Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

Anyone around 23-24 having first baby?

amanda2809 · 13/11/2018 13:04

Re: weight loss, Slimming World is the only "programme" approved by the Royal College of Midwives. When I was pregnant with my osn I'd not long joined, and kept going throughout pregnancy (with my mw support and approval). I'm very overweight though. My weight fluctuated throughout the pregnancy, but I found the 'plan' helped me to eat well. The week before DS was born, I'd only gained 1lb from when I got my BFP! Then three weeks after I weighed in with a 19lb loss :)

I've already joined again (told the consultant I'm pg), lost 1lb last week but this week will definitely be a gain! The harest bit will be in group putting on a front to the other members that I'm ok with a small loss/maintain/gain, until after the scan and I'll go public!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 13/11/2018 13:19

@amanda2809 that's amazing! I'm aiming to do something similar this pregnancy so that's a really inspiring story

@1sttimeunicorn keeping everything crossed that it's a successful pregnancy for you.x

MrsC87 · 13/11/2018 13:25

Just booked my early scan @Delilah7 @TwittleBee will be 9 weeks on 16th Dec!

Onestep2 · 13/11/2018 13:32

@amanda2809 that is absolutly amazing!!! Well done! I'm planning on doing the same throughout pregnancy as well as keep up my exercise! I lost a lot of weight for my wedding and don't want to put it all back on!

Had first appointment with midwife this morn who went over all what to expect etc and chose my hospital for having baby. She booked me in for booking appointment on 3rd December and said the hospital will be in touch with date for 12 week scan... I'm 12 weeks on 22nd December so fingers crossed it's before Christmas thou MW couldn't promise anything 😊 she also done my height and weight and I discussed the healthy eating/diet i am following and the level of exercise I do and she encouraged me to keep it up as long as I can. 😊

Fab news on scans ladies! Think if my date is after Christmas I will go for a private one so that we can tell people at Christmas! X

FocusBear · 13/11/2018 13:33

Great news on the scans today Twittlebee :)

I just want to say I'm like Gigi I've come off from a 1200kcal diet just before my holiday and regained 1.5st. I definitely need to do something as I'm still 5+ st too heavy for my height. That's not good for the baby or me either. Will check out slimming world.

Kentishgal · 13/11/2018 13:34

Hello, can I join in - according to app I am 5+3 - although I think I ovulated later than my app is saying so maybe a bit less. Got my BFP last week.

FocusBear · 13/11/2018 13:35

@amanda2809 that's great to hear your achievement. I would love it if that happened to me :)

Frazzlerock · 13/11/2018 13:37

@Winona1 sorry I am old (40 next year Shock), pretty sure there are some younguns here though

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 13:44

@Winona1 me I'm 23! X

amanda2809 · 13/11/2018 13:46

Thanks all. I didn't set out to do that well but now I'm second time round I see it as a challenge!! What helped last time was my appetite just disappeared plus heartburn! I still ate but just tried hard to choose good stuff. Husband used to force me to eat my veg before anything else at dinner as I'd be full halfway through!

I'm a "middle aged" mum - just turned 33 😊

BettySwoll0cks · 13/11/2018 13:47

Don't worry Frazzlerock you're not the only one knocking on the door of 40!!

Is anyone else still peeing on sticks like a lunatic?! I've done a One Step every day since I got my bfp, if jnow it's completely pointless but I get a little kick out of seeing that line Blush

itsallgreek · 13/11/2018 13:48

@TwittleBee congrats on a good scan... Can't wait for my second one tomorrow 😊 I've seen my beans sack but not the fetal pole or heartbeat yet.. We'll see tomorrow what we news to doc gives us

Winona1 · 13/11/2018 13:50

Hi @Delilah7 when are you due?

Nervous to tell my partner when he’s home from work, he will be over the moon! anyone have any ideas of how I should do it?

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 13:52

@Winona1 two days before my birthday! 9th July x

MrsC87 · 13/11/2018 13:54

I'm 31 Smile

Laburna · 13/11/2018 13:58

@BettySwoll0cks day 2 of not poas 😟😔 I have to accept it at some point, 7 weeks seemed a good time, though I may relent if my symptoms disappear 😂

KinCat · 13/11/2018 13:59

Congrats on the scan TwittleBee and glad you're feeling less anxious Frazzle. I wish my scan/appointment was tomorrow but it's 14 December so still a month to wait!

BettySwoll0cks me! Although I'll have to stop now as I just finished off my bag of ICs and DH would definitely think I was a bit weird if I bought more. I tried to buy a CB digital today to see if it had gone up to 3+ weeks this weekend but managed to buy a CB easy instead. Duh.

Onestep2 · 13/11/2018 14:47

@amanda2809 totally get where your coming from! it will be a challenge for me as well but if helps keep me and baby healthy and happy then its worth it! ive actually had a decrease in appetite over last few days, like thought of food doesnt make me feel sick but just doesnt do it for me, if that makes sense?l I also suffer from THE WORST heartburn without pregnancy so am fucked in later weeks!!

@MrsC87 im 31 too, will be 32 by time baby is here though!

ratherbeshowjumping · 13/11/2018 15:00

Just caught up...

@frazzlerock I'm so pleased that your appt went well and really happy that it's settled your nerves slightly too.

Congrats on the scan @TwittleBee how exciting! So pleased all is ok.

Hi to the newbies - @winona1 I'm 25 :)

Really struggling today - I am struggling to keep my eyes open! I know I shouldn't moan and this time next year, with a 4 month old, I will likely be even more tired, but honestly can't even think straight where I'm so shattered.

Kentishgal · 13/11/2018 15:03

Did you go to the doctors when you found out you were pregnant or just contact the midwives directly?

I recall going to the doctors with my first and she just said something along the lines of "Congratulations - what do you want me to do?". I hadn't really thought about it - I guess I expected her to do another test or something! (I have a nice new doctor now so I'm sure they'd be far nicer if I did go!)

p.s I'm 35!

HchyScott · 13/11/2018 15:04

Afternoon all, lovely to catch up with lots of good news today, really happy for you ladies Smile.
I have woken up with an awful bug (I think) mouth feels like it’s been burned, achy ant generally feeling awful. Been to the pharmacy and I can even have the mouth numbing sweets, I nearly cried! So pjs crap telly and the duvet it is for me, thank god I finished work at lunchtime. DH is worrying about the effect on little bean, I’m gueesing there’s no need to ring drs or MW unless I get a fever?

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 15:11

@Kentishgal I phoned them up and you have to go get a midwife pack! That's what mine do anyways xx

MrsC87 · 13/11/2018 15:18

Snap @Onestep2, Birthday in May 😊

cathyj87 · 13/11/2018 15:40

Same @Onestep2 and @MrsC87, I'll be 32 in April :)
