my my we are chatty today

well as for maternity clothes i got a few cheap bits from peacocks, found their matenity dresses and normal but bigger size leggins really comfy together so have been living in those and some 3/4 maternity combat things only about £10 a pair got 3 of those, oh and those lovely 3/4 linen trousers from primark with the stretchy panel i mentioned ages ago, sooooo comfy and they mkae me look pregnant and not fat.

as for hospital stay im thinkingof staying 2 nights (want to find out price of private room though) i stayed in 5 days by choice with dd1 as was on my own and wanted to have their support(if u can call it that) when my milk came in, and knew there would be noone at home cooking my meals for methey put me in a private room thugh(i was only 17 so they wanted to hide me)

i rushed sriaght home withh dd2 born in morning and home by tea but regretted it because she wanted feeding in night and wouldnt take it exH at the time said oh just give her a botle and that was that she never had breast agin, so want to stay for feeding support really.

hope everyone is well oh almost forgot lo did big kick yesterday that i felt on my hand hope dp around next time so h can feel it been doing it thismorning too

anyway going to watch some loose women

MotherofZ · 17/07/2007 13:16

Fave drink atm is cranberry juice mixed with up or sprite.

Beanstermummy · 17/07/2007 13:35

afternoon peoples. Just a quick one as I'm off to the Physio in half an hour - finally!!! SPD is really crap at the mo but hopefully get some oxercises etc to do.

Had 20 week scan yesterday and even though it's the second time it still amazes me the diff between the 12 week on and 20 - fingers toes and everything really everything seemed ok though so smiles all round really. Were really runnign alte so ended up taking dd with us (26 moths) and she wsa fab - kept asking what the lady was doing to mummy tummy and reminding Dh that baby button was in mummy's tummy - slight welling up there as I'm sure you can imagine.

Anyway - only had time for aquick read over

Claraq and others - I had an emergency CS last time after getting to 9cm but then nothing for 7 hyrs! Consultant last week said no reason at all why I can't go for VBAC but they will want to see regular progress and will try and avoid induction if possible if i'm runnign opver - but fingeres crossed. As with a few of you - the recovery bit was the bummer for me - and to do that with a 2 yrs old nutter running all over the place will just not be fun. I just keep thinking of my big sister who had horrid first birth which ended in CS (only getting to 4cm) but then DS2 popped out in less than 2 hrs!!

Happy thoughts to you all today

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 13:49

Oh, Mad4girls I love Loose Women esp Coleen... hate being at work depriving me of such entertaining TV. MN is a little like Loose Women do you not think

Neuro · 17/07/2007 13:51

Beanstermummy i am now envious of your scan and everyone elses...i want the baby to come now. I'm already bored of the waiting and got AGES to go.

Sorry about poo comments. It IS fascinating sometimes though.

Mixedmama - i had some probs drinking water a while back so just kept adding a bit of oj or lemon juice that you can buy in those squeezy lemon shaped bottles. Helped a lot.

Thanks for the Facebook help too, i am already swamped with messages so will do that now.

Neuro · 17/07/2007 13:52

Loose women - that one that sings on cruise ships, maybe called Jane? DEF a man in drag...They all wear SO much make up

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 13:54

Will def try the lemon or OJ, for the record am completely addicted to OJ and according to old wives tales that means a girl.i just keep drinking sprite so bad, byt cant help it.

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 13:57

They had a debate about make up a few weeks back and Carol the bob cut one was the only one who said she doesnt bother sometimes, that Jane said she does nothing without a full face.....and I mean a full face!

Neuro · 17/07/2007 13:58

ooh ooh another handy neuro tip: i would like to be guzzling pop til it runs down my chin. But all that sugar, bad, but fizzy water totally does the trick for me. I just pretend it's a lovely bottle of coke (which prior to preg i would never consider drinking).

having a real coffee in the morning. I know you're supposed to not consume caffeine, but all i'm doing is waking the bubba up to let him/her know it is morning time. i'm training him/her already. I WILL WIN - it needs to know this

Neuro · 17/07/2007 13:58

yeah well, Jane needs to cover up her stubble

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 13:59

Talkign of not being allowed to guzzle certain things - I has a 99 from the ice cream man the other and midwife said a big no no, but was so good and had been craving for ages.

Nbg · 17/07/2007 14:01

I have to admit to eating pate again

Cant help it. Its so yummy. But I've been told so long as I dont go mad with it it isnt bad.

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 14:06

I think that is the key isnt it, not doing it constantly. I cant remember the last time I ever had an ice cream man ice cream probably when I was ten so my craving is satisfied now.

MotherofZ · 17/07/2007 14:07

ohhh- why no ice cream???

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 14:10

She salmonella, i think wasnt really listening very well as she was saying no when i really wanted it - also hygiene i remember her saying that.

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 14:11

My friends mum told me to eat liver if I have low iron levels.... she just laughed when i said they dont recommend liver.

thelady · 17/07/2007 14:13

Just got some black jersey trous from Next. Finally - a pair that is big enough for my legs, but doesn't fall off the rest of me

Still no wiggles from tadpole here - perhaps because I'm long-waisted and there's more room in there...? Scan is on Thursday and I'm bricking it. I've still not got the results of the AFP test that was done at 16 weeks, so 4 weeks ago, and I'm hoping that means good news rather than that they've lost the blasted things.

Right. Off to package up some spare hotel duvets so that I can get at our bedding again - amazing how much space 6 double duvets take up but we need them in case of mucky guests.

Other than that, DH has been told he needs to organise his T-shirts. He has three drawers full, and only wears the top layer in each! Time to do some clearing out. I plan to turn the oldest "Big-Issue-Seller" ones into baby wipes if I can get the energy together.

Neuro · 17/07/2007 14:40

Pate? I am jealous.

Thing is, a tiny bit of everything i'm sure is fine, it's just down to whether you are unlucky to be eating something dodgy.

Otherwise how on earth did humans get this far? There was a time we'd have been eating raw liver, let alone cooked.

When i was about 3 weeks preg (and didn't know of course at that point) i went out drinking cocktails (yumyum), ate a plateful of oysters and assorted shellfish AND smoked two jazz cigarettes. I reckon the embryo enjoyed 'em all!

Also with my middle brother, my mum ate a lot of liver as she craved it. Normally she would never eat offal.

Listen to your body i think. Pate has some useful trace minerals i believe.

skidaddle · 17/07/2007 14:42

Aahhh nothing like a bit of poo talk to start off the afternoon!!

mixedmama - yes more pooing here too (won't divulge any more details than that)
your mil sounds horrendous, you poor thing. Good on you for not rising to it though and still sending your ds to see them.

neuro - I have two or sometimes even THREE coffees a day . I thought up to four was OK? and I second the waking them up in the morning thing - never too early to get them into a routine

great news beanster and bless your dd for being so sweet. my scan's next fiday and hoping my dd will be the same (more likely to grab the thing they put on your belly and try to eat it / pretend it's a telephone methinks)

tabimum - my dd (21 months) has just gone into a proper bed and is fine, no safety rail or anything so think your dd should be fine too

buzzy - that's interesting what you say about having pethidine too late - must have been what happened to me. will still try to avoid this time round anyway

was going to come on and tell you all about the sale at jojomaman whatever it is but I see you are all one step ahead of me!!

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 14:45

I think you can have up to four, I read somewhere that it is up to 8 cans of coke a day or something or maybe I just made that up. I think there are worse things than coffee.

Nbg · 17/07/2007 14:46

See alot of women you talk to who had their babies in the early 80's and before, were encouraged to eat liver because of the iron value.

I know that they say no now because of the Vit A levels and listeria but blardy hell, you could go on not eating at all!

I dont buy from the deli and I only get the cheapy one from saisnburys in a box which actually only has 29% liver in

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 14:48

What is the other 71%? Everything in proportion me thinks.

Nbg · 17/07/2007 14:48

I dont think I want to know that

Imawurzel · 17/07/2007 14:55

I dont like pate/liver/soft cheese so i got no problems there.
I was told the mr whippy ice cream is not good. salmoella etc.
I got some black maternity trousers from peacocks at the weekend.originally got a 14 but my thighs were squished up like pork tied up in clingfilm with string around it
So i got a 16, but even those are tight around the thighs. odd. Not as tight as the 14 though.
I got a few tops from matalan too .running out of clothes.
Awen, i feel generally fat at the moment, not pregnant.
Weighed myself on home scales and i keep going up and down. before pg i was just under 12 stone. Then at about 10 weeks i went up to just over 12 stone ,now i'm back under. Odd.
