Hope no-one else has started a new thread, I couldn't find it if so.

Just wanted to send hugs of support to Holly. I hope it all goes well.

Will check in tomorrow if I can to update.

Good luck!

Ouch at giving birth to a 3 year old

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 15:48

LOL at the three year old.

I had a very disturbing dream about bf last night which involved kinkiness with a strange man i met in new york woke up all a flutter.

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 15:49

hi sputnik.....i was just thinking about Doggus earlier....and catsuitgirl.

annobal · 25/06/2007 15:55

PMSL Daisy - I read 'kinkiness' as 'kindness'

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 16:19

Sputnik, was it you who recommended aloe vera for sore nips? Any particular sort, my mums given me some gel - 99.9% aloe vera or something. Do you think that would be OK?

DKMA, I'd do 1cm a week if it were painless!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 16:25

I know like I'm going to sound like a spoilt bitch here now but I really want to cry and get this off my chest......

My horsebox needs its MOT this week - so I sent it to the garage for it's prep and they've just called me to tell me it will cost £2500 approx to get it through it's test.
I feel like I'm going to fucking throw up

Why now????????????????
It's driving like a dream - it feels fine - this is a total shocker

I rang my DH to tell him and he just started ranting on about 'the fucking horse this - the fucking horsebox that' - and mentioned the phrase 'bottomless pit of money' He's really pissed off - understandably cos he knows I can't pay for it all myself and he's going to need to chip in. He finished on the phone with 'we'll talk about this when I get home' so it looks like I'm in for a fun night

Not after any sympathy here cos I know I'm very lucky to have a horse etc - loads of people can't afford stuff like that I know - so just ignore me. It's just very theraputic (sp?) to vent my spleen on here IYKWIM.

I just want to think about having my baby tho not have to think of ways to magic up £2500

justbeme · 25/06/2007 16:29

Oh God DKMA, thats an awful amount of money. Why don't they give you a breakdown of costs and then maybe you could get a second opinion /quote?

What awful timing eh? You be careful tonight - dont get too het up or it could bring on labour and you'll be in the wrong frame of mind!!

annobal · 25/06/2007 16:37

DKMA! I'd go for a 2nd opinion as well. If you can, forget about it for now - I'm sure DH will understand

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 16:38

Thanks JBM
The fella gave me a breakdown over the phone - the thing is they are a MOT test centre (not many about for HGV's) and they can run it through all the MOT test equiptment before the test - to be sure it passes (test alone = £211). So they really have me over a barrel - they know I'd be daft to take it anywhere else - plus they say it's not safe to drive as only one wheel (out of 6) is breaking!!!

When DH started ranting on the phone I nearly wept - I think he could tell - he backed off a bit.

I'm now starting to feel very crampy around the bottom of my bump , maybe this baby needs a bit of stress to get him out?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 16:40

I'd love to go to night school and train as a mechanic.
I so hate that I know nothing about this sort of thing - and they could tell me any kind of shit

derlor · 25/06/2007 16:44

knock knock, i know i'm from the other side now but just wanted to say hello and express my excitement at all the clearly impending labours!!!!
DKMA - Don't mean to confuse you more, but my waters never broke AT ALL with DD1, she was born with a kind of shower cap on her head full of my waters, very lucky aparantly, so just be aware this CAN happen!!
Foxy Text me immediately you go into labour and i will alert everyone . sounds like sooner rather than later
Right i'm off to catch up on the sore nipple, windy baby, lack of sleep thread - enjoy your last few days of being PG girls

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 16:49

Oh wow Delor at shower cap!
My text buddy is Trace - not heard from her for a while tho.... Are you out there Trace?
She's got a lovely baby to play with now - I bet she's busy!

justbeme · 25/06/2007 17:20

Do you need to use your horsebox for a while DYMA? Could you declare it off road and then save up for a few months later on?

Im not sure what low cramps mean - anyone? How do contractions start Low/middle or high?? (ive forgotten after 12 yrs!!)

annobal · 25/06/2007 17:23

Apparently (I was reading last night) the difference between BHs and contractions are BHs at the top as tightenings and early contractions at bottom of stomach and back like period pain.

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 17:31

DKMA....I wonder if it would be that much if it was your DH they were dealing with. declaring it off road would be the best option. It is a horrible amount of money though; we need about the same amount, but for the garage roof which is leaking big time!

All these pains etc sound very promising....

justbeme · 25/06/2007 17:36

ohh errr!!! Look out DKMA - you could be next!!!!

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 17:44

That is a big pile of shite DKMA! Really feel for you. Even if it wasn't as bad as it was, it would be a major pisser happening now, but the fact that it costs so much money - shitfuckarsewank.

Bit like when our boiler went, more than I could cope with so I really do feel for you. Last thing you need right now.

Grrrrr for you

hollyandalice · 25/06/2007 17:50

DKMA I did give birth to a 3 year old
(practically)!! That's shitty about your horse box, hope you can get it sorted without too much hassle or expense. Sounds like you are ready to pop, so maybe you won't have to think about it for a while!

I miss the AN thread! I don't miss being pg though!

derlor · 25/06/2007 18:02

I THINK YOU'RE ALL IN LABOUR!!!!!!!!!!

derlor · 25/06/2007 18:03

and re the horse box situation, poor you, NOT what you need right now. oh oh, baby to feed.......again!!

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 18:05

No. Not until I've got the school runs covered.

annobal · 25/06/2007 18:09

Apart from me

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 18:10

Thanks for support everyone

DH is home now and has not thrown a bender like I thought he would. He's going to go to the garage to talk to the fella and see about doing a deal for cash or something (man to man - they like that sort of thing don't they?). Thing is the garage mostly deals with large commercial hauliers so they don't have pg women sobbing on the phone very often - here's hoping they'll show some mercy and keep costs down as much as poss and do a deal on the VAT (dodgy I know but needs must)

At the risk of sounding spoilt again DH was just telling me we need to tighten our belts and cut some costs to cover this and suggested I don't spend so much getting my hair done , I think I'd rather sell the house than not get my hair done!!!

The lower bump aches keep coming and going but I wouldn't describe them as painful - just a bit crampy - I think I'll be abit like TA I wont believe it's happening till it's crowning!

justbeme · 25/06/2007 18:13

DKMA - thats how my labour started with my DD!!! Watch out!! I shall be waiting with anticipation!

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 18:16

That's good news DKMA, leave it to the menfolk. Vehicles are defo their department. Which is why my DP will be walking everywhere once this one is born as he has failed to do anything about a car which will fit the 6 of us

Perhaps you'll get the full-on overdue experience this time Annobal?

Maybe we are all waiting for the full-moon on Saturday and our cervixes and uteruses are just limbering up for a mass birth. Or some such hippy shite.
