@BirthdayKake I like penguins can you tell 🥰

Giraffe888 · 11/01/2019 20:37

@twinkleday I was just going to say I’m guessing you like penguins 😂

StargazyDrifter · 11/01/2019 20:42

Doughnuts thank you for sharing the tip on tablets. I had Cyclizine (I think!?) prescribed but didn't get on with it, too drowsy. So I'll also make a note for next time I mean why would I want to do this again!?.

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/01/2019 22:03

@twinkle omg you're so cute 😂😂😂 a spreadsheet haha

TwinkleDay · 12/01/2019 08:04

@ReginaPhalange89 I bet your all going to find yourselves doing it too or at least a detailed list!

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/01/2019 08:16

Haha I think once you get to your 3rd baby you stop all that. It's funny how different your first is to the rest lol.

Giraffe888 · 12/01/2019 08:33

I’ve got a list on my phone of the bits we’ve bought!

What’s everyone doing this weekend? I’m working all weekend, counting down to my day off on Monday!

TwinkleDay · 12/01/2019 08:33

Yes true... Unless you come to sell up and haven't got a clue what you have !

BirthdayKake · 12/01/2019 08:40

@TwinkleDay I wouldn't have a clue how to make a spreadsheet tbh! All I know is that when I find out the sex I'm going to to a little crazy buying clothes lol

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/01/2019 08:54

Haha yes I definitely wouldn't have a clue how to do a spreadsheet either .

To be fair I probably will make a list of things we need ! I got rid of everything after my first girl and had to buy all new last time, kept everything this time and bet this one's a boy 😂

I'm going to try not to buy clothes because I've done that the last 2 times and then ended up getting a tonne of stuff at baby showers and then even more at the birth. Everyone tends to buy little sizes too so you hardly get putting things on more than once !

I'm doing absolutely nothing this weekend ! It's raining , boo! My OH is off work so I'm hoping I'll get a night off from the wee one tonight, she's been waking every single night 3-5am 😭 slowly going crazy, need a full night of uninterrupted sleep !

Giraffe888 · 12/01/2019 08:59

Have any of you got an idea of what you think you’re having? Most people think I’m having girl. DH thinks boys because boys far outweigh girls in both our families!

cravingmilkshake · 12/01/2019 09:05

Good morning. We are telling people today!!! Very excited!

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/01/2019 09:44

@giraffe888 I honestly don't have a gut feeling yet, I think once I've had my scan I will . I just knew my last was a girl after the 12 week scan.
I've 2 girls already so part of me does think surely this must be a boy ! Plus I've not had the horrendous sickness I had with the girls, so it does feel a bit different . I'm telling myself it's another girl though so I'm not too surprised if it is another 😂

Jxtina86 · 12/01/2019 10:13

@TwinkleDay I bloody love a spreadsheet! But then again I work in data so spend all day every day in them. Yours is such a good idea. I do the same with my own clothes (don't have a lot of space so capsule wardrobe and it's easier to keep track of what I have, what I need to replace etc). We've also started one as a basic list of other things we need to get and will start using it to compare prices from different stores to ensure a good deal. Now where's my 'I love spreadsheets' mug...

Oh and I reckon I'm having a boy too. Everyone I know has had boys. Plus I just know if I have a girl, everyone will go nuts on the pink frilliness and I just can't lol.

TwinkleDay · 12/01/2019 10:26

@Jxtina86 I work with death my spread sheet and bench marking products and data capture so yesterday I thought why they heck not start one for Fred x

StargazyDrifter · 12/01/2019 10:34

I'm no good with spreadsheets, but I do love a list. Have a few in my phone - things I've bought for me, things to buy for the baby, big purchases. It's difficult to remember otherwise. DH also has a spreadsheet which I've been trying to stay away from!

Think I'm having a boy. No real reason for that thought, just a feeling, and ultimately I don't really have a preference. My family and DH's family are very girl-heavy though so who knows! I wouldn't want all the pink frills either, becomes a sort of uniform quite quickly.

Yukka · 12/01/2019 10:50

Morning ladies , gosh you lot have been busy this morning! I’m still fighting this insomnia, all week it’s the 4am wake up, drift off at 6:30, alarm goes at 7 for work, this morning at least I managed to sleep from 6:30 to 10:15. I’m a bloody misery pants with no sleep! Poor Dh.

12 week scan on Monday for me. I had wondered if I’m sub consciously stressing and that’s keeping me awake. But we had a good scan at 10.4 so I should be fine. I guess maybe it’s starting to feel a bit more real that this one might make it :) here’s hoping.

We’re an all girl family..3 sisters and 6 nieces... we’re not going to find out the surprise will be fun.

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/01/2019 11:01

Neither of my girls have been pink frilly babies , I made it pretty clear with my second that I don't like pink, and most people didn't buy any! Lol. there's no need for it really, there are so many other lovely colours. I love girly patterns etc but I can't bare little girls being dressed head to toe in Pepto bismol pink ! Lol. Same for the nursery . My wee ones room was done up in aqua, lemon and lilac colours

Kentishgal · 12/01/2019 11:08

I'm so sorry *essexgirlupnorth - look after yourself.

Talking of awkward, I went to my friend's mum's funeral yesterday and at the wake I was talking to her sis (who I knew just had a miscarriage after first round of ivf) so I held my coat in front of my humongous bump hoping she wouldn't notice. But forgot I was wearing my sickness bands on my wrists and she saw and asked if I was pregnant - had to tell her the truth - turns out I'm a week ahead of what she would have been. Felt so bad - and at her mum's funeral too.

Wish I was good at lists - definitely going to attempt to do so this time (once we know the sex). Think it was more luck than judgement last time.

BirthdayKake · 12/01/2019 11:15

I think mine is a girl - kind of hope it is! Although I don't really mind

FuzzyPixel · 12/01/2019 11:21

I'm another one who works in data using spreadsheets.

I've had dreams where I've had a baby girl recently, but I'm not at all bothered about what sex the baby is.

I beed to buy some maternity clothes soon, I only wear high-waisted jeans which are proving to be a nightmare!

BeckyButterfly · 12/01/2019 11:26

I feel the same about pink! I was saying to a friend of mine yesterday that no one will know if my baby is a girl because it’ll constantly be dressed in dinosaur clothes (I love dinosaurs!) She said she’s going to buy me a load of pink stuff just to pee me off!

We are going to find out the sex (fingers crossed we get that far) I really don’t mind either way. The hubby keeps saying he wants a boy but I don’t think he minds really.

RooKangaroo · 12/01/2019 11:53

@TwinkleDay - don't know if I've missed this, it why 'Fred'?

@Yukka - I'm the same! Seem to be waking around 4am and can't get back to sleep until 6 :(

@Kentishgal - oh, what an awful situation for you and the sister to be in. Bless you for trying to keep it under wraps and focus on her.

I'm also very anti-pink, but my DD absolutely loves it. If she ever gets a choice of colour, 75% of the time she chooses pink. It's changed how I feel about it a bit, actually. I thought her wardrobe was quite mixed and had lots of colours in there, but It obviously stop her choosing the combinations she wants. I don't want to stop her choosing a pink top and pink trousers and pink jumper to wear at the same - she likes it, it's probably a phase, and I'm less fussed about it than I was.

I strongly object to pink automatically being a 'girl's colour', though, and find it frustrating when SIL (who openly says girls should wear pink, have long hair, and do ballet), buys big pink plastic toys for DD. I know these toys and I know they come in other colours!

RooKangaroo · 12/01/2019 11:55

@BeckyButterfly - I LOVE dinosaurs! We dressed DD in dinosaurs loads when she was a baby and so many people thought she was a boy. I didn't care one jot, but it was frustrating when they would then say 'why is she wearing blue/dinosaurs, then, if she's a girl?' 🙄

StargazyDrifter · 12/01/2019 12:00

I like your style, Regina and Becky!

Kentishgal that is very awkward, unfortunately not a lot you could do. It'd have been more awkward to lie (like that it's for car-sickness), only for her to realise/see the bump when you weren't looking. I'd have preferred to be told anyway. Tough for both of you though.

About bumps... I'm 14+5. DH says it's showing. I also think it's showing a bit, because I sort of look like I've got a food baby even though the constipation is gone (hurrah for that!). Clothes are tighter and, because my boobs have got bigger, I sort of look thicker and blobbier in the middle overall. But when I lie down, my tummy is completely flat... So do I not have a baby bump yet then? Full disclosure my tummy muscles are pretty weak and, while I'm average build and size, I'm an apple shape so there has always been extra padding. If it's not bump, can I still exercise that away? Under supervision of course.
