@PaulHollywoodsSexGut oh how miserable, I’m so sorry! You’re allowed a pity party, vent all you want. Congrats on the offer for the house though!

Sorry I’ve fallen off the radar a bit everyone. It’s been about a month and I’m still recovering from my colds. I have barely left the house, just for essential appointments.

I have my second glucose test today and am currently in the waiting room. It’s been half an hour and they haven’t even done the first blood draw. And on top of that, I was scheduled for another appointment at 10AM so have no idea what will happen. I can’t stop coughing and I can’t have cough drops. It’s going to be a long day.

Paul and Kescilly, sorry you're both having such a rough time! Hope you both feel better soon!

I ended up phoning the midwife this morning, they were so lovely. Told me to have breakfast and lie on my side for an hour and a half and right enough I felt wee bubbles of movement nearly straight away!

Kescilly · 28/02/2019 10:35

Thanks @WeeBean! Glad you felt movement right away. It’s so reassuring, isn’t it?

They started my GTT 40 minutes late so I’m going to be here a while. I’m glad I was able to get another though, and thank you for the support in this thread encouraging me to do so. The endocrinologist agreed with my concerns and said he would have scheduled another for me if no one else had done so.

Talking to people here definitely helped me to advocate for myself!

Weebean I’m so pleased for you not being sick this morning! Sorry about the pains last night, could it be baby’s position hurting? I remember with dd occasionally she’d get in a really awkward position and it would be really horrible and painful/uncomfortable until she decided to move. I think that might e been more later on though

Sass sorry to hear about your grandmother. Hopefully some tlc and medication will see her strong again.

Bigone genius use of tampons! I have smell issues too, still can’t cook lots of things and have to open windows a lot. Dd loves lush bath bombs but the house has to be fumigated afterwards with all windows open to get rid of the smell! Dd hasn’t had any meat at home since I got bfp as the thought of the smell of cooked chicken/fish/meat of any kind is repulsive to me.

PaulHollywood poor you with the flu. Sounds like they got the strain wrong in the jab (they say it’s all guess work with which strain for the jab anyway). Be very gentle on yourself. Last time I had flu even after I was over the worst it took quite some time to build up strength again for everyday activities. It really takes it out of your body so be gentle.

Kescilly how miserable. The gtt is something you really don’t want then running late for.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 28/02/2019 11:21

Thanks guys. Now if anyone can recommend anything decent on Netflix or amazon prime I’ll be grateful. I’ve watched both series of Mrs Maisel plus tried to get into Russian Doll but didn’t like it.

I need to find a way to keep myself upright and distracted x

2countries1bump · 28/02/2019 11:54

@Kescilly I recommend glycerine pastels for the cough- poor substitute for cough drops but help a bit!

Reastie · 28/02/2019 11:59

PaulHollywood I enjoyed ‘you’ (didn’t think I would). Dirty John and the sinner are on my to watch list. Dh are currently watching strange things which is quite good. Abducted in plain sight was Shock but good. The fyre documentary also was good.

Blondcat · 28/02/2019 12:12

Sex education is quite amusing on netflix

toomanyflatwhites · 28/02/2019 13:04

Oh yes sex education is definitely...distracting!! 🤔

Heyha · 28/02/2019 16:59

I caved in and rang for reduced movements today, the triage is miles away so they sorted me out popping to the local unit instead. Just had a quick Doppler and all sounded ok, bump 'popped' last week so think it's probably just everything sitting differently that's made movements less noticeable. They were really lovely though, glad I called in and it was so quick I didn't even get charged for parking 😂

stellarfox · 28/02/2019 17:56

@Paul The Good Place is excellent! Quite funny and light hearted and a new season has just come out. Very different but the Haunting of Hill House is really good if you like scary :) If you are feeling productive I'd say the Marie Kondo program! If you fancy a film Get Out has been added recently and that's really good

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 28/02/2019 19:40

I watched the whole series of Fleabag.

I’m still not sure what all the fuss was about, much preferred Killing Eve.

Tomorrow will start “You”. I’ve had my peepers on that for a while. Now - more paracetamol.

rollerskaterdata · 28/02/2019 22:35

@Heyha glad everything is ok! It's bloody awful when that happens but better safe than sorry x

allfurcoatnoknickers · 01/03/2019 00:22

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut I got obsessed with "You" and binge watched the whole thing over a weekend when DH was away.

I'm in the US, so YMMV on whether any of this is on UK Amazon or Netflix, but I really liked "The Terror" on Amazon and "Penny Dreadful" on Netflix. Also just watched all of The latest adaptation of Vanity Fair when it arrived on US Amazon. Also "Harlots" - on Hulu in the US - is fab.

hexagon01 · 01/03/2019 09:41

I’ve been watching Brooklyn 99 recently, and I’m very tempted to rewatch the Sopranos but I don’t think it’s on Netflix :(

This morning I had an hour to myself (unusual) and I did my make up and put some clothes I love on (I’m really enjoying my bump at the moment) and I though ‘yes! This is it! The pregnancy glow!’. Then I went out and my hips started hurting and my pelvis stiffened and I remembered I walk like an old person now, and realised I can only ever glow when stood completely still doing nothing.

rollerskaterdata · 01/03/2019 10:08

@hexagon01 😂😂 that's exactly how I feel! Glowing when not moving lol!

fee1234 · 01/03/2019 10:41

I've booked one of those HD live scans for lunchtime.. I'm just getting so impatient and want to see my little guys face! Hope he cooperates so we can get a good look.

Reastie · 01/03/2019 11:55

Fee how exciting, had a 3d scan with dd which really helped with bonding.

Hexagon Grin at the sedentary glow.

Went to local mw this morning. They are far more helpful than hospital. She straight away realised the hospital refusing to answer my csection questions until 35 weeks is causing me unnecessary anxiety and that they will make sure I get an appointment with someone willing to be more helpful. She also agreed seeing a birth choices mw (which consultant said I had to do before they would even discuss csection with me) would be a waste of time and is going to try to bypass this. Have another apt in 2 weeks. Heard hr and did the usual wee check and blood pressure.

fee1234 · 01/03/2019 13:04

Ahh it was so cute he's a wee chub already measuring 2lb11 at 26+4 😯

Would recommend the HD live scans... it was £69 but totally worth it to get a glimpse of his face

June 2019 - Part 6!
Fabuluce · 01/03/2019 13:16

Wow what a gorgeous pic @fee1234 !

Torsz · 01/03/2019 13:34

That's incredible @fee1234 😲🥰

Kescilly · 01/03/2019 14:18

@Fee1234 that nose! So sweet.

@2countries1bump I haven’t gotten the call about my GD results yet but I will look into those if needed, thanks! It was just annoying that I couldn’t have anything the entire night before or during my test.

@Heyha so glad everything checked out and you’re reassured. It’s the biggest relief, isn’t it? Hope baby doesn’t give you any more scares!

Re: Netflix, I also enjoyed the Fyre documentary. Except that bit about getting the water released from customs, I couldn’t believe that. I couldn’t do much yesterday and watched “Isn’t It Romantic” which was kind of funny. If nothing else it has a Hemsworth in it which always helps.

Blondcat · 01/03/2019 15:08

Been for 25w mw appointment this afternoon bp and pee all good measuring 27cm so on 90th percentile but mw happy so I am happy. She was curled over mainly on one side of me and gave a few jabs the other.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 01/03/2019 16:42

Went to see my Psychologist again this morning, and I officially have pre-natal anxiety. Sad

I suppose that it's good that I have help, but I'm so stressed out and sick and miserable it's hard to stay positive. Hopefully the coping strategies work, or at least help a little...

rollerskaterdata · 01/03/2019 21:32

@allfurcoatnoknickers sorry to hear you've got it too, but you're not alone. I also have prenatal anxiety and am finding engaging with my therapist helpful, but of course not a magic bullet. I'm trying to take each day and week as it comes and use the strategies they're giving me. I hope you have good support in place
