Hope no-one else has started a new thread, I couldn't find it if so.

Just wanted to send hugs of support to Holly. I hope it all goes well.

Will check in tomorrow if I can to update.

Good luck!

I've been feeling like I've had PMT for days (including wanting to tell DP I love him ).

Things are definately happening, but it could be hours, days or weeks.

And its pissing me off, quite frankly

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 19:53

I had things happening on and off for a couple of weeks as well......doesn't mean a right lot I suppose.

It was always in the evening with me as well, I wonder why that is

I'm feeling for bumper and pingu et al. I remember these times with DS and still shudder at the thought of having to latch him on to bleeding and cracked nipples. I can't believe how much easier it's been this time around and just wish there was something I could do to help.

Maybe we can pair people up?....there's lots of you in London so buddies can be teamed up. I can pop over to Cheshire to see DKMA (when she finally has the bub).....you get the idea.

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 19:54

I never had the urge to tell DH I love him though

foxybrown · 24/06/2007 19:57

I whisked Em to hospital when she was 2 days old during a very, cold frosty november night because she'd spewed up a bit of blood. Of course it was mine, from a cracked nip, but I had to be sure.

They didn't even look at her.

Can't say it get easier the more you have!

foxybrown · 24/06/2007 20:00

Don't worry Daisy, just told my DP to "fuck off". Twunt.

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 20:02

My lord you are hormonal aren't you?

riabutterflew · 24/06/2007 20:20

Guess what? It's Sunday. My DH isn't here. Will have to wait and find out if it's his fault or not before I do the fuck off thing though...

Hope you feel better soon foxy.

My bigger boys need putting to bed. baby is asleep (again - he slept through the visit from MIL so she didn't get to pick him up and I didn't have to feed him - yipee! He also slept through the visit with my sister, which I feel slightly more guilty about, but it meant I didn't have to refuse to let my niece (10) hold him). We got lots of gifts from my sister, and G got a teddy from his granny who was apologising for not having bought him anything (grandad was able to give her a list of the things she actually has bought him! Bless them. I do so love my parents.)

Yippie..

Just pressed the refresh button and there's people on here!!

Hi

It's gettin a bit lonely around here - Having thoughts of going into labour - coming on mn and everyone being too busy with their lovely babies to be around to calm my panic!!

It is soo lovely to know that everyone is there - the other side with loads of great advice tho. And Daisy - you are so kind to suggest meeting up with us newies to help us get started with feeding etc! Maybe we should get webcams?!!

I really don't understand this labour thing!
How can it be possible for me to have had a show and when checked by mw on Monday (and given sweep) to have a cervix that is soft, ready, stretchy to 2cm, that is admitting finger easily (ewe! mw words not mine), to then have a further show until Wednesday - and then develop to a big fat nothing!!
I am paraniod about waters going in public - what's holding it all in? Is he just going to fall out whilst walking around the supermarket?

Just don't get it!

lilKelBel · 24/06/2007 20:58

Hey DKMA. Well I am flabbergasted - all those signs and indications, and nothing yet??!? My goodness I never had so much as a twinge till the moment full-fledged contractions kicked in every 5 minutes!! I'd say you will pop in the next 24 hours (not that I'm any kind of expert in these things but you sound totally ready to me...)

seems a year has passed since S came along. she's already growing out of her first clothes

Uh oh better stop this or I'll get broody again at 5mo! That must, must not happen again!

hollyandalice · 24/06/2007 21:08

You will go DKMA! On wed when I had my sweep I was only 1cm and posterior, then all of a sudden my waters broke and out came a baby (well sort of)! You sound ready to pop!

I feel guilty for having my baby now! I was all ready to wait with you ladies and my William decided to come out almost on time! I shall hang around here and pretend I am still pg, it'll be fun!

Foxy, sorry you are feeling crappy and odd. Maybe you are ready to pop too!

Lilkel, thanks for the text btw!! I know you are my text buddy, but I texted foxy instead with my birth news because she was around that evening and I thought she was more likely to be up when I sent it!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 24/06/2007 21:24

MW is coming again tomorrow morning and will do another sweep - so who knows?
You would have put bets on me popping sometime last week tho?

Holly if you want to remember the 'good old days' of still being pg ........ I've just had a magnum (white) ice cream - it's cured the hb a treat! Now I'm just looking forward to my bedtime swig of gaviscon - straight from the bottle! (lovely).

Foxy - are you still there? Or are you having a breakdown or even a baby??

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 21:26

aaargh....having another Friday night moment. we've been feeding on and off for blardy hours.....fingers crossed we get another seven hours sleep, lol!

DKMA, it sounds like you could go at any time. When my waters went i was trying to sleep after being induced, and actually heard an audible loud POP, the there was liquor everywhere. dh got a fright as my mucous plug and show were in ther too and it was quite bloody. he thought i was having some sort of haemorhage!

hollyandalice · 24/06/2007 21:29

Glad the hb has gone dkma! A great excuse to eat icecream!!

I've just put some pics on my profile inc one of me looking rough just after giving birth!

lilKelBel · 24/06/2007 21:32

ah no worries holly. I've admittedly been a bit zombie mode lately so not necessarily hearing my phone! btw your DD looks just like you (lovely!)

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 24/06/2007 21:35

Ahh - just seen your pictures Holly! They are lovely! Looks like Alice is going to be the BEST big sister!!

Daisy - I'm turning into an agrophobic cos I'll be mortified if my waters break while I'm out in public - especially as the only trousers that fit me are my white linen ones you'd see straight through them if they got wet etc!

AIBU to have a maternity bed pad on the floor by the bed so if they go when I get up in the night etc then I won ruin the brand new carpet?

That reminds me - Hows the sofa Holly?

hollyandalice · 24/06/2007 21:41

Thanks guys, my alice is pretty special, although she did throw a mega block at william earlier! Luckily she has her mother's aim and it missed him!

The sofa is fine. I sort of cleaned it with some dettol and it has dried off. I need a nice sunny day so I can wash the covers and dry them properly!

I felt like that dkma. I didn't go out without dp for the last couple of weeks in case something happened.

justbeme · 24/06/2007 21:50

Hiya! Aww Holly William looks lovely - bet youre going to have to change alot of clothes for larger sizes though?

DKMA - I'll allow you to pop 1st - you are supposed to be before me after all!! I thought you were off having it earlier as it was so quiet on here!

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 21:50

holly...the one of you looking rough is a bit soft-focus so you don't look too bad

hollyandalice · 24/06/2007 21:54

Thanks daisy! I look stoned, prob all the g&a!

William is still in newborn sleepsuits, but they fit him well, so he'll prob be in 0-3 months in a couple of weeks!

I'm gonna take some paracetamol and go to bed, the afterpains are shocking!

Night all xx

justbeme · 24/06/2007 21:57

Night Holly!

Daisy - Hope youve had a good day with your Mum today - Im off now to keep my Dp company on the settee (I think he despairs at the amount of time i spend on MN!!)

Wishing you a good nights sleep (if thats possible!).

xx

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 24/06/2007 22:23

Night everyone!

I've just walked the dog with DH - and am going to go and do some star jumps in the garden - to see if that kicks things off!

Until tomorrow then............

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 22:50

Nothing from catsuitgirl...who's her text buddy?

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 22:56

good night then!!

bumperlicious · 25/06/2007 08:11

Hi all, just to let you know that we are still here, despite nearly breaking the baby a couple of times, and wanting to send her away yesterday, she is asleep at the moment, and DH is on his sleep shift! Feeding is getting better, still a bit ouchy.

We made our first visit out of the house yesterday (well apart from our dash on saturday to a&e when DD kept turning blue!) Popped to waitrose then went for a bit of a walk - only one adoring glance though - what's wrong with these people - she's beautiful!

Btw, Foxy, I know you are desperate for details, I'm afraid I'm going to be the only coy one and not post her name, but I have sent you an email with pics!

Labour vibes to you all!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 25/06/2007 08:25

Mornin

Mornin Bumper! I did send you an email the other day so you could sent some photo's - but I just thought - I didn't put on it that it was from me ... DKMA! Bet you thought it was from some random wierdo?!!

Fab that you had a trip out yesterday
Really sorry you had such a mare with LO turning blue tho - must have sh*t yourself!!
