22 weeks and put up 6lbs, I’m slim and had to make a real effort to eat more these last few weeks as I had lost weight due to recent stress

Changingagain · 06/02/2019 05:54

Bimbabo my cat was rolling her back against my bump last night. The only other time she's done that was the last few months that I was pregnant with ds. I think animals do just know.

I've lost 12lb so far this pregnancy due to nausea at the start and partial gd diet since. It doesn't worry me though as I lost over a stone in my first pregnancy due to the strict diet, and I was overweight to start with. I'll try not to put 2 stone on when I stop breastfeeding this time though Shock

CrazyCowLady · 06/02/2019 07:19

Thanks @Bimbabo @rollerskaterdata and @lstef. Have my 24/40 appt in 2 weeks, so will get referral to physio then. Was hoping you had a magic cure that will fix it immediately!!

Have we all passed the half way mark yet?! Or it might be another week or so for the babes due in late June?

Fabuluce · 06/02/2019 07:20

16lb gain at 22+3 but I'm ok with that given I started off at a healthy weight/bmi, haven't had any sickness and haven't been able to stop stuffing my face! 2 stone is average weight gain over pregnancy so I'm mostly on track for that I suspect as my appetite will get smaller as my tum gets bigger.

I haven't really changed much, glow-wise, BUT I'm very aware that I've been really lucky in the pregnancy symptoms department and am having a very simple easy pregnancy so far (despite all the monitoring I have to have) so people have being saying I'm glowing since about 8 weeks. I take that as karma given how hard it is for me to get pregnant in the first place!

Curlywurly3 · 06/02/2019 08:08

Hi everyone,

I’ve been quiet lately as I’ve had an extremely stressful time at work, to the point I ended up in hospital due to blood pressure. I thought I was going to be out of a job but we’ve had a meeting and sorted it all out. Feel like a massive weight has been lifted.

I’m 20+2 and due 24th June so we should all be very near the half way point now :)

I’ve got my 20 week scan tomorrow morning... eeek!

Fabuluce · 06/02/2019 08:42

Good luck @Curlywurly3 for tomorrow. Sounds like you've been through a rotten time you poor thing. Hope you're ok. X

KoalasAteMyHomework · 06/02/2019 10:37

@Curlywurly3 sounds like you've had a tough time.
I'm 22w today and have my scan tomorrow morning too Smile along with the extra cardiac scan

Reastie · 06/02/2019 10:57

Hi all,

I put on an obscene amount of weight as up until around 16 weeks or so I was having to eat through the nausea comstantly. I was force feeding myself as I knew if I didn’t eat I’d feel worse but I felt like every mouthful I ate I would throw up. I remember saying to dh I’d have so much weight to lose pre preg yet I had enjoyed none of the food that I’d eaten in the gaining, it was just to try to stop me being sick. Have been keeping track of my weight as last pg my weight was about 4 stone heavier after dd was born, so I must’ve put on when at my due date about 80lbs Blush. I know no one else put on as much as me and I hated it yet it was necessity as if I didn’t I’d feel awful and nauseous. I really wasn’t just eating all the pies because I fancied them! Since 16 weeks i’ve maybe put on about 1lb, which I’m happy with as I need to reign it in from my huge first trimester gain. Hoping it will be more gradual. I went up 2 dress sizes last pg when I was back in normal clothes after my bump had gone down. This time I’ve started myself 2 stone lighter than my original pre preg weight and have been carful with food where and when I can (within the bounds of food aversions nausea). I had a lot of stress and anxiety about work (and not being upto it) last time so I’m trying to take a lot of that off my shoulders and do everything I can to be as healthy as I can.

In other news, the heartburn has started already Confused

Good luck with all the scans. I have a consultant appointment this afternoon and am feeling very nervous about being up to it as stillmfeeling so sick. If I rest etc I can generally keep it under control but it’s when I have to do stuff it becomes intolerable.

MauisLeftNipple · 06/02/2019 15:55

I weighed myself this morning but husband had changed the units to stones and I couldn't be bothered to flick it to kilos, so have no idea what the numbers meant. Only know that I have put on more than I should, despite eating pretty healthily and being active. I think since the hyperemesis my body has decided to stick every calorie to my arse (this is what happened in my previous pregnancy).

toomanyflatwhites · 06/02/2019 16:20

I think I've put on quite a lot too - was so pleased with myself that I was "within the guidelines" according to the pregnancy programme on my smart watch app up until about 19 weeks and then it all went to pot. I started off much lighter than last pregnancy so until I passed my pre-first-pregnancy weight it seemed pretty steady but then suddenly it's just piling on! I think I've gained 8kg now but every time I get on the scales it seems to have gone up another kilo so I'm just going to stop recording it now 🤣

MadeInCornwallx3 · 06/02/2019 16:46

I literally have no clue what I've put on. I don't have scales so even at booking in I had to kind of guess my weight.

I'm a weirdo though as both previous pregnancies I've been lighter after giving birth than when getting pregnant within a couple of days. I put that down to giving up the wine 😂

Anyone else like this? I'm grateful, it's just odd.

Pigriver · 06/02/2019 16:53

I put on almost 3 stone last time!
I weighed 10lb less pre pregnancy than last time so that is good but I gained rapidly in the first trimester from only eating carbs due to sickness. I’m hoping it will slow a bit but I have already gained a stone 😳
At the end of the day I’m going to gain whatever I gain. I can lose it after. I started slimming world when ds was 2 to lose the last 1.5 stone and it was easier than I thought once I put my mind to it. My plan in to start again in the new year after baby is born (so will be 6 months)

Spargle · 06/02/2019 17:12

@CrazyCowLady I think that in 4 days anyone due on 30th June should be 20 weeks. So not long now!

(Having said that, yesterday I booked myself a train arriving in London 9 minutes after my meeting was due to start, which I then had to un-book. I’m not exactly reliable right now!)

toomanyflatwhites · 06/02/2019 17:13

@Pigriver I gained 20kg last time which I think is just over 3 stone...but yes I'm of the opinion that I gain what I gain, i'm just hoping to not end up like I did last time as I'm unrecognisable in photos of DD's early days...

Anyway - I'm basically an idiot - I took today off work, DP is away for the full week, DD slept like crap last night and I have completely overdone it today. I had some stuff to do on the other side of London but didn't want to miss the opportunity to do some shopping too.... Ended up being out all day, walking 10,000 steps and only getting home just over an hour before I have to collect DD from nursery. I'm so feckin exhausted - I don't seem to know how to NOT overdo it when I actually could have taken the chance for a quiet day 🙄

Heebyjeeby99 · 06/02/2019 17:47

Sorted my mat leave today! Technically working right up until the week before, but because I have so much annual leave to take I'm actually off from 15 April! That seems so close now........literally counting down the days!

stellarfox · 06/02/2019 17:48

I don’t know what I’ve gained but Im definitely bigger than I have ever been but I don’t really mind as it’s natural. I am looking forward to being able to exercise properly again afterwards! I want to go to the buggy boot camps they have in parks, they look good 😄 In the meantime I’ve signed up for pregnancy yoga!

Curlywurly3 · 06/02/2019 18:20

@fabululce and @koalasatemyhomework thanks ladies. I wish I could tell you more but you never know who’s watching! 👀 taking each day as it comes and working on not getting too stressed. A glass of red would be glorious right about now!

Excited for my scan tomorrow and obviously hoping all is OK with the little one. I’m going to put something on Facebook after it and I can’t wait to see the reactions :) I also can’t wait to start buying things and looking forward to working on the nursery. I’d like to have a theme like Peter Rabbit or Winnie the Pooh. The house is newly decorated so I’d just like to put some nice pictures up, maybe get a stencil or 2 for the wall and put some shelves up.

What has everyone else done about nursery furniture? A friend bought hers from Wayfair but I don’t think there’s a website which is a shame because it looks like there are some good deals x

rollerskaterdata · 06/02/2019 20:37

@CrazyCowLady I wish I had a magic cure too, my poor right hip is playing up at the moment and is so sore! I'm actually 24 weeks tomorrow so a bit over halfway, my EDD was originally 04/06 but then got moved to 30/05 at my 12 week scan and I didn't want to move threads as I've been on here since the beginning and felt like I'd already got to know you lovely lot 🙈

@Curlywurly3 all the best for your scan tomorrow hun!

I literally seem to be getting all the horrible symptoms this time round. I've got a dental abscess (never had one before!) which I'm now taking antibiotics for. Side effects are so awful I'm curled up on the floor right now with a poorly tummy and going back to my dentist tomorrow to beg for a different type of antibiotic 🥺🤢

MadeInCornwallx3 · 06/02/2019 21:08

@Curlywurly3 Wayfair definitely have a website lovely. Also an app which I am a danger on at the moment haha.

If you sign up to the newsletter there's a code for £15 off your first purchase I believe.

KoalasAteMyHomework · 06/02/2019 21:28

@Curlywurly3 yep definitely a Wayfair website!
We got our furniture for DS from Babies R Us and a few bits from Kiddicare, so am gutted those shops aren't around anymore. Been looking at Mothercare, Dunelm and John Lewis, plus there's Mamas and Papas etc but its all so expensive. I really need to start sorting what we need and getting bits together, time is going too quick and we are super unprepared at the moment!
Hope the scan goes well!

Curlywurly3 · 06/02/2019 22:52

I’m so silly, I meant a showroom not a website 🤦‍♀️ I wouldn’t be comfortable spending that much money on something I haven’t had a look at in real life.

T minus 9.5hrs until my scan... good luck to all those having theirs tomorrow as well x

@rollerskaterdata that sounds awful :( get yourself to bed xx I hope the dentist can help tomorrow

toomanyflatwhites · 07/02/2019 05:35

Oh yes, this is definitely the sleep tracker of a pregnant woman with a toddler....gave up trying after that as I absolutely can't breathe through my nose when I'm lying down 🙄 Watched a bit of Netflix on my iPad in bed with hot honey and lemon and some toast (this is the upside of DP being away!) until DD woke again crying at 4.30 and am now laying beside her. I decided at 3am I would work from home today anyway but maybe I'll actually end up off sick as I feel like crap thanks to lack of sleep and the cold - but I'm cross with myself as I think I made this happen by overdoing it yesterday - my cold was getting better before that! Uuuuuuu pregnancy 🤦‍♀️

June 2019 - Part 6!
Heebyjeeby99 · 07/02/2019 09:30

@toomanyflatwhites similar sleep pattern to mine last night. Was awake at 2am to OH snoring, then started worrying about everything in the world....why haven't I felt the baby move, where is the cat, what if I'm late dropping my step daughters to school, I'm going to be fat at my wedding, what if I die...etc etc. So I probably had another hour between 2am and 7am....sigh. Luckily working from home but like a zombie today.

Kescilly · 07/02/2019 10:32

I've been a bit slow in keeping up with everyone here, was really suffering from my cold and lack of sleep last week and a half. I've gotten four continuous hours the last two nights though, and am starting to feel better.

You both have my sympathy, @toomanyflatwhites and @Heebyjeeby99. It felt like I was never going to get any sleep or get better!

OP posts:
SassehMonsta · 07/02/2019 13:04

Got woken by the wind at 4:30am, followed by 20 mins of being kicked inside my hip. DD (4) is getting better at waking at 6am rather than 5am, which is positive. She has also declared she will share her room, but no nappies to be in there. Not even clean ones to be stored there!

Cold has turned into just a residual cough, and ear infection almost gone. Gestational Diabetes is (mostly) controlled, and seeing the nurses today about it again.

Maternity leave is booked in, plus 2 weeks holiday. DH's job is up in the air currently, might be going full time before I leave for maternity, so having to put contingency plans in place for DD (I have a few Mondays I would love to take off work which will work well). I finish in 8 weeks and a day :)

I have purchased a few items (breast pump, bottles, formula), and am picking up pram tomorrow. Have loads of clothes from facebook selling site (£10 bag turned out to be 2 bin bags of clothes from newborn to 3-6months!). Have plenty of washing and sorting to do. I'm childfree tonight as she is staying at my parents. Phew!

Last time I weighed myself I was 10lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight. I shall probably be weighed again today. Today I am 23+6 - so tomorrow is "viability day" :D
