Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

ratherbeshowjumping · 14/11/2018 16:29

@TwittleBee great idea 🤣🤣🤣🤣

crakpot1 · 14/11/2018 16:34

Hey everyone :)

Got my scan date today and I only referred myself yesterday, I'm impressed!

27th Dec... so I will book a private one in soon because I just can't go over Xmas, and want to tell family on Xmas day :)

@MrsC87 I had SPD in my first pregnancy and I can feel the first twinges of it coming back.. give it a google and see if it sounds like what you are experiencing, if it does ask your midwife for a ref to a physio.

Anyone else have SPD before in other pregnancies?

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 16:40

@TwittleBee we don't want to find out though :(

@Onestep2 thanks hunny x x

@ratherbeshowjumping I have no idea she hasn't said. We aren't particularly close but around each other at family gatherings etc. So so hope she doesn't have our names. Especially Eva. That's so sentimental. Also I've got a wedding next Saturday and Xmas party after that. No idea what to wear?!? Xx

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 16:41

@crakpot1 did you get one after midwife or is this the first referral? That's good!! X

ratherbeshowjumping · 14/11/2018 16:44

@Delilah7 aww know what you mean. Are you feeling bloated? I'm wearing quite a right dress on Friday but with a long coat to cover up a bit 🙈 I know I'm not but I FEEL huge. I do think family members will think I look "well" aka a bit chubbier than usual 😂 god knows what I'll wear for the Xmas party, I'll be 10 weeks exactly. What have you got planned?

ratherbeshowjumping · 14/11/2018 16:44

*tight, not right!

HchyScott · 14/11/2018 16:45

Just got back from seeing my lovely new doctor who was very thorough. Apart from having this delightful virus, he checked my tummy and he said it was all nice and soft so he’s said it’s a positive sign against ectopic. Can’t tell anything for sure without a scan which he hasn’t referred me for ( booo) but told me to leave a urine sample incase it’s an infection. I’m almost hoping it is!! Any more pain that worsens, bleeding or spotting, straight to hospital. Feeling abit relieved he couldn’t feel anything worrying so I’m going to try to relax!!

MrsC87 · 14/11/2018 16:46

Thanks @crakpot1 had a google and it's more my hip joint than pelvis. Will mention it to my midwife at my appointment next week though just in case.
With regard to scans through NHS at 12 weeks do you normally get a letter arranging it? Is it bang on 12 weeks or after normally?

crakpot1 · 14/11/2018 16:47

@Delilah7 I saw the midwife yesterday and she gave me a link to a hospital website to refer myself, filled out a few details and they called me this Morning to book my booking in app and scan :)

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 16:49

@ratherbeshowjumping same as me. I'm quite small on my tummy so any bloat shows unfortunately!! We are going on a dinner date for everyone and then pub crawl which I am going to skip 😂 I don't have any motivation to do anything and I'll only be 9 weeks at the party! 😂

@MrsC87 that's what I was wondering after @crakpot1 post! I've only got a midwife appointment atm x

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 16:49

@crakpot1 oh how exciting!!!! 😍😍😍

I have a scan tomorrow so so so nervous guys :( any advice??

TwittleBee · 14/11/2018 16:51

HchyScott oh brilliant news though if he does think all is good? Is a shame he didnt refer for a scan though!

ARGH! Work bloody knows! FFS, Midwife phoned me and I STUPIDLY had her number saved on my phone as "Midwife" and my colleague saw! So I dashed out and answered, thought no one was about only for another colleague to actually be within hearing bloody distance!!! Idk what to do now? Should I tell my Directors? We are such a close knit team, only 8 of us here in total!

ratherbeshowjumping · 14/11/2018 16:54

@delilah7 same, I'm only a size 6 but can't really wear baggy type dresses as I'm so short.
I don't blame you for skipping the pub crawl... I stupidly agreed to drive one of my friends on Saturday night, she does know I'm pg and feeling crap but hoping she doesn't put me in an awkward situation about going for "just one drink" after dinner when I know all I'll be dreaming of is bed!

With you there @MrsC87 - how far are you @crakpot1 ?

We are in Cornwall and I think the midwifery service is quite bad down here. I've not had anything for a scan through yet and will be 12 weeks on 21st Dec. Hope they don't let me go over Christmas without one :(

crakpot1 · 14/11/2018 16:54

@MrsC87 glad it doesn't sound like it :) it's not very nice.

I think 12 week scan can be anywhere between 11 and 14 weeks, but it might differ from where you live.

Is everyone having the extra screening for downs, Edwards and patau's? She asked when she was booking my scan today and I've not had chance to read through all the leaflets I got from the midwife yet, so I just said yes and thought I can always change my mind.
They only tested for downs in my last pregnancy I think.

TwittleBee · 14/11/2018 16:56

MrsC87 anytime between 8 - 14 weeks! Mine is on the 27th Dec at 11weeks +5

ratherbeshowjumping · 14/11/2018 16:57

@MrsC87 and @TwittleBee - do they tend to go early, or later do you know? I might even try and call the hospital tomorrow and see if I can self refer for a scan.

MrsC87 · 14/11/2018 16:59

Yes I'd like it to be earlier than 12 as it's before Xmas for me then 😊 @ratherbeshowjumping @TwittleBee

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 16:59

@TwittleBee maybe tell the directors... if you're comfortable doing that xx

@ratherbeshowjumping I'm so tired these days too and it's great ( as I feel its better this time than last pregnancy ) but it's hard xx

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 17:00

@MrsC87 @ratherbeshowjumping @TwittleBee I'd like that! I'm 12 weeks on Xmas day so I hope they get me in earlier!!!

crakpot1 · 14/11/2018 17:04

@ratherbeshowjumping I'll be 7 weeks on Saturday, I live in greater Manchester and I had 3 hospitals to choose from, I think there is no harm in calling the hospital to self refer for a scan, they can only say no.

crakpot1 · 14/11/2018 17:05

They just go off next available date so I think it depends how busy they are.

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 17:06

Is a pinching feeling normal to? 😂😂😂

Rose68 · 14/11/2018 17:52

@crakpot1 your midwife might have been referring to the harmony test which is usually done privately for about £400 - £500.

I have done nothing about midwives or 12 week scans yet... should I have done?

ratherbeshowjumping · 14/11/2018 18:00

@crakpot1 lucky you! I'm in Cornwall and we just have the one here... I gave them a call and they said I will get a letter through after my booking appt. I've decided that if it is after Christmas, I will go and get a scan done privately a few days before I'm "offically" 12 weeks.

crakpot1 · 14/11/2018 18:12

@Rose68 I don't think so, it's a blood test and the measurement of the back of the neck definitely on the NHS, then they give you a score taking into account your age and tell you if your low or high risk.. if high you can have another test where they test the fluid. :)
