Hello everyone. I have been lurking on here for a while (but do struggle to keep up). I did post very early on but anxiety got the better of me and I haven't been 'talking' pregnancy too much with anyone. Hope everyone is doing okay, sounds like lots are suffering with dreadful symptoms. Worst symptom for me at the moment is eczema, so I can't complain, but boy am I an itch monster! We had our 20 week scan last week but baby in a difficult position so they couldn't get most of the measurements, which was so disappointing I must admit to being a bit upset. Now though I am trying to remember that they didn't say anything is 'wrong'. Starting to feel little twitches but it seems I am quite minimal on the movement front compared to some people. I hope I am doing this right by adding my stats and myself into the list below - someone please correct me if I am wrong!

How do we become added to the facebook page please?

Congratulations on getting to the "viability day" SassehMonsta! R4ch4el12 we are date buddies :)

Best wishes everyone

Welcome @GreyhoundGurl! Were they able to see all the important bits at your scan? My baby wasn’t cooperating either so they asked me back for a scan two weeks later. Maybe they’ll rescan you?

I didn’t realize it but I hit my viability mark yesterday!

hexagon01 · 07/02/2019 14:12

Oh my gosh I can’t believe we’re at viability mark stage for some people! It’s starting to feel quite real for me now. I’m a little bit anxious for my son who in the next few months will be moving house, moving rooms at nursery and getting a new sibling. He’s not even 2 yet! Poor baby, he’s generally adaptable but it feels like a lot for a little person.

rollerskaterdata · 07/02/2019 14:16

@Curlywurly3 thanks hun, I've been and seen the dentist and been prescribed something else much more tolerable!

@Kescilly @SassehMonsta I hit the viability mark today! Starting to feel much more real now...

GreyhoundGurl · 07/02/2019 14:36

No @Kescilly they weren't able to see most of the important bits sadly. Yes we are back in on the 15th so hoping that baby will have moved into a more helpful position, and desperately hoping all is okay. I don't think it helped that I am overweight either, which has made me feel guilty, though I have lost weight since pre-pregnancy (I don't think that will last - sooo hungry this week!).

Eek I'm so excited for all of you who have reached the viability date Grin!

Changingagain · 07/02/2019 15:43

Oo viability date is an exciting one to reach, still a few weeks off for me.

Is anyone else getting irrationality annoyed by things. I've spent most of the day annoyed because MIL & BIL want to visit us on Saturday. I have no idea why it's annoying me, they're both lovely.

Kescilly · 07/02/2019 16:11

@GreyhoundGurl don’t feel bad, it’s probably just positioning. I went back and baby was misbehaving again so it took forever. Then I was sat in the waiting room for a bit ready to leave and she called me back again for one more look at the heart. Lo and behold, baby had moved into the right position and everything was easy to see.

Except whether it was a boy or girl, of course. Still hoping our early private scan was correct there!

WeeBean · 07/02/2019 18:47

We had our 20 week scan today and everything looks good!! I'm so relieved, had myself all uptight over it. 21 weeks tomorrow!

Fabuluce · 08/02/2019 07:29

Well done @WeeBean - it's such a relief isn't it!

LauralovesLuke · 08/02/2019 08:00

I feel for you @greyhound - I'm also suffering from eczema and I really don;t want to use the steroid cream prescribed :( I've also been given some Aquamax - which really seems to be helping with the itching - I would highly recommend!

Kescilly · 08/02/2019 11:09

Do we have a few people still waiting on scans? I was going to try to update the data next week and see if I have time to post some results. But I don’t want to leave out people who are still waiting to find out if it’s a boy or girl!

OP posts:
Spargle · 08/02/2019 11:37

@Kescilly I think someone is due a scan today. I don’t think anyone has said they’ve got one next week...

I think the chances of everything being right first time are slim anyway. Somebody who wanted to be included will have failed to get their data to you, somehow. I’d say probably go for it this evening, and hope for the best.

Thank you so much for doing this! It’s very interesting to see everyone else’s information!

SassehMonsta · 08/02/2019 12:08

YES - Viability day! To celebrate this, and commiserate the second lot of insulin I now have to take at dinner, I am eating custard doughnuts :D

Curlywurly3 · 08/02/2019 16:39

Hey does anyone know how annual leave works when I’m maternity?
So I have 9 days left to take before the end of this year. Can I add them to the start of my maternity so I can finish earlier? Also, if I’m having a year off, I will accrue days in 2020 before I go back. Can I take those into consideration and add them to the start of my maternity? X

Heebyjeeby99 · 08/02/2019 17:06

@Curlywurly3 at my work you have to take any outstanding leave from this leave year directly before maternity leave. I have 30 days to take, hence why I'm going off in April. Any I accrue during the next leave year I take directly after mat leave - we can't take it in considerarion before. My HR sent me a letter explaining it all, so maybe ask for their policy?

Curlywurly3 · 08/02/2019 17:36

Thanks @heebyjeeby99 we don’t have a maternity policy or HR! Going to get my form from midwife next week so I can find out x

Bimbabo · 08/02/2019 17:57

I’ve no leave left till April. Have a week in March used. We get all leave while on mat leave carried over when we return. I’ve added mine up so in 2020 I have 71 days from June to March! Whoop whoop! xxx

Curlywurly3 · 08/02/2019 18:30

@bimbabo don’t you have the option of taking any of the holiday entitlement before your maternity leave? Or do they prefer you to take it at the end?

Bimbabo · 08/02/2019 19:07

@Curlywurly3 can take it when I want it. I’d rather be off once the baby is here so will come back on leave for 2 weeks before actually starting work properly. Then work the rest out later.

NatalieBee · 08/02/2019 21:57

Hi Everyone :) Haven't checked in for a bit, I always struggle to keep up on the mumsnet pages, that and between work, being pregnant and my little girl I am flat out! Had my 20 week scan and it looked great, have my GTT in the next couple of weeks because my little girl was so heavy at birth!

Seen everyone adding stats so thought id throw mine in, I've vanished from the stat list 🙈 anywho
Due- End of May 2019, they've moved me forward a week, woo!
Having- Boy
From- Belfast northern ireland

Hope everyone is well, have we moved to Facebook yet? :)

mummysuz · 08/02/2019 23:58

Just a quick update, had my scan yesterday and we are having a boy. Very excited!!

Fabuluce · 09/02/2019 07:20

Uuuuurgh the lurgy has got me. (Wo)Man down 😩😩😩

toomanyflatwhites · 09/02/2019 08:47

Morning all, hurray for all the scans!
Uhoh @Fabuluce, what variety of lurgy? I had a cough that started a week and a half ago and am now a full powered snot machine and it just seems to be getting worse...had Thursday off work because I couldn't sleep due to not being able to breathe, awake since 4.30 this morning (while DD miraculously slept through, first time in forever...) and then I coughed so much I peed in my pyjamas 🙄
Thank goodness DP is back today after a week away - mind you, I know he will be tired and jet lagged from the transatlantic flight so he's bound to drive me mad for the rest of the weekend!!

Fabuluce · 09/02/2019 10:38

I caught it from my son who had croup last week following by a horrid cough/runny nose which then morphed into everything aching and him in tears because of sore ears and sore tum plus a decidedly poorly tum/bum. Poor wee man. He then fell over yesterday and fell headfirst onto a sharp edge and cut his head quite badly. Not his week! I came down with the aches and shivers last night and had a rotten night of being unable to breathe and waking myself up snoring. Nice. Now off up to London for a day date with DH and DS has a play date with one of our lovely babysitters who adores him. Feeling shattered. Zzzz

Fabuluce · 09/02/2019 10:44

@toomanyflatwhites that sounds hideous and very poorly timed with your DH being away you poor thing. Hope you're starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel? There have been some miserable bugs around this year.
