Hope this works....! Here's hoping July is the month for

  • proper bumps not fat looking tummies
  • feeling them move!

Gay blokes and women here Buzzybee, and one other bloke finely tuned to pg symptoms as wife heavily pg (actually in early labour now).

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 11:20

I get leg cramps really badly, but I put it down to being incredibly lazy and unhealthy to start with... back pain recently as well and dont remember having it with DS. Calcium is def the reason tho I only have milk in coffee and only drink one coffee per day and dont really eat yoghurt or cheese or anything. Really need to start MW told me off.

buzzybee · 17/07/2007 11:22

hmmm - I will be interested to see if anyway does say "I THOUGHT SO!"
lol at the gay blokes and women!

MamaMaiasaura · 17/07/2007 11:22

Cazzybabs Good luck for the scan today, let us know how you get on. LOL @ losing your shoes.. I keep losing car keys atm

Claraq Good luck with your scan today too.. very exciting Let us know how it all went.

Iamawurzel - Hi due date buddy You should upload pic of your tummy. Mine changes during the day.. if i have wind or need a poo

Pecka - Just want to say I am so pleased all going well for you. I am size 12 too, got some long shorts from DP they have adjustable buttons which are good. Need jeans now as holday in a few weeks in wales so likely to be cold and wet.

Mixedmama - thanks I def think I look more preg in maternity clothes, although at times I think I still just look a bit fat. I also want a private room at the hosptial but dont know how to go about getting one. With ds was in a shared ward after c-section and found it impossible to sleep.

Motherofz - I have been stuffy at night too and mouth like cotton wool in the morning, I think I must be snoring but dp away so dont know. Not going ot try the olbas things because they sound vile

suey2 - have been getting lower back ache tbh . I tend to curve a bit normally as very large up top, althouhg do try and correct myself. I also think I am pushing belly out abit to say ..'look at me.. I'm pregnant '. LOL.

dazedorconfused - i need some maternity jeans too. Thinking of trying dorothy perkins or maybe blooming marvelous. Not too impressed with mothercare at the moment.

Bouncingturtle - What fab blood test results Is such a relief isnt it.

Buzzybee - good to hear about your blood test result. Good luck at work, hope all goes ok.

mimicakey - good luck for scan on friday. Hope it all goes well.

With the breast feeding. I found it was hard to start with as milk didnt come through straight away which i thought it would do. Managed for a year and could have continued for longer. Hoping to breastfeed again.

MamaMaiasaura · 17/07/2007 11:23

I have antenatal appointment this afternoon. Hope will listen to heartbeat Will ask about private room etc then.

buzzybee · 17/07/2007 11:26

Thanks Awen and good luck getting that room. Must off to bed now as 10.20pm and my feet are getting cold (see post on leg cramps!). Must say it annoys me the time difference down under - just when you gals get chatting I hit the sack

Neuro · 17/07/2007 11:27

mixedmama IS THAT IT?

Your MIL sounds like an old bag. That's really pathetic.

Pregnancy is turning me into one of those old gits - getting cross about all sorts of things. But i keep reminding myself that there are equal amounts of lovely people as well as stupid ones. But the stupid ones do my head in!

Awen did breastfeeding suck your baby weight away? I have this rose tinted image of myself with nice flat tummy and being slim again BUT getting to keep big boobs (I am usually small chested so delighted with current breast-age).

MotherofZ · 17/07/2007 11:30

Friend who recently had a baby said you have to pay £40 per night for a private room at our local hospital and no flowers or cuddly toys allowed, just in case some babies have/develop allegeries.

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 11:33

Pretty much Neuro, they even kept some potatoes that I made for him all day to show DH that they werent cooked properly - I mean who does that. Anyway enough of that, I could go on forever and you might just want to shoot yourself in the head!!

Anyway,i have friends who breastfed and none of them seemed to really lose the weight any quicker (not that i have lost any). I am planning my regime from now as by next August (yes i am thinking that far ahead) I want to go on hols and my family have never seen me this big. Got lots of dance dvds which I love and gonna do loads of walking with the kids (wonders off to get a reality check)

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 11:35

£40 if only.... ours are £120 per night and £60 for any part day thereafter!! So trying to get together £240 in my secret stash for two nights but to be hinest hope to go home the same day.

Mrswizz · 17/07/2007 11:40

What a nightmare about your MIL Mixedmama. I'm sure I'd have stuffed those half cooked potatoes down her throat! What a bint! Am counting my blessings I don't have a MIL or FIL. Shame for baby to only have living grandparent, but there are plus sides. Is that horrible of me?

Caz10 · 17/07/2007 11:41

Hi all! Been away for a few days and think it will take me another few days to catch up on all your chat! Have just skimmed through but it seems like people have been having scans, hearing heartbeats etc, hooray that is v exciting!! So glad everyone is doing well!

I am in my 1st pair of maternity trews today, combat things from DPs via Ebay and I have to say they are very very comfy and def make me look more pregnant than fat!

Cheers to whoever mentioned the jojomamanbebe sale, off to have a nosey!!

And also, re Xmas pressies - YES I am starting to stock up already, is that sad?! Actually I have been picking up bits and pieces since Jan, after last Xmas skinted me so much...that was before I knew I was pg so now I have double the reason to be organised! Oct school holiday week I plan to be wrapping and writing cards! Sad!

2 weeks to scan, can't wait.

Oh, thelady, well done on your big decision, hope it goes well for you, sure it will. Awen good luck this pm!

Very of all of youhaving your scans. I am not having mine until 23 weeks ahhh in SEPTEMBER!!

MamaMaiasaura · 17/07/2007 11:52

mixedmama - my scan isnt till 15 August

Neuro didnt suck my weight away cos I was a little piggy in the pregnancy ate for 3.. this time i am being better with diet. Luckily I crave lots of fruit.. do like carbs tho.

Neuro · 17/07/2007 11:58

Mixedmama i've still got 3 weeks and 3 days to go til my next scan (20weeks).

Mmmmmmmmmm carbs. If i ate anymore toast yesterday i'd have expected to wake up this morning and find myself transformed into a piece of toast. Last night's snack was a crisp and toast sandwich. Delish...

Can i reccommend Burgen bread to those that don't know? it's got squillions of linseeds in it which apparently is v helpful to digestion as well as our hearts (good fat). And it's dead tasty

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 11:59

Does anyone find that they are doing alot more pooing, maybe it is all the fruit but everywhere talks about constipation but pregnancy seems to have the opposite effect on me.

TOO MUCH INFO

Housemum · 17/07/2007 12:19

Maybe it is TMI but no constipation here either! Definitely every morning....

MotherofZ · 17/07/2007 12:20

oh my gosh - mixed mama - so true! (was thinking about brining it up but was a little embarrassed! )
as for bread yum yum - been naughty and been wanting peanut butter on it. TRied to be good about it but have given in a couple of time.

Neuro · 17/07/2007 12:34

oh no x 1000000000000000000

I have just caved in to friends and siblings persistence that i join Facebook. Oh lordy, have just lost an hour at work and now i'm hungry and me Inbox has gone mental.

Is it possible to hide from your own computer?!

Neuro · 17/07/2007 12:36

peanut butter - i've been eating it several times a week AND having 1 (and only 1) lovely real coffee in the mornings.
I'm prob going straight to hell...
(no allergies in mine or baby's father's family, i did check).

and poos - YEAH! MASSIVE ONES. quite impressed actually.

Sorry TMI!

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 12:38

Neuro you are absolutely hysterical.

mimicakey · 17/07/2007 12:42

Neuro - set up a rule in your email so everything from Facebook goes into a different folder, then you can ignore it. Otherwise it's insane! Facebook and MN is how I fill my days at work!!

mixedmama · 17/07/2007 12:45

You know what I dont really feel like coffee anyway and I am normally an addict. And, water makes me sick would believe....

MotherofZ · 17/07/2007 12:46

Neuro- I was just biting into my sandwich when I read your bit about poo. yuck!! but lol aswell - you sound like my hubby there!

MamaMaiasaura · 17/07/2007 12:56

lol - read about poos and went and ate lunch. Must be nurses brains.. LOL
