kinki - so nice to hear your day was good and i hope it is a permanent change?!

fio - just to echo everyone please tell us more about falling down the stairs and that you and lo are ok.

No GTT with either pregnancy for me - never been mentioned?

Chattyhan · 29/06/2007 22:15

kinki i agree about letting DP's read your posts it really helped DP see the other side of the picture when he was thinking of leaving!

kinki · 29/06/2007 22:30

chatty and plp. I don't think he's been talking to his workmates (wish he would) but he did go to his mum's this morning.

MrsMar · 29/06/2007 22:39

Crikey Kinki, it gets better!

News24 newsroom is real. I presume that's the one you are talking about. I work downstairs on BBC1 bulletins (that background is a projected image I'm afraid) and to my shame I don't go up there often, but the News24 studio is in the middle of the newsroom, with a frosted glass screen set behind the presenters, so the people you see milling around are indeed proper staff, doing some work (of course all that tapping away on the computer they could be ordering their weekly shop! of course not! They're dedicated people working very hard!!)

MrsMar · 29/06/2007 22:40

Oh and if you saw the current size of my bosom you would know how right you are with the Les Dawson comparisons, what with that and constantly pulling up badly fitting mat jeans !!

PurpleLostPrincess · 29/06/2007 22:40

Aaaahhh, that'll be it! His mum must have had a little word in his shell-like. That in addition to reading your posts has obviously done the trick! I'm so pleased for you!! xx

PurpleLostPrincess · 29/06/2007 22:43

MrsMar - me too!! I went straight to mothercare this morning to buy some mat jeans and tried on about 7 different pairs (no exageration!). I ended up choosing a pair for £20 and was pleased with my purchse. However, I spent the rest of the day tugging them up around me, they're such a pain!! I can't take them back now because I've worn them outside and it was raining so the bottoms got a bit wet

I just wanted something to wear on a wet day because I've only got summer stuff and I can't wear trainers with any of it! Grrr

MrsFish · 29/06/2007 22:47

I bought some jeans from mothercare in the week, fitted fab in the shop and I actually felt really good for the first time in ages... second day of wearing them they had stretched so much I looked like a sack of potatoes... so looks like I am going to have to wash them each time I wear them I feel loathe to go and buy a smaller pair just to cater for this.

Same with my Next jeans, fit on the legs but are huge around the wait (well under the bump) need to wear a belt with them still otherwise I look like one of those gangsta's

MrsMar · 29/06/2007 22:47

I realised I'd spent the entire time I was in a supermarket the other day pulling them up in a really unladylike fashion (ie from the top, like pulling up tights, exposing huge chunk of bump in the process !)

So embarrassing, but hey! I'm pregnant! Who cares? hehehee!

PurpleLostPrincess · 29/06/2007 22:48

I've just been looking at bump bands and have put a bid in on a couple on ebay (not prepared to pay £18!!!). Do you think that will help? Anybody else use them? Also, I can't seem to find any XL ones (like I said, I'm a big girl!).

MrsMar · 29/06/2007 22:49

Mrsfish, I've been doing that, washing me jeans on a really hot wash to shrink them back each time, but the nice inky/vintage colouring has completely washed out now, leaving them looking suspicously like a pair of 80s acid washed nightmares!

PurpleLostPrincess · 29/06/2007 22:52

Maybe I should wash these ones too!? I was hoping to sell them on ebay once I'd finished with them but thats not looking so likely now lol!

MrsMar · 29/06/2007 22:53

Righto, I'm making an executive decision, I'm going to leave work, everything's done, nothing more I can do... gonna rest my poor head! Night night everyone, take care, sweet dreams x

kinki · 29/06/2007 22:55

MrsM, the next time you're in, if you could just go up to the news 24 office and hold up a banner in the window saying 'hello kinki', I'd be grateful. I am a fan you know.

MrsFish · 29/06/2007 22:55

Night night, will be retiring to bed soon myself. DH is still out, think I may sleep in the spare room so he doesn't wake me up in that manly way of being quiet when drunk when he gets in...ie, noisier than ever

kinki · 29/06/2007 22:56

Noooo, don't go, do my banner now!

PurpleLostPrincess · 29/06/2007 22:58

LOL!

Night nite everybody, take care and have a good weekend!

FilBrit · 30/06/2007 17:35

Hi everyone

Kinki - so glad things are better with you, I feel awful I didn't send you any messages of support, but I've only just read all your messages now...

Trinity - I hope things are better for you

Fio - are you ok after your tumble down the stairs?

BTW is anyone else having a nightmare with clothes in this weather? All my maternity gear is summer stuff which isn't great in this weather! I've been wearing little cardies to keep warm which just make my boobs look a million times bigger and they're already huuuuge!

As for weight gain I'm too scared to weigh myself, not sure i could deal with the results (denial is a beautiful thing!), although the gestatinal diabetes thing is really helping, althoguth there are only so many carrot sticks a girl can eat and I really really really really want some chocolate.

I've been really busy since I finished work packing as our big move is on Wednesday, which is looming very close already. Bit worried as I can't fit all the things I want into the suitcase, but can't decide what to leave behind...

hope you're all haivng lovely (abeit damp!) weekends

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 18:48

I know what you mean about the weather and clothes... I'm not really complaining about the weather as I would rather be like this than roasting hot in a heatwave, but all my trousers/tops are strappy and linen, with my flip flops I look a bit silly going out with a rain mac on with them

kinki · 30/06/2007 20:20

FilB, thank you. Good luck with your packing. What a daunting task. Meant to ask before, have you got somewhere already lined up to live (as opposed to hotel etc), if so, have you seen it, or will it be a big surprise? And how's dd taking all the excitement? You must be manic right now with everything, not sure I'd have the energy to be honest! And did you have the other gttest? Or have you got that looming over you in the next few days too? I hope it went/goes well.

kinki · 30/06/2007 20:47

Gee Fio, that was quite a tumble to hurt your back, knee and foot. Wishing you a speedy recovery. So glad the baby is ok.

Chattyhan · 30/06/2007 21:30

Fio glad lo is ok and i hope the rest of you heals quickly - i can't see my feet anymore let alone the steps so i'm taking extra care on the stairs - do keep tripping over DS though

Filbrit - good luck with the move i'm sure this week will be hectic for you but so exciting

agree about the clothing issue i've only got a few pairs of trousers and ended up at a fete today in the pouring rain in cream combats! not only were the bottoms soaked and muddy but i had muddy prints all over my legs from DS and his wellies!!!!

FilBrit · 30/06/2007 22:35

Fio - glad you and the baby are ok

Kinki - yes house is all sorted for us to live in, as we're lucky enough to have one out there. Bit worried about flying now after the events of today, but I'm sure airport security will be really tight
