Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

Rose68 · 10/11/2018 17:38

@edidxb did they tell you how big your Fetal pole is?

Rose68 · 10/11/2018 17:41

Thank you @Belmo that is lovely to hear.

TwinkleDay · 10/11/2018 18:04

@frazzlerock thinking of you today don’t get too upset like the other guys say your still very much pregnant !!! Woop!! Do you mind me asking when you ovulation date was? As according to the chart I’m first on the list, and other than being really tired, waking up early with bowel movement and perky larger boobs I’ve been very lucky to be pretty much no diffrent with a few odd days of nausea and not been sick ... yet. ... 🤨

Frazzlerock · 10/11/2018 18:58

Thank you for all the reassurance. I'm feeling better now. It was just unexpected. I stupidly assumed I'd come away with a heartbeat or no viable pregnancy but feel a bit in limbo land.
But I do feel much better after reading your advice and thoughts so thank you,

@TwinkleDay Ovusense predicted my ovulation for 6th October but I guess that's wrong now. If I go from ovulation my EDD should technically be 26th June.
From LMP EDD should be 30th June
Scan EDD 3rd July Confused

Frazzlerock · 10/11/2018 19:00

Oh and at least I can breath a sigh of relief that I won't be carrying this thread's twins 😉 And also Popsy is in the correct place 👌🏼

Laburna · 10/11/2018 19:20

It's not to do with ovulation specifically though, is it? You could ovulate on the 6th but it not be fertilised until the 8th or 9th or 10th? Even if you don't DTD on those days, daddy's little swimmer could have been going in circles for a few days 😂 you know what I mean? Google says that while super speedy swimmers may only take 30 minutes slower ones can take several days.

Frazzlerock · 10/11/2018 19:36

Ha, I like that explanation @Laburna 😂

Frazzlerock · 10/11/2018 19:42

But I was under the impression that once ovulation has occurred you only have 24 hours to fertilise it? But in my case it would be several days later (in fact 7 days later). Ahh it's all so confusing and what does it matter anyway. I'm over thinking it!

Laburna · 10/11/2018 19:50

It's a really tricky area, because even with the best will in the world and all the testing and temperature taking and DTD at the 'right time' we never actually know for sure the timescales of whats going on. All we can go on is averages and prior experience, but we are older this time and it's obviously more work now than it was, and averages are just that, averages, there will be people who go much quicker and others who go much slower.

Realistically it's no surprise that there is a discrepancy in the dates we have and the dates the baby shows!

Laburna · 10/11/2018 19:56

You are definitely overthinking it, and it's understandable because of prior history. If you'd gone to your 12 week scan and they said actually, you EDD is 4 days later than you thought, it would be completely different and you'd have not thought anything about it. Or at least not like you are doing now.

Frazzlerock · 10/11/2018 20:11

Very true!

TwinkleDay · 10/11/2018 20:14

Ah I see we were only properly trying this time and used a clear blue ovulation prediction kit so clearly they work which is amazing and got another 11 piss sticks left for another go :)

Beckanne90 · 10/11/2018 20:28

Yes once the egg is released it averagely has between 12-24hour to be fertilised. However, everything is based on averages and I think even implantation can affect what the dating is put at. But I’m betting by time the 12 week scan comes round your dates will change again because they are just so small at this stage.

I’ve been complaining last couple of days about lack of symptoms then this evening I’ve been sick, I now still feel sick and I feel so exhausted. Ha! Serves me right

StargazyDrifter · 10/11/2018 20:32

Sorry you've had a tough time with early scans, Frazzle, edidxb and Rose68. It's such an imprecise science and, to add to Laburna's points, I think there can also be discrepancy in how long a fertilised egg can take to travel down the tube and implant, at which point it starts growing much faster. None of that helps with the raw emotion, but one step at a time and it'll be the next chapter before you know it! Sending you all hugs.

Really struggled catching up with friends today, lovely to see them, but just SO tired it's hard to keep the energy up, even with sugary drinks. I now feel like I'm on a bit of a sugar crash. Cheesy pasta and bed for me.

pancakes22 · 10/11/2018 20:52

This is weird and I may be going insane but I'm sure I just felt a little flutter inside!

(Or perhaps it was just the double helpings of lasagne I just devoured....)

StargazyDrifter · 11/11/2018 00:07

I just read on Google that each boob will, on average, increase in weight by 1.4kg during pregnancy. Ow.

BellaNutella88 · 11/11/2018 06:22

Hi all. Can I join ? I am new to MN so bare with me !

I am 30yo, married in May and TTC #1 for four months. I got my BFP yesterday and second test positive today also. EED 21 July 2019 all being well.

Think hubby and I are still in shock at the moment ! And worrying about the four Christmas parties I have next month ! Nice to meet you all xx

GiGi18 · 11/11/2018 07:31

@StargazyDrifter wow that is a lot! My boobs are hurting a lot more today which I guess is a good sign.

Also started waking up so early and not being able to go back to sleep. Feeling a bit sick this morning. Glad to have some more symptoms though!

@BellaNutella88 Welcome and congratulations. I'm 19/07 so close to you! Christmas parties are going to be hard aren't they? Everyone is going to guess with me, also recently married and asking all the time as it is. Plus I'm not usually one to refrain from a few drinks, hehe! I don't drive so don't have that excuse. We went round to a friends for dinner last night and I took a bottle of The Bees Knees non-alcoholic wine which was actually quite nice. I don't think anyone noticed but the host had a magnum open and I insisted on opening my own which might have looked odd! If you scroll back a few pages there is a smartsheet where you can add your name to the list.

Xx

FocusBear · 11/11/2018 07:51

Morning all, got my dates through from the mw/ hosp and it's all in Dec. Started to panic that the tests that I took a couple of weeks ago could have just been faulty and I was just imagining this pregnancy. So I poas this morning and got a evener strongwe bfp. Smile

As it's my first pregnancy and I'm not telling anyone have no one to talk to about what to expect or how I should change my lifestyle if at all. Literally just googling everything.

This week plan on sorting out my eating as it's been a bit terrible recently. Came back from holiday 2 weeks ago but haven't stopped holiday eating. Reining it in now before it gets out of hand. Hope everyone had a good Sunday.

babyHP · 11/11/2018 07:54

Morning all!!

So, last night was my 1st uncomfortable nights sleep! I love to lay on my front but my boobs were not having any of it, extremely tender. Does anyone else wear a supportive bra to sleep at this stage? I have to go get one today!

Added to this, at about 7pm last night I was feeling a little dizzy, almost as if I had be spun around. Was a terrible feeling that lasted a good few hours. Have read this is normal but still wasnt nice! Any tips on good remedies here?

Have a lovely day x

BellaNutella88 · 11/11/2018 08:07

Thanks @GiGi18 ! I’m using my phone at the moment so will use the laptop later as think it’ll be easier to add myself !

Yea it’s definately hard. I’m going to use driving and hangovers as excuses. ‘Was at another party last night and had too much’ which you could try ? Congrats to you also and for getting married recently ! I’m in the same boat- everyone knows we wanted kids soon and keep asking !

@FocusBear - I know what you mean I’ve tested twice already and probably will do again over the next few days. Am also trying to sort my eating. I lost lots of weight over the last few years, especially before my wedding and have put a stone back on since May so now really worried I’m already overweight before I even get going. Healthy eating time !

@babyHP I’ve just been using a sports bra as boobs are so sore. Not too sure about the dizziness though. I’ve had that once but I mostly feel sick until I eat !

All can I ask your advice on two things ? 1- when do you refer yourself to the hospital ? Do I wait a bit ? And 2- I used to exercise lots (running, classes, weights) but the last few months have been very busy and so I’ve only done the odd bit. Can I start building it back up ? Xx

FocusBear · 11/11/2018 08:13

@BellaNutella88 congrats on your bfp. Sorry missed your original post. Can't help with the exercise question. Something I'm curious about as well. I think for me I'm just going to do like exercises not intense.

When ive been on a diet plan. I always have something I am strict about. Even if it's calorie counting. Something to keep track off. But they say never diet when pregnant so confused what I should do to not keep gaining weight.

FocusBear · 11/11/2018 08:14

Also I refer myself earlier this week and got my dates yesterday. All the dates are for dec though to give you an idea of timings.

MyloC · 11/11/2018 08:15

Hi everyone hope it’s okay to mark my place!
Just got my BFP this morning after a few days of brown spotting and I am in total shock. We really thought this wasn’t our month. Currently showing as due 20/07 on my apps!

Congratulations everyone 😊

Laburna · 11/11/2018 08:21

Morning all!

Another night of getting up (twice) for snacks as I felt really sick!

@babyhp I got some soft sleep bras from Amazon. Bit like a camisole top. Had the same issue with my first and liked them so much, I didn't stop using them!

With the dizzy thing, it's completely normal, your body has to learn to cope with the baby using blood. Drinking lots of fluid will help a bit, but it'll pass eventually.

@bellanutella88 welcome!

You need to refer to the MWs at about 6 weeks ish. They'll want to see you to book you in between 6 and 10 weeks and then get you booked for your dating scan before 13+6. They will do tests on the baby via your blood and the scan if you want them to check for the risk of down syndrome, edwards, and patau (sp?) And they have to be done before 13+6.
The advice for exercise is generally to go gently in the first trimester and listen to your body. Don't start anything you've not done before. But generally yes, exercising is fine.

I'm really struggling to fit in my jeans at the moment :( it's making me a bit depressed, I don't feel like I've got enough of a bump or bloat for that to happen, so must just be because I've just eaten what I can when I can which has tended to be bad stuff :(
