Ouch @socktastic - are you able to stop? I sometimes find if I stop and walk around for a bit then try again it can make it easier. Otherwise try putting something up under your feet to raise them - apparently that position helps although I've never tried it!

Torsz · 01/02/2019 18:50

Oops only just saw that was half an hour ago!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 01/02/2019 19:07

Oh my goodness @socktastic

How are you now?

socktastic · 01/02/2019 19:13

Ok now thanks, hurt like a son of a bitch. Counting it as birthing practise. Will be more diligent with lactulose!

Fabuluce · 01/02/2019 22:02

Well done on birthing a poo! Getting a stool under your feet most definitely helps - I've been where you were and it's a pretty terrifying stressful feeling isn't it! Keep up the fibre intake too!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 01/02/2019 22:51

@socktastic That sounds awful! Definitely recommend the stool. Like the little step ups toddler use.

Love all your name options! I like Romilly, Bryher and Ottilie at the moment though worried a bit about Ottilie as I have a Matilda and the 'til' bit may be a bit similar.

Kescilly · 01/02/2019 23:20

@socktastic I’m glad that you’re feeling better, that sounds horrible!

@MadeInCornwallx3 I love all those names, though I’ve never heard of Bryher. What’s the origin of that name?

We are settled on a name, barring any surprises (like a boy instead of a girl). I’d like to share it with you but it’s not English in origin and I’m worried it would be a bit “outing,” as they say here.

OP posts:
MadeInCornwallx3 · 01/02/2019 23:21

@Kescilly It's basically a Cornish spelling of the name Briar. Bryher is an island off the coast. I'm thinking of using it as the middle name.

Kescilly · 01/02/2019 23:23

Ah, so is the “h” not really pronounced? Either way, it’s beautiful!

OP posts:
MadeInCornwallx3 · 01/02/2019 23:47

@Kescilly I suppose it isn't though I'm so familiar with the name I suppose I'd never really thought about it! It's pronounced the same as Briar, just with a Cornish spelling.

Wondering what youve chosen now - cryptic haha Smile

Kescilly · 01/02/2019 23:57

I’m happy to tell you privately! I’ll probably be posting it on here at some point, I’m sure.

madamdarkin · 02/02/2019 00:16

@Fabuluce thank you so much xx

Yes, massive relief!

Kimbishop86 · 03/02/2019 08:32

Has anyone else been having stomach cramps? At first I thought it was just a stomach bug or similar but now I’m wondering if it’s Brixton hix?

Changingagain · 03/02/2019 08:52

Kimbishop86 yes I think I've been getting them, especially after first getting up in the morning. I've also had bad diarrhea (sorry) a few times but the cramps with that have been low down, whereas the others are higher up and feel more like they're on my bump rather than inside.

Kimbishop86 · 03/02/2019 09:54

I’m glad it’s not just me then! I’ve also had diarrhoea which is why I thought at first it was just that!

Heebyjeeby99 · 03/02/2019 10:29

Had a fall yesterday ladies. Landed on my side, big bruise on my leg and head.

Called hospital and they told me to come in. It's wonderful being over 17 weeks and not being fobbed off by the EPU anymore, felt like they actually took thus seriously.

They listened to heartbeat which took a while to find, but she said she could feel the baby wriggling, much to my suprise as I have still felt nothing. But tested protein in my urine and I had high blood pressure so they've sent off urine and swabs to lab....something else to worry about hey.

I also went wedding dress shopping yesterday as getting married in December and thought I better do it before I got a bump...and every woman was like 'no way are you 22 weeks there's nothing there'. Guess they were trying to be nice but I'm the worst person to say that to right now....!

Heebyjeeby99 · 03/02/2019 10:33

@socktastic you poor thing! I've had one of those before and was in agony...so much so I thought I might have to call the fire brigade....not sure what i thought they could do Grin. It was the worst pain I'd ever had (haven't given birth yet...Wink). Hope it's out and you're over the trauma....! Fibre, fibre, fibre is my only advice!

Bluebeee · 03/02/2019 10:55

Hi. I've been lurking for a while but not posted yet. Had a mc last year so been waiting to get too excited about this pregnancy. Second scan is Tuesday but feeling ready now. The mn fb group from my daughter has been invaluable so wanted to check in with you guys.

DC2 due 22nd June
Age (at due date): 30
Predicted sex of baby: scan Tuesday. Was a surprise with dd1 but finding out this time. I'm certain it's a boy.
Location: Swindon

coastergirl · 03/02/2019 11:28

I feel really weird today. Like I've got pressure going up to my lungs making me short of breath, and down into my pelvis. Very uncomfortable. Not even 20 weeks yet! I hate pregnancy. I hate how it's such a taboo to say that too. Of course I feel very lucky to be having this baby and that's amazing, but I still think pregnancy itself sucks. Got my 20 week scan on Tuesday and I'm terrified. For some reason I'm convinced there is something wrong. Ugh. Sorry. Random ramble there!

Changingagain · 03/02/2019 12:06

coastergirl I have my scan tomorrow and I'm feeling the same. I remember feeling in before the 20 scan last time too though and everything was fine.
I also spent a lot of time during my last pregnancy trying to get dh to understand that I hated being pregnant but was also very very happy to be so. He kept thinking I'd changed my mind about having a baby.

hexagon01 · 03/02/2019 12:11

Heebyjeeby yikes at your fall, but it must have been reassuring to be so well looked after.

Hi 👋🏼 Bluebeee!

Coastergirl I hate being pregnant so so much.

Kescilly · 03/02/2019 13:35

Welcome @Bluebeee! So pleased to hear it’s all going well for you.

@coastergirl I’ve had an easy pregnancy so far and I can still find a lot to complain about. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, feel free to vent here anytime! I’ll be thinking of you on a Tuesday, hope it all goes well.

@Heebyjeeby99 I’m sorry about your fall, that must have been scary and painful. How are you feeling now? Any luck with the dress shopping? I used to work in a bridal store and it was really interesting.

OP posts:
rollerskaterdata · 03/02/2019 15:18

@Heebyjeeby99 I also had a fall a few days ago, bloody snow! I'm glad they checked you over thoroughly and baby is fine. Keeping everything crossed for your test results, when do you get them back?

Spargle · 03/02/2019 18:42

Well, I have the 20-week scam tomorrow. Baby has had a very slow day today, and didn’t even protest when I lay down partly on my stomach, so I’m feeling a bit anxious (it did kick a few times, and had a bit of a wriggle eventually, but I hate these quiet days!).

While I was contemplating whether or not there was anything wrong, Mother called. She didn’t have much to say, but said that my scan tomorrow was exciting. I said that I hoped so. She said that it will be exciting to see the baby moving around. I said that I hoped so. She berated me for being so unenthusiastic. I replied with sarcasm. She berated me for being sarcastic. I told her to fuck off and started crying (haven’t done that before! Not out loud, anyway). She decided she didn’t really want to continue the phone call, and that it was time for DH to take over.

I wish she’d be a bit sensitive and not tell me how to think! Because she wasn’t anxious, nobody else is allowed to be. Ugh. Maybe next time I’m feeling anxious I’ll just try not answering the phone. Must get her number programmed into the house phone (she just changed it) so I can avoid her properly!

Napssavelives · 03/02/2019 19:41

Feeling very pregnant and hormonal this evening. Achy, very sick , sore boobs. Baby is kicking away so I think he’s happy but feeling like crap. Had no sleep last bight which won’t be helping how terrible I feel.
