now I'm also spotty

Yes this too! My face is like a Braille script, only down the left side tho weirdly

toomanyflatwhites · 05/02/2019 12:56

Mine too @PaulHollywoodsSexGut!!! It was a cluster on the left cheek and I thought it was clearing up but now it's just spreading further down my face 😱

toomanyflatwhites · 05/02/2019 12:58

Oh and ALSO - charming new symptom...it appears that I suddenly stink. WTF? I wake up the morning with pits smelling like I've done a day of manual labour - and it's like this during the day too. Anyone else? Or do I just need a harder working deodorant (thinking about it, I am using a different one to normal...)

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 05/02/2019 13:01

Oh my god @toomanyflatwhites

We dream the same dreams we want the same things

I too have a BO problem; my boobs smell of salt and vinegar crisps.

Always.

toomanyflatwhites · 05/02/2019 13:25

Hahaha @PaulHollywoodsSexGut and we have the same era of musical reverences too by the looks of it!!!

Heebyjeeby99 · 05/02/2019 13:35

@toomanyflatwhites how comes the badges get a bad rep?

coles85 · 05/02/2019 13:36

Hi Ladies!

Another anterior here, and at 22 weeks (tomorrow) I'm feeling nothing! But she was doing cartwheels at my 20 week scan, so I'm not too worried. My lovely sonographer said that it could be up to 24 weeks before I feel anything.

Had a tough morning today - came across some black ice on my walk to work - I was like a big fat bambi on ice. I think the people round about me didn't know whether to help me or just laugh - I did look ridiculous! Thankfully I managed to steady myself (by way of smashing into a barrier) so never actually fell (high five to me!). But I got a fright! My very kind helpful colleague asked if the barrier is still in one piece Hmm

fee1234 · 05/02/2019 14:32

@toomanyflatwhites I think I'm starting to smell too 😞 having to apply deodorant again at lunch time.

Also noticed when I'm sitting down the bottom of my boobs are resting on the top of my bump, which makes it a bit sweaty. Such a glamorous time for me right now

toomanyflatwhites · 05/02/2019 14:38

@fee1234 I'm so glad it's not just me!! I remember it just after DD was born but don't remember it from my first pregnancy...

Spargle · 05/02/2019 14:47

I don’t feel especially glowy, but my hair is happy to wait longer between washes, and I seem to smell less than usual (not that I normally smell, but it’s taking less effort to maintain than usual!). I suppose this is a good second-best to glowy? I mostly don’t feel especially bad, but pre-pregnancy I’d feel better than my current best days almost all the time.

I’m not pleased to hear about people not doing well with trains, though. I’m due in London tomorrow, which is a 1 3/4 hour train journey followed by a 25-minute tube journey followed by a 20-minute walk. I can’t walk as fast as usual, so I’ll probably be late for my meeting - I hope I don’t also feel awful! (Especially as I’m the one who pushed for this meeting!) Still, thank you for the warning. I’ll make sure to book a later train back so I don’t need to rush. But I don’t think an earlier train to get there will necessarily be feasible.

Bigonesmallone3 · 05/02/2019 15:39

@toomanyflatwhites
Soo yes a placenta can be anterior at first san then posterior at the 20 week scan :)
As mine has done

allfurcoatnoknickers · 05/02/2019 16:03

@toomanyflatwhites I'm so clammy, it's disgusting. It's been freezing cold here, so I manage to be cold and sweaty all the time Angry I seem to only get one wear out of each outfit before it needs to be washed.

WeeBean · 05/02/2019 16:51

Another one with anterior placenta, haven't felt anything! A girl in work told me it was 26 weeks before she felt anything with an anterior placenta but I'd definitely know when it started.

20.5 weeks and still being sick up to 3 times every morning and heading to bed early every night with nausea, 'pregnancy glow' is bullshit as far as I'm concerned.

HoneyPea · 05/02/2019 17:13

Thanks everyone for the reassurance about the low lying placenta Smile

I'm another one who would love to know when this magical 'glow' will appear. Been throwing up from 3-19wks multiple times a day, although I have had a few days of nausea and just vomiting once a day in the last 2wks 🙌
I also have Rosacea (pre pregnancy) which has been made worse so have a face full of red bumpy blotches and was told today by one of the children I teach that they hope it isn't too long before I can start using my face cream medicine again because I look 'Different and not in a good way and they feel sad for me' (8year old!)

Glad everyone's scans are going well and wishing everyone luck that the 'glow' will appear soon!

CrazyCowLady · 05/02/2019 17:26

I have had a few people mention that I'm starting to 'glow', although I'm fairly sure they are comparing to the first trimester where I was basically a green looking zombie. My hair is better behaved too and no spots since my last period. So maybe it has happened?! 22 weeks today.

My insides are starting to hurt though. Getting touches of pelvic pain/SPD/PGP, which feels like I have had way too much sex (but not actually having any...!) Has anyone done anything that sorted it out before? Also, my sternum feels like it needs popping outwards but not quite sure how to do it, or whether its even possible?! Pregnancy is so weird.

@toomanyflatwhites I think they can move, but unless they are low, not much notice is really taken and so never talked about. But if it can move up, it also makes sense that it can move sideways. I think moving down is quite rare though (and probably almost impossible, but I'm sure its happened at some point!)

LauralovesLuke · 05/02/2019 17:27

Oh my god reading this thinking "am I the smell I've been smelling on this train journey home??!!!" Shit!

annihall · 05/02/2019 17:44

I don't think I smell (hopefully!) but my hands are getting so sweaty at the moment I find it hard to hold a pen at times! I've been feeling a weird mix of having freezing cold hands and feet and still feeling too hot, Google suggests it's all the hormones' fault...
Haven't noticed a glow either however my husband keeps mentioning it (maybe he tries to keep me in a good mood?) - I think what he sees is just the difference to how I looked for weeks during the first trimester with terrible spots and generally looking ill all the time

lstef · 05/02/2019 17:59

@crazycowlady - I have PGP, on the milder end of the spectrum apparently, mostly painful if I walk too far - I self referred to physio in my area (depends on area I guess how referrals work on NHS) and I've had an appt 10 days ago and got another on Friday, she examined the position of my pelvis and then did some manual therapy and massage to correct it. It has definitely helped but my left side is still a bit painful sometimes. So it might be an ongoing thing thru pg, not sure yet.

I am already so uncomfortable in bed, turning over feels like a freakin mission , feel like a beached whale in bed even though I'm "small" acc to anyone who sees my bump. It doesn't feel small! And even with a pg pillow I get this awful stretching pain at my ribs, still trying to figure out what works to sleep comfortably.

I dont feel "glowy" as such but my skin is the best its been since I was 18, have struggled with acne for years.. and it seems easier to wake up at the moment, yay. Still tired by the afternoon tho.

Pigriver · 05/02/2019 19:36

Well I was obviously talking crap this morning when I said my placenta was anterior and high up. Apparently I have placenta previa and the whole cervix is covered by 2.2cm!
It may of course move but they aren’t sure whether it can move enough to completely clear it as as its anterior it will likely move into the CS site. This means they’d have to cut through the placenta to deliver which is risky due to blood loss so would have a transfusion ready.
Not what I was expecting!
There is ‘some vascularity’ of the placenta which from what I can make out means some of the blood vessels not working as they should so I have had my next growth scan brought forward from 28 to 26 weeks to keep an eye on things and check the placental position again. They will make the final decision at 34 weeks.
We had a private scan at 16 weeks and she just said it was anterior (looked high to me) but she did ask if I had this in my last pregnancy so maybe she was hinting at something 🤷‍♀️

fee1234 · 05/02/2019 20:40

Anyone been weighing themselves? I hadn't for ages but stepped on the scales and I'm 12lbs heavier than pre pregnancy. I'm 23 weeks so still a good bit to go 😳

rollerskaterdata · 05/02/2019 20:53

OMG I'm so glad it's not just me. I'm nearly 24 weeks and no glow, big and sweaty with sweaty boobs sitting on my bump, tired and nauseous. I only stopped being sick 2 weeks ago. Considering I'm a few weeks away from the third trimester I've thrown my hands up and accepted my second trimester was just as bad as the first, or probably worse given I've got a huge bump already to lug around 😒

@CrazyCowLady I also have PGP and would recommend being referred to physio. I've had a couple of appointments now and the exercises are helping although not completely. I'm hoping for a support belt at my next visit

rollerskaterdata · 05/02/2019 20:54

@fee1234 I've purposely avoided the scales! Grin

Heebyjeeby99 · 05/02/2019 20:59

@Pigriver sorry to hear things aren't straight forward, but glad you are getting lots of monitoring and I'm sure they'll make sure you're well looked after. Suprising nothing was said at private scan...

@fee1234 same here! 13lbs since pre-pregnancy and I'm 22 weeks without a bump. I was shocked! I mean I know I've put on weight as couldn't fit in any of the wedding dresses I tried on at the weekend...but I had no idea it was so much. Looking at the NHS website I think this amount is pretty normal so not too worried.

Bimbabo · 05/02/2019 21:57

I've been having some pelvic pain also. Feel like I've been kicked and left bruised. I'm like an old woman having to sit down to get dressed as I get a sharp pain through my leg into my groin if I stand on one leg. I've phoned for a physic appointment so hoping that it can be contained if anything.

I've not noticed that I'm smelling by my dog is my new shadow. Sticks beside me all of the time now when I'm in the house. She used to go and sit on her own at night when she was tired but looks like my legs are her new pace to be. Caught her one night having a sniff around my belly and then she gave it a lick. I've convinced myself that she knows I'm pregnant and she's looking out for me!

I've put 2kgs on so far. Trying to not go crazy as I'm curvaceous as it is! I def have a bump or a moulding of the fat that was already there. Did have a stranger ask when I was due so that made me feel better that I don't look just fat.

xxx

allfurcoatnoknickers · 06/02/2019 00:27

@fee1234 I'm in the US and you get weighed at every single appointment. 21 weeks and I've gained 10lbs. My consultant told me that 10-15lbs was perfect at this point, since I started at a healthy BMI.
