Hope no-one else has started a new thread, I couldn't find it if so.

Just wanted to send hugs of support to Holly. I hope it all goes well.

Will check in tomorrow if I can to update.

Good luck!

I have had that 'I need a poo feeling' for a few days. With DS1 I thought I was constipated all night and kept getting up and eating bran flakes. I went into labout in the early hours.

We have decided on our girls names ut completely stumped on boys name. just can't decide.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 12:56

ok - back again - and no I didn't actually need a pooh - just had that feeling.
Sweep has caused a bit of bleeding tho - so I've put on a maternity pad I'm sure one of the baby's nappies would be smaller and easier to walk in

justbeme · 25/06/2007 12:59

I did read somewhere that a MW recommended wearing a nappy in your pants for the 1st few days rather than maternity pads!!
Not sure if I'll try it though!

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 13:13

DKMA.....some advice picked up from Lulu......make sure the baby is in a good position before you let them break your waters.....if the baby is OP (back to back) it makes for a very long and painful labour if your waters are broken as the lack of liquor makes it difficult for the baby to turn.

Is this turning into a live birth thread?

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 13:14

Someone on here suggested Tena pants as they are super absorbent.....then you just throw the whole thing away.

annobal · 25/06/2007 13:17

DKMA - sounds as though things are moving. Keep bouncing on your ball. The waters don't necessarily go, especially if your baby is in the optimum position for birthing (LOA)

DC now painting and I have a feeling it's all about to go horribly wrong as there appears to be more paint on each other than on the paper

TALLULAHBELLE · 25/06/2007 13:18

Just popping in to say Hi to all those still waiting. Am thinking of you all, just never have time to check in these days. See from the stats that BIG congrats due to Holly. Well done - what a whopper

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 13:24

Hi tallulah....how is it going?

Sounds like your LO is keeping you busy.

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 13:30

I read the other day that only 15% of labours start with waters breaking. So you are relatively safe to go out and about (unless you're heavily pg and on a crowded tube train in a soap opera!).

Needing to poo could be baby pressing on your bowel, like needing to pee. Either way, you are on your way - 3 cms is great! 4 is considered established labour.

Wimbledon, like Glastonbury, needs the rain. Makes it more of an event! As long as it rains at the end of the day to stop play, the DP can come home early. Otherwise I'm doing tea, bath and bed on my own!

justbeme · 25/06/2007 13:32

what does yr dp do at wimbledon foxy

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 13:41

nothing glam, but works in telly. nice work if you can get it and are a complete sports-head. which i am most definately not! just another thing we don't have in common!

justbeme · 25/06/2007 13:46

Me too - cant stand watching sport!!

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 13:48

Its the noise! Can't bear the noisy rugby matches he watches. Grrrrrrrrr!

Are you having any inklings of when your lo is going to come out? I'm having false starts most evenings, and I'm thinking 'OK, this could be it' but hasn't been. Are you getting anything?

justbeme · 25/06/2007 13:50

Not really - the odd twinge, but no NOTHING!!!
Like you my DD was 10 days over - so we could STILL have 14 yes 14 days left!!!!!!!!!! AGGHHHH

justbeme · 25/06/2007 13:53

The suns out lovely now!!!
Im going to make a cuppa and go and sit in the garden to get rid of this cabin fever!!
Be back later x

daisyboo · 25/06/2007 14:03

Still pissing down here.

annobal · 25/06/2007 14:11

Just grey and miserable here.

I'm getting lots of twinges also but I think that is probably because I'm not sleeping much (doing the dreaded wake up at 4am and not getting back to sleep. It's soooo frustrating. Poor DH - all he hears is how pissed off i am...

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 14:12

oh that's shit Annobal. Been doing that too.

Have you been to the gym yet?

annobal · 25/06/2007 14:14

Yes - went this morning. Think I will have to knock the park on the head though as the weather is shit here...

foxybrown · 25/06/2007 14:53

So do you exercise when you go?

Only asking as wondering if I have to....

annobal · 25/06/2007 15:08

LOL No...

sputnik · 25/06/2007 15:13

DKMAFME, sounds like you're a bit like I was cervix wise, and I was the same with DD too. You should be in for a short labour.

Interesting what you say about the waters, I was induced but I reckon we needn't have bothered with it in the end, I'd been having regular contractions anyway, 2 hours on the drip didn't achieve much, then they broke my waters a vroom, 20 minutes later he was out.

Anyway, sounds like you might well be next to go.

Nothing from Doggus in the last few days......

sputnik · 25/06/2007 15:13

How the hell can you do any exercise, I am in awe

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 15:29

Hey Sputnik

How are you doing? Is dh feeling better?

I wondered if I might be in for a short labour. We live about a 20 min drive from the hospital so I'm not going to be sure how long to leave it before I set off.

I'd always assumed that you had to have contractions in order to dilate and that = some sort of pain and discomfort. So I suppose it's nice I've got this far without any pain? I've sort of got a head start on labour! Just wondering if labour will EVER actually start tho?

Another thought is that I was 2 cm dilated last monday - now 3cm today - it's taken me a bloody week to dilate that 1cm - how long is it going to take to get to 10?

My mum told me this morning that she had a dream that I gave birth to a baby that was the size of a 3 yr old , he had teeth and hair etc!!

annobal · 25/06/2007 15:33

Hi Sputnik, hope DH is better. How are DCs getting on?

DKMA - don't worry about how long it takes to dilate - you can go from 4-10cms in a couple of contractions (or many hours).
