@cravingmilkshake congrats! What clues are there whether it’s a boy/girl at this stage? (I’m going to be overanalysing mine tomorrow as I’m desperate to know!)

@beckanne90 that bump is impressive! Should have done more gymnastics in my youth 😆 maybe if I start a few exercises now it’ll keep it in.... wishful thinking haha

I’ll probaby tell my family this weekend, or next week (although I’d love to wait waaaay longer). If anything just to stop the nagging from DH. I also kind of need their help getting my house sorted....

Beckanne90 · 17/01/2019 15:44

@reeny19 google nub theory. Some nubs are visible on the scan. My little girls scan had a visible nub but none of my boys did. It’s meant to be more accurate closer to 13 weeks as the nub can still rise after 12 weeks. Girls nubs are parallel to the spine and boys rise away from it.

reeny19 · 17/01/2019 16:06

Interesting, will google it! I’m nearing 13 weeks (unless they re-date me) so hopefully there’ll be something to analyse!

Kentishgal · 17/01/2019 16:47

That bump is crazy!! I'm so envious of your stomach muscles - I did lots of gymnastics and I appear to have none. In fact, I already look like I've eaten Mr Blobby. Everyone just keeps asking when I'm due - you only do that when the bump is REALLY obvious and you're 100% sure! And then "woah you're big" - I've had that a number of times already 😱

BeckyButterfly · 17/01/2019 17:05

@Beckanne90 I’m already bigger than that at 13 weeks.

@Kentishgal I’m getting the same comments!
I went back to work today after just over a week off and everyone was touching my belly. There’s no way I could hide it now!

Beckanne90 · 17/01/2019 17:22

Crazy isn’t it. When I’m early early pregnant I get really bad bloat but then it goes at about 9/10 weeks.

Kentishgal · 17/01/2019 17:32

I'm on the train and nobody has offered a seat - the other people standing just kicked up a fuss on my behalf and still nobody has offered - unbelievable really isn't it! They told me to sit in first class!

BirthdayKake · 17/01/2019 18:05

@Kentishgirl what twats!! Hope you're ok xx

Kentishgal · 17/01/2019 18:10

Also got a real hacking cough so I just coughed all over them - gits! I just would never dream of doing that - I've always been the first person to offer up my seat to anyone elderly / disabled / pregnant. And especially if other people are asking on your behalf - the general public never cease to amaze - I'm sure there is nobody in my social circle who would behave like that so who are these people!

Gilli1234 · 17/01/2019 18:45

Anyone absolutely starving all the time?! I’m now 14 weeks and can not get enough food down me, after eating nothing but watermelon for the past 12 weeks. Sickness Seemed to stop overnight and now I just can’t atop eating! Grin
But I still have no bump?! Just looking a bit, well, chubby!!!!

Squ1ggle · 17/01/2019 18:50

@Kentishgal I'm huge! Don't think my stomach muscles ever got the memo that they have a function Grin I'm 16+1 and look at least 25 weeks. People ask me when I'm due and look really surprised when I say July Blush

wombatron · 17/01/2019 18:59

Hallo all. After a busy few weeks I've finally managed to have my 12 week scan. 12+4 with a happy and seemingly healthy little one. It moves around so much! Turned it's back on us mainly but we did manage to get the NUchal measurement. I'm due 28th July so I know I'm one of the last - I hope all the others have been good? I'm sorry I can't read the whole thread but will try and keep track from now one

How is everyone? Any recommendations for mat trousers for work that don't cost a small fortune? All my trousers are too tight Blush

Capybaras · 17/01/2019 19:09

Great news on the scan @wombatron
I still haven't found any decent work trousers so been sticking to dresses most days, with the occasional mat jean thrown in when I haven't got any meetings!

If anyone else can recommend some though that would be great!

Giraffe888 · 17/01/2019 19:31

Great news on the scans today ladies!

I’m so nervous for mine tomorrow x

BeckyButterfly · 17/01/2019 19:31

I really need to invest in some maternity clothes but I don’t like that most shops only do them online. I want to try them on first.

Giraffe888 · 17/01/2019 19:32

Is there anything I need to know for scan? What does the nuchal measurement need to be? X

RoseBud2016 · 17/01/2019 19:43

@Giraffe under 3.5mm but under 2mm is ideal I believe.

The best of luck for tomorrow! What time is your scan?

Giraffe888 · 17/01/2019 19:44

Thank you @rosebud2016 it’s at 10.50am x

TwinkleDay · 17/01/2019 20:10

@cravingmilkshake congratulations lovely scan... I have been doing research on my scan too and look like a girl like my fredricka. Quite a flat forehead too like mine little ones.

Anyone good at guessing the sex?

ReginaPhalange89 · 17/01/2019 20:35

My scan is also tomorrow and I'm feeling sick with nerves now ! Eeek. Not til the afternoon either, bet it's such a long morning

Congrats on your scan today @wombatron! Good to see you back !

wombatron · 17/01/2019 20:47

Eeeek good luck @ReginaPhalange89 and @Giraffe888 ! I thought both of yours were yesterday for some reason! Fingers crossed!

I am being really greedy and have booked the Harmony NIPT test for tomorrow. I was really disappointed with my scan today - baby was moving a lot which I could see, but the scan itself was so unclear :( does anyone else find the same?

OP posts:
Giraffe888 · 17/01/2019 20:56

@wombatron that’s not being greedy! We’ve got early gender scan booked for 16 wks too. By 20wks we’ll have had 5 scans 😳

@reginaphalange89 good luck tomorrow, will be thinking of you

ReginaPhalange89 · 17/01/2019 21:09

Thank you @Giraffe888 ! Good luck to you too! Hope it goes well xx

mumofone25 · 17/01/2019 21:37

Hi everyone. Please may I join in? I’ve been following the thread but been to nervous to post! I’m 13+1 and due on 24/7/19 ☺️

StargazyDrifter · 17/01/2019 23:17

Good news on more scans!

Kentishgal that is ridiculous about your train, I don't think I could do that, even if someone paid me. The guilt/shame/embarrassment or just remaining seated would eat me up.

I've seen a few seemingly professional and respectable people behave badly on those Waterloo to Surrey trains when anonymous. Last time I took one, I pulled someone up for manspreading - it was summer and they were resting their bare and clammy leg on mine despite me shrinking away more and more, but they kept refusing to get out of my space so I had to stand while he eventually sat on both seats! This was a perfectly healthy looking young chap, who had no difficulty in getting up and off the train in the end. I do the coughing too! 😉
