Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

@TwittleBee do you mean the antenatal ones? If so then no they aren't. My midwife recommended a local one to me that's national lottery funded so free to all local mums from 12 weeks onwards. There might be something similar in your area

Frazzlerock · 13/11/2018 10:36

Morning (again) I am back from my booking in appointment. IT took nearly 1.5 hours!
The midwife was very nice and I feel weirdly chilled about things right now. She clearly has a very calming effect and put my mind at rest with all my worries. She has put on my notes that I am anxious and had previous losses and has given me a number to call if I have any bleeding.
I got my pack of stuff including the awful Bounty pack which is always packed full of crap, although this time there is not much in it. The only thing that will come in useful are a sample pack of Pregnacare and a pen.

Next appointment isn't until January which seems ages away! but she said i can call at any time and see them if I need to.

For anyone new to this, they basically ask you everything about yourself and your medical history and your partners medical history too (thankfully he was with me). She did my weight and height (all spot on), BP (spot on), took urine sample and also a blood sample for infectious diseases. Be warned the urine sample pot is a thin tube and near on impossible to wee into!

I asked her about symptoms coming and going and she said it's perfectly normal. I also said my symptoms are very subtle apart from raging thirst and she said some women don't get any symptoms so she thinks I've got off lightly rather than anything to worry about.

So we have @TwittleBee with her scan in 25 mins! and @kincat tomorrow! Then @DianaBlythe on Friday right? Exciting times!

MrsC87 · 13/11/2018 10:41

Same @BettySwoll0cks I'm too impatient to wait especially with it being Xmas!

Frazzlerock · 13/11/2018 10:43

@BettySwoll0cks that is a long time to wait for booking in! Have you asked why so late?

babyHP · 13/11/2018 10:51

Morning ladies!!

Congrats and I am so pleased you had a great appointment this morning - makes me very excited for mine @frazzlerock.

I sent off my MW referral last week and I havent heard anything yet, shall I wait or give them a call? (Impatient Sally here) hahaha

Frazzlerock · 13/11/2018 10:59

Wouldn't hurt to call them @babyHP See what they say

Frazzlerock · 13/11/2018 11:04

Oh I meant to add about dating the pregnancy. The midwife said it can change so much, sometimes as much as two weeks! So she has kept me at my original EDD (LMP) for my notes. So I am still none the wiser whether I am currently 6+6 today or 7+3 Confused

TwittleBee · 13/11/2018 11:06

Okay so had a scan, all is good! Saw the sack and yolk and measuring at 5+3 so EDD now the 13th July. Going back in 10 days time to see heartbeat hopefully. (Also only 1 in there!)

Frazzlerock · 13/11/2018 11:13

Great news @TwittleBee!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 13/11/2018 11:18

Great news @TwittleBee glad all is looking ok

@Frazzlerock I thought the same about the bounty pack not half as much stuff as last time!

Rose68 · 13/11/2018 11:27

Great news @Twittlebee!

I would be very careful of slimming world, it is very restrictive and for most people not sustainable. I have done it and always put the weight back on, thankfully I haven’t put more on, probably because I am a runner. But I think most put the weight back on plus more and each time they do it they end up heavier. It’s much better to make some permanent healthy changes to diet and lifestyle. xxxx

Winona1 · 13/11/2018 11:40

Hello 😊 mind if I join? Just got my BFP this morning. I’m 24 it’s my first baby. Scared! Haven’t even told partner yet.... EDD 18/7/19

1sttimeunicorn · 13/11/2018 11:43

Hi everyone hope it's ok to join. I am 5+5 (or meant to be) with DC2. I had recurrent miscarriages before I had my DS (now 18 months), so I am very anxious. I have a scan when I will be 6+5.
I think I get jealous of people who don't question what is going on in their body prior to that 12 week scan. I just wish I could battle through the symptoms and get my head down until then, but I need to know if my body has developed anything this time. If nothing has developed I will be booked in for surgery to remove the pregnancy, due to complications with all my losses.
It's just all very high stakes. I can't stop worrying about being put to sleep during the surgery and never seeing my son again. Gosh I know that sounds very morbid. I almost feel guilty that I'm here again because of the risks.

TwittleBee · 13/11/2018 12:04

Thanks everyone! Interesting the lady doing my scan explained the bleeding was most likely implantation bleeding as that can happen anytime between the start of implantation to around 6 weeks! Crazy. She said it's where they get all secure.

Hi Frazzle so agree about the bounty packs! Load of crap. Glad your MW was very thorough and she sounds reassuring too!

Welcome Winona1 and 1sttimeunicorn there is a Google Doc link somewhere in this thread (2nd page I think) where you can add yourselves in! Congrats and good luck

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 12:11

@TwittleBee great news hun! Xx

MrsC87 · 13/11/2018 12:18

I still can't update that google doc 🤦‍♀️ @TwittleBee.
So pleased it went well this morning 💕

MrsC87 · 13/11/2018 12:19

How are you feeling @Delilah7? xx

Belmo · 13/11/2018 12:24

Glad it went well @TwittleBee and hooray, two coffees!!

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 12:26

@MrsC87 ok. Feeling better now I know my levels but I have nothing to compare them too I never got that far to have them done last time and have to wait till next Tuesday to get results again as I'm having them done Friday. How're you?? Xx

BettySwoll0cks · 13/11/2018 12:28

Great news @TwittleBee!!

I'm really not sure why it's such a long wait for my appt but you're meant to have it before 10wks, so I am just squeezing in by 2 days! It doesn't matter. I know all the staff at my EPU by name now anyway so if I have any real worries I'll just phone them.

BettySwoll0cks · 13/11/2018 12:31

Btw does anyone have a discount code for BabyBond scans or Ultrasound Direct?

MrsC87 · 13/11/2018 12:33

Yeh I'm okay thanks, feel nauseous and very tired, don't want to be at work. Although I've never experienced a MC before I do feel anxious like yourself about it all going well. Think that's why I also want an early scan @Delilah7
It's good about your levels and sounds like they are going to monitor these which is a positive thing. Thank god we have this feed to chat about our worries! xx

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 12:35

@BettySwoll0cks nope but you can pay £30 deposit now and rest on the day :)

@MrsC87 tell me about it otherwise I'd lose my marbles!! I think pregnancy in first trimester is hard whether you've had a MC or not so I get that completely. Early scan in two days woooo xx

BettySwoll0cks · 13/11/2018 12:37

That's true, Delilah.

SnailorSwift · 13/11/2018 12:48
