Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

Hi everyone,
It’s reassuring to know there are so many of you out there in a similar situation! This first 12 weeks is torture. This will be my first and, according to the calculators, I should be due on the 5th July. Already had one MC at 5wks. Doctor’s receptionist seemed rather apathetic. Told me not to bother them till I was 6 wks. When I called at 6 wks they told me they could only fit me in for 10 mins this Thursday to confirm I’d tested properly (like I’m incapable of peeing on a stick and reading the word pregnant)!! I’m hoping the actual doctor may be more compassionate and provide better information as to next steps.
Good luck to you all xx

ratherbeshowjumping · 12/11/2018 17:29

Thanks for the article @Frazzlerock - was really interesting to read. I realise how lucky we were being able to see the heartbeat yesterday at 6+2.

I've just actually lost the plot and ordered two pairs of fairly unisex gorgeous leggings from Jojo Maman Bebe 🙈🙈

Laburna · 12/11/2018 17:37

Wow @buggles1 that sounds like a fun appointment, can they really have had so many people turn out to be not pregnant that they have to double check?!

@ratherbeshowjumping I've ordered two pairs of stretchy waist jeans from ASOS this morning. I put my skinny jeans on to walk the dog and looked like I had two tummy's 😯 not pretty!

MrsC87 · 12/11/2018 18:08

Thanks @Laburna & @RooKangaroo for the reassurance. Saying that I am absolutely knackered tonight! Early night!
Fab @MyloC, what date did you get for your scan? I've only been given my Midwife appointment which is 23rd Nov. Desperate to know if scan will be before Xmas or in January!

MrsC87 · 12/11/2018 18:13

What are you ladies doing diet wise? I eat pretty healthily anyway but want to eat loads of savoury junk food! Gone right off sugar.

MyloC · 12/11/2018 18:21

@MrsC87 I’m not until 19th dec for 1st appt and 11th January for scan! Let me know how your 1st appt goes. I’m in Scotland I don’t know if it’s all the same process throughout UK?
Diet wise I’ve been awful because I’m constantly wanting to eat rubbish! Hopefully reign it back in soon Blush

MrsC87 · 12/11/2018 18:35

@MyloC ah that's great. No idea what the procedure is in uk lol! Will see what happens at first midwife appointment. So are you telling family before Xmas?

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 18:41

Sorry I've been abit self absorbed.

How's everyone else feeling ? So I'm 6 weeks tomorrow! I never got this far before so I'm happy and still abit anxious. Boobs are insanely sore and on my sternum! Back is occasionally twinging too. The occasional cramps but not many. Nausea in mornings and major bloating when I eat. 😂

thedust · 12/11/2018 18:55

God I've been SO tired today! I need to get some decaf tea too, I drink green tea so I can have 4 cups but that's still not enough. Submitted my self-referral online to the midwives but not heard anything back, think I'll ring tomorrow. Boobs are really sore when I take my bra off in the evening, tempted to get a soft sleeping bra or something.

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 19:09

@thedust it took two or three days before I got my email through Hun. I feel you about the boobs. Get a soft sports bra I used Calvin Klein one. It defo helps! I'm gonna have to give up bloody underwired as its already hurting!

Onestep2 · 12/11/2018 19:19

@thedust I'm still on the sore boobie bandwagon.

And the constant need to pee!

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 19:23

@Onestep2 oh my god me too. To the point my tummy hurts if I don't go in time 😂😂

Laburna · 12/11/2018 19:23

I've been so exhausted as well. It's one of the first days that I've really not coped with DS and he's the most easy going kid ever. Poor boy :(

I've got serious digestive problems too. I think it's been caused my the cyclogest, anyone else having issues? I might have to ask the MW about that one!

Serious boob pain on the left too, still none on the right 🤔 so strange!

I recommend the Twinnings Decaf @thedust I can't tell the difference to be honest. Though I don't drink it a huge amount, toddlers mostly mean cold/luke-warm tea 🤢

Onestep2 · 12/11/2018 19:29

@delilah7 honestly I was up 5 times last night for a pee. Soooo infuriating!

Needless to say when alarm went off for work I was less than impressed. So tired today 😴😴

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 19:37

@Onestep2 mines normally throughout the day. I go pee sit down do work for 5 mins and I need to pee again 😂😂

Onestep2 · 12/11/2018 19:42

@delilah7 I don't mind so much during working hours...... any excuse not to do work 😂😂

Is everyone still incredibly thirsty all the time?

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 19:47

@Onestep2 yep!!

babyHP · 12/11/2018 19:51

Hi everyone!
Thanks for the comments - hubby and I are finally on honeymoon listening to the waves crashing on the shore.

@frazzlerock @laburna @ratherbeshowjumping I am not sure why she feels that way, she said its much more invasive than we should allow at such early stages. To be honest, I was questioning whether I wanted anything going inside, at this stage. She doesnt mean it in a harmful way, this baby is an angel to both of our families, so I am sure she is just being cautious.
I may do the ultrasound but refuse the transvaginal, just for my own mind. Not to say theres anything wrong with it at all. Also, I think there is some truth in that she hasnt moved with the times! Haha.

@allthegoodnamesalreadytaken - thanks for that! So, would you advise against an ultrasound or transvaginal probe? Or both?

Hope everyones had a lovely day!

cathyj87 · 12/11/2018 20:11

I thought my boobs hadn't been sore but the cat just pushed up against them and I scared the bejesus out of her by screaming. Holy cow that was sore! I'm taking it as a yay moment though as I feel like I've had no symptoms which has been freaking me out

TwittleBee · 12/11/2018 20:16

Talking about symptoms... I'm now freaking out because mine have all gone... it's just dawned on me that I haven't been sick today, my boobs aren't aching and I don't feel tired despite being up at 4.30am? So worried they will tell me I'm not pregnant tomorrow

BettySwoll0cks · 12/11/2018 20:28

I think the symptoms fluctuate TwittleBee. I was getting downhearted on Saturday thinking my symptoms were drying up too, but then they were back with a vengeance on Sunday. It's the only time I welcome feeling like I've been hit with a sledgehammer!

TwittleBee · 12/11/2018 20:29

Thank you BettySwoll0cks I just don't remember ever feeling this normal when pregnant with DS! I'll try to remain positive

Barker26 · 12/11/2018 21:01

Hi guys I've been a bit awol ! Good to see so many of us ! Feeling lucky I have zero sickness as of yet just sore boobs and major tiredness ! Have early scan booked for next Wednesday I should be 8+1 then! Time seems to be dragging though Sad i can't concentrate at all at work and just spend my days wishing the whole day away because I just want to be 12 weeks now!! Hope everyone is keeping well im going to have a good catchup on the thread !

StargazyDrifter · 12/11/2018 21:21

I had to go to a smart function for work tonight. Enjoyed getting a tiny bit more dressed up than usual and it all gave me a little boost of energy somehow. But boy did I pay for it on the way back. Feeling sicky and sore and wondering how I will ever do anything demanding from now on. Roll on 12 weeks!

Belmo · 12/11/2018 21:23

Today is the first day I’ve felt the Tiredness- had a nap with the toddler and still felt so exhausted. Really could be doing with more than one coffee!
Also one sore boob and digestive issues.. not so sicky today though.

Good luck tomorrow @TwittleBee Smile
