Aww, @TwinkleDay, that's so sweet of your dad!

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 08/01/2019 22:58

@StargazyDrifter I think high is anything more than 1 in 150?

I'm also waiting for my NIPT results

StargazyDrifter · 08/01/2019 23:02

Thanks, Doughnuts. Did you choose to find out the sex, too? We did, can't wait!!!

Giraffe888 · 09/01/2019 06:35

@michelle0507 that’s exactly what I used to get! I don’t know if it shouldn’t be done but I personally wouldn’t. It’s all to do with your body temperature getting too high too x

Giraffe888 · 09/01/2019 06:36

Well I didn’t feel as ill yesterday as previous days but all that’s done is make me worry that there’s something wrong 😳

thedust · 09/01/2019 07:22

BirthdayKake so sorry about your cat Sad

I went to my first aqua-natal class last night, it's a new course to the area and I was the only one there! So it was basically 1-2-1. A bit awkward at first but ok. Feel knackered this morning.

Yukka · 09/01/2019 07:43

@giraffe888 m symptoms eased up a lot a few days ago too. Only for having a scan last Thursday I’d be worried. I still have slightly tender breast, sleeping issues etc but the sickness and food issues have gone xx

blueeyedviking · 09/01/2019 07:55

@birthdaycake So sorry to hear about your cat. I've got one as well and my heart would break if something happens to him.

@giraffe888 my nausea etc eased up after 10/11 weeks and now at 14 I only have a few symptoms. It's completely normal to panic though, but equally it's completely normal for the symptoms to disappear.

My week has been super hectic at work and not sleeping well so not had a chance to read up yet. I told work and they were supportive, they are planning a restructure of the team so we'll see what happens there. But I made it clear I know my rights when it comes to my promotion.

TwinkleDay · 09/01/2019 08:35

@blueeyedviking restructuring of the team sounds like my place! Do you work in food product development by any chance?

I have my 16 week midwife appointment this morning. Got my urine sample already, be odd going to an appointment without OH for a change.

Jxtina86 · 09/01/2019 09:13

Has everyone been told to bring a urine sample to their 16 week appt? They didn't mention anything to me when I booked or give me anything to bring?! Guess I just do a sample there?!

blueeyedviking · 09/01/2019 09:34

@twinkleday No I work in sports... They basically offered me a promotion before Christmas so I accepted that on a few conditions (e.g I want to see a JD, offer letter etc) on Monday, however they haven't even spoken to HR yet! So, who knows what will actually happen.
When will you find out? It really does add stress to your everyday doesn't it. We've had it hanging over us as a team since October!

I've got a midwife appointment today, I'm only 14 weeks though so not sure why so early, but I think it's my 16 week one and not been told to bring anything. For my 12 week one I did have to bring a urine sample (yuck carrying that with me)

I'm working from home today, that extra 90minutes of sleep has done wonders!

TwinkleDay · 09/01/2019 09:43

Yes have been told to bring urine to this one

@blueeyedviking well there was supposed to be a consultation with members from all over the country who stand for each sector tommorow but has now been post poned! Either way I look at it I need to stay there until june doing anything in that business to get my maternity leave so that is quite limited really when can't be on my feet for too long by the time this is all over:.. stick me on filling or something more office based for a bit I suppose... so much speculation. What about your timescales ?

TwinkleDay · 09/01/2019 09:44

Ah October wow it was only told to us before Xmas ! What a poor time

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 09/01/2019 09:56

@StargazyDrifter no, I'm having the test through the nhs, so it's a fair bit cheaper (I paid £300) but they don't offer finding out the sex. I'm desperate to know but thought we'd wait till the next scan.

blueeyedviking · 09/01/2019 10:00

@twinkleday - Oh it's so annoying when they postpone such a crucial update/meeting.

My manager has been talking about it openly that he wants to restructure the team since October, but told me on Monday he hasn't even spoken to HR yet so who knows how long it will take. As they have offered me a promotion as part of that restructure (pre-pregnancy) I don't think I'll get the axe; as they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. It just makes the work environment so unbearable though - as everyone is working on eggshells.

TheScaredyKat · 09/01/2019 10:39

I'm 16w tomorrow and haven't had an appointment through for it yet. Am I meant to book it myself? I haven't booked any of my other appointments myself.

thedust · 09/01/2019 10:44

TheScaredyKat it probably varies trust to trust. At my 12 week scan at the hospital they told me to phone my GP to book my 16 week appointment. The community midwives work out of GP surgeries here so I phoned them and have one in 3 weeks. I'd have a look through your folder and call someone to ask.

FuzzyPixel · 09/01/2019 11:44

Hi all

I was given my 16 week appointment at my booking in appointment. They gave me the date for my 12 weeks at my booking in appointment too.

Our 16 week appointment is a group appointment and is combined with an antenatal class. During the class, they take you off separately to do the oberservations they need to do.

Giraffe888 · 09/01/2019 12:36

@TheScaredyKat my midwife said I’d need to make my 16wk appt myself x

HchyScott · 09/01/2019 13:08

@TheScaredyKat I was told I had to make my 16 week appointment myself and it was written in my notes too. Does that make you due end of June? X

TheScaredyKat · 09/01/2019 13:31

Oh maybe I was supposed to do it! I'll ring them later.
Yes due 27th June @HchyScott, it was originally 2nd July but got skipped forwards at the dating scan, I think we probably just have a big baby though tbh! I'm 5'11 and the DH is 6'6 so wouldn't be surprised

Kentishgal · 09/01/2019 13:53

I see a few of you have had the NIPT test carried out - I'm thinking about it as an option. Anybody got any thoughts on it? I've just driven myself insane with Google and not sure I will be reassured even if my NHS result comes back as low.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 09/01/2019 13:54

I had a probate scan today and unfortunately the babys heart had stopped. Its a late missed miscarriage.
Please don't stress and worry it might happen to you, these are very rare and dispite having 4 kids already, this is miscarage number 7 for me. I'm high risk because of my uterus.
It's been lovely chatting and I wish you all the best in your pregnancies. Xx

Notanotherpawpatrol · 09/01/2019 13:55

Private obviously 🙄 not probate 🙈

Kentishgal · 09/01/2019 14:08

Notanotherpawpatrol I am so sorry to hear that. Best of luck to you with the future.
