframes - I think getting away from the norm will help plus the PILs have said they'll pay for everything whilst we are away, thankfully!

ColdCottage I did bleed with DS quite a bit in pregnancy, was told I had an irritated cervix so could hopefully just be that for you. Might be worth giving your MW or EPU a call though to see if you can get another scan to check?

ColdCottage · 04/03/2019 22:18

Thanks @TwittleBee I have had a bit more blood just waiting now. Will self refer for a scan in the morning. Fingers crossed it's tomorrow. Just waiting the night seems an age.

Karigan195 · 05/03/2019 07:04

Lucked out on eBay. Bid on a bundle of maternity gear and got it for £29. Turned up yesterday. At least 8 dresses including 3 suitable for work. And about the same for tops. Some are nursing clothes too. Only one I didn’t like and would never wear except if you paid me 😉

Megan2018 · 05/03/2019 07:16

@TwittleBee
Great news about your scan, sorry you are still bleeding but it has to be good that baby unaffected. Enjoy your break!
