Gahhh @Fabuluce poor little one, and poor you! Badly timed date day but hopefully you can enjoy it a bit?
My cold etc is actually getting worse which is super annoying (I now can't taste anything but just keep eating and eating anyway haha!!) but I think it's because I overdid it on Wednesday when I had the day off work and tried to cram too much in 🤦‍♀️ DP coming home will probably be hard work for today at least though of course DD is dying to see him!

Bigonesmallone3 · 09/02/2019 11:23

My nipples r huge 🤦‍♀️

Fabuluce · 09/02/2019 12:41

@Bigonesmallone3 haha me too - my boobs are looking fabulous though - they're normally tiny and didn't change at all either with my DS but with this pregnancy they've grown a little and are looking lush and pert. I'm appreciating it while I can!

WeeBean · 09/02/2019 14:58

@NatalieBee Yay, another poster from Northern Ireland! I think that makes 3 of us ☺️

Hope everyone struggling with the lurgy is feeling better soon, it's so miserable!

I ended up having to phone in sick yesterday when my morning sickness struck at 2:30am and continued through the night, for the last 3 weeks it's been confined to 2/3 bokes when I get up, which is why I was able to go back to work. Thankfully it just seems to have a blip, was dreading it might have been a return to full blown nausea and vomiting all day every day!

KoalasAteMyHomework · 09/02/2019 16:05

Hope all of you with bugs start feeling better soon!

Bigonesmallone3 · 09/02/2019 18:05

Anyone started experience any tightenings/braxton hics already?
Third baby and 21 weeks now and they've started.. didn't have them this early last time..

Had a quick google and it's not completely unusual..

toomanyflatwhites · 09/02/2019 18:37

Guuuuu having a DP back from a week away with jet lag/travel grumpiness is WAY worse than dealing with the toddler all alone. Trying my small amount of patience today (especially having been awake since 4.30am and I'm the only one in the household not to get a nap today...)

NatalieBee · 09/02/2019 18:49

Woo @WeeBean 💃 on my little girls baby group I was the only one from NI! Lovely change 😍

Hope everyone is feeling better soon, everything seems to hit you sooooo much harder when pregnant!

I have been having such a stitch in my left side all day, it is so bloody grim. I have 100% done too much, I was gutting the playroom/computer room, argh.

NatalieBee · 09/02/2019 18:55

Just adding my name back, only noticed it had gone 🙈 I was the 28th May when I originally joined but they put me forward a week, and I'm committed to here now 🙈

Hey ladies feeling a bit deflated today. Been diagnosed with Strep B and thrush. I knew something wasn't right as had some dodge discharge recently (sorry TMI!), but didn't realise it was this. Had anyone had Strep B? I've been told I'll have to go to hospital as soon as water break, be given anti-biotics and have the baby monitored after birth for 12 hours. All sounds a little scary.....Confused

Bigonesmallone3 · 09/02/2019 21:17

My sister in law had strep, it all sounds worse than it is, u need antibiotics (as you said) and baby may and they may keep you in for 24hrs to ensure baby hasn't caught anything in the way out

coastergirl · 10/02/2019 00:38

I've finally managed to login on the desktop site. Who can I message to join the Facebook group? The thread itself isn't working properly on the desktop site but at least I can sort Facebook!

stellarfox · 10/02/2019 08:55

I’m trying to get organised with baby purchases. What will you be using for baby to sleep in e.g. sleeping bag, swaddle or cellular blankets? If sleeping bag would you go with 1 tog for a June baby?

Blondcat · 10/02/2019 09:05

I have bought a couple of grow swaddles to use initially and see how we get on if that is looking good was going to get a sleeping bag or two one she has grown out of the swaddles.

Kescilly · 10/02/2019 09:14

I was gifted a bunch of hand me down swaddles and also a Woolino sleep sack. I think we will use the swaddles when the baby is little, since most of the sleep sacks/bags can’t be used under a certain weight. Then later we will use the Woolino which can be used year round (obviously not in very warm temperatures though).

Hi @Heebyjeeby99 while I didn’t have strep B, I did have a different infection which meant antibiotics for me and baby and lots of monitoring. We were both totally fine after a few days. He was away from me for about an hour after birth to be cannulated etc but his dad was with him. I know it’s not the nicest thing to be told but it’s so good that it was picked up and can be dealt with Flowers

hexagon01 · 10/02/2019 09:26

With my last May baby we used cellular blankets for a couple of weeks, then moved onto 1 tog GroSnugs then sleeping bags. It was very very hot when he was born and I remember being so confused by how wrapped up they still need to be as newborns!

Kescilly · 10/02/2019 10:05

Is anyone making anything for their baby? I’d like to make a quilt if I can find the time, or maybe one tiny little outfit. I have a feeling I won’t have the time though!

Changingagain · 10/02/2019 10:22

We'll be using the Grobags we kept from Ds who was also a summer baby. I can't remember the tog (sorting out the furniture before unsealing the vacuum bags) but they'd have been the lowest.
We used cellular blankets for the first couple of weeks as Ds was born at 6lb2oz and the minimum on the Grobags is 8lb iirc.

Heyha · 10/02/2019 11:33

I got a couple of grosnugs to try to start with when they were on offer- got two light ones and one cosy just in case we have a spring-like June instead of a summery one! I hope between them and the different combos of clothing they suggest we should be ok. Unless baby hates being swaddled of course...

2countries1bump · 10/02/2019 12:10

I'm really stumped on the grobag tog question. It gets super hot here (40C) in summer but because of that we also have AC which is on pretty constantly through the summer. Anyone any thoughts/experience?

rollerskaterdata · 10/02/2019 15:02

@Heebyjeeby99 as some others have already said, try not to worry about Group B Strep. I had it with DS and it just meant an IV with antibiotics during labour and being kept in for 24 hours after for observation. Both of us were totally fine and went home the next day

toasterstrudle · 10/02/2019 15:52

2countries1bump - get a room thermometer then you can adjust baby clothes and grobag accordingly - the gro site is good gro.co.uk/what-to-wear/

LauralovesLuke · 11/02/2019 06:22

I've got my second scan today (20+6 weeks) - anyone else??

toomanyflatwhites · 11/02/2019 06:38

Good luck today @LauralovesLuke, hope all goes well (and you're not too anxious!)

I have already been moaning about this over on the fb group but yet another ridiculous night for me...have been awake since 2.30. I think I just need to quit full-time work now as it's clear I will be incapable of doing anything meaningful yet AGAIN today (and need to write an important report for a meeting tomorrow so will have to get my brain in gear somehow!!?). Pregnancy insomnia SUCKS!!
