Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

Well I’ve hit 6 weeks (according to apps) and ... Ugh.. I feel awful today, like a bad hangover. DH made bacon sandwiches for breakfast as that’s a normal hangover cure but it didn’t quite work the same haha!
Going to my best friends for a roast today, really just want to stay in my pjs but equally excited to see her as we are going to tell her our news and I’m pretty sure she might have her own news too!

Delilah7 · 11/11/2018 11:25

@Frazzlerock I'm just having a little cry to myself. Hormones are everywhere and don't wanna get my hopes up. When did it say you ovulated? X

Toria73 · 11/11/2018 11:29

@Frazzlerock & @Rose68, thanks for replying. If it doesn't ease off throughout the day I'll call the clinic.
If it's not meant to be, there's nothing they can do. Will take it easy today, might take myself off to the cinema & distract myself for a few hours as it's hard to switch brain off & not notice every single twinge/cramp.

Frazzlerock · 11/11/2018 11:36

@Delilah7 Ovusense predicted ovulation on 6th October. But according to the scan we would have conceived a few days later (which I didn't think was possible)
Ovulation was very obvious as my temp went shooting up and stayed high with the odd slight dip here and there, but still way above my cover line. So I know I ovulated on that date.
My sonographer was dubious as it would mean I ovulated on CD14 and I have PCOS so he was like Hmm and said not to trust it as I could have had a slight fever or something at the time. I can safely say I was not I'll whatsoever so I'm not sure what he was on about, anyway I'll find out for sure at the 12 weeker on 20th Dec (if we get that far of course)

Frazzlerock · 11/11/2018 11:37

Also, go ahead have cry, you'll feel much better afterwards x

Frazzlerock · 11/11/2018 11:37

@Toria73 I understand your worries. Keeping yourself busy is a good idea. What will you see?

Delilah7 · 11/11/2018 11:48

@Frazzlerock this journey is so difficult and confusing. I feel I'm wishing the weeks away just so I can get to 12 weeks and not have 100% anxiety all the time x x

Frazzlerock · 11/11/2018 11:57

@Delilah7 I'm doing the same. I think that's why I was so upset about being told I'm behind in my dates as I just desperately want to get to 12 weeks. Not that it means we're out of danger but the risks reduce statistically at least.

In the 2.5 years (following our losses) that DP refused to try again I became immersed in the babyloss world as it was the only way I could direct my devastation and hurt. I met so many people and read so many stories that I feel I know too much and that really worries me in this pregnancy. I thought it was good to be educated on everything but now I find it a hindrance and is causing me far too much anxiety. I honestly do not think I'll rest until our baby is here in my arms and safe at home.

Delilah7 · 11/11/2018 12:14

@Frazzlerock same as me. I don't think I'll believe it's real until they're here...I'm just concerned as if I'm less than I thought I was they won't be able to scan me as I'll be less than 6 weeks :(

Rose68 · 11/11/2018 12:15

@Frazzlerock I agree! I was so blissfully unaware in my first pregnancy, I had no idea what could go wrong. It didn’t even occur to me to try and get a scan before 12 weeks. He is now 9. I wish I could go back to that!

However... today my boobs are a bit sore and I still have some nausea and lightheadedness, and my spotting has stopped... so that has to be a good sign doesn’t it?

Toria73 · 11/11/2018 12:24

@Frazzlerock I'm thinking either Bohemian Rhapsody (again) or Widows...

KinCat · 11/11/2018 12:36

Hello! I'm 28 and just found out I'm pregnant with my first baby. I'm 3+6 and due 22 July 2019. Not having any major symptoms yet although I'm really tired and a bit nauseous off and on.

Now I've marked my place will go back and read the thread!

itsallgreek · 11/11/2018 12:39

Hello ladies!!!!

Welcome newcomers the more the merrier

@Frazzlerock I'm glad you're feeling more relaxed today... Just a little bit of patience we'll see out little beans heartbeats soon.

On the boob front mine where a very full a cup (the left one at least the right ones lazy) and they still fit in my bra, they ache but they're not itchy... That 1.4kilo growth doesn't sound too bad to me Grin wouldn't mind seeing what I'd look like with bigger boobs...

Nausea and sickness have not come back again woop....

GiGi18 · 11/11/2018 12:56

@Onestep2 @BellaNutella88 that's good to know about the 100 calories. I think I've been a bit over that by about 1000 a day but I'm going to start tracking in MFP tomorrow---- to get me looking at my intake again before it's too late. My sister is pregnant, about to head into her third trimester, and she has only put on 1.5lbs, sounds very similar to your friend! I don't think that will happen to me but I'll try and make good choices. I just love food too much and the xmas season is not going to help! Grin

SnailorSwift · 11/11/2018 13:00

This BabyCentre article is a good read re healthy weight gain in pregnancy for those interested.

Onestep2 · 11/11/2018 13:11

@GiGi18 haha I'm the same. There's not one day since I got back my honeymoon and found out that I've been remotely near a normal calorie intake day!! I use MFP to keep on track, it's the only thing that keeps me from spiralling or accidently forgeting that I ate 3000 calorie snack 🙈 I feel like this Xmas as I won't be getting merry it will be a free pass to eat as much as I can.

Onestep2 · 11/11/2018 13:13

@sailorswift that article is really interesting!! I didn't know any of the additional apart from the baby weight!!

SnailorSwift · 11/11/2018 13:29

Yes @Onestep2 it came up on my app this morning and I thought it was really insightful.

I am opposite of everyone and can barely bring myself to eat, having to make myself. Feel starving about 80% of the time and then when I've food in front of me it turns me.

Onestep2 · 11/11/2018 13:43

@snailorswift I feel really sick when i wake up unless I eat something right away..... granted that doesn't need to be a mcds breakfast like I had this morn 😂 whoops.

Need to get my eating act together coz I feel dreadful from all the unhealthy eating! Have made a food plan for the next week so hopefully that will help. I always feel in a much better mood when I'm eating properly

cathyj87 · 11/11/2018 13:54

So I told my best friend today which was just lovely :) telling the in laws tonight

In terms of exercise I'm a bit conflicted. I do bouldering and aerial hoop there's always risks of falling and lots of upside down stuff. I went to hoop this morning with her and we just took it really easy and did some fun stuff but I'm sorta thinking it would probably be best to knock them both on the head :( I've actually gotten strong this last year doing them and am so sad I'm going to lose all my upper body progress, chinups will very quickly be a thing of the past, but don't want to risk anything with wee bean. So...yoga it is? :(

SnailorSwift · 11/11/2018 14:09

@cathyj87 I get you with this as a do pole dancing and won't be dancing while I'm pregnant. I know some people do but I do worry about it. I do loads of other types of exercise though so am keeping up with the rest. It's only because of the specific risks that you've talked about that I'm not keeping on with dancing.

You will get your strength back super quickly though 👌🏻

Onestep2 · 11/11/2018 14:09

@cathyj87 why would you need to stop upper body work outs? If you already do them regularly then there no harm to continuing them but just listening to your body and rest as and when you need to! I fully plan to keep up my training that included upper and lower body work outs!

Do you feel better for telling your friend? I am dying to tell my best friend. My DH says absolutly no telling anyone till 12 weeks but that will not be happening lol

Onestep2 · 11/11/2018 14:11

@cathyj87 btw meant to add - I understand why you would give up Ariel exercise and hoop! But gym based workouts for upper body if you want to keep that strength will be fine

@snailorswift omg I have done pole in the past.... totally underestimated how difficult it was.... And the bruises!!! Omg lol

SnailorSwift · 11/11/2018 14:14

Yes @Onestep2 the bruises can be crazy! Especially at the start. I've done it for over 10 years now with some time off here and there.

cathyj87 · 11/11/2018 14:15

@onestep2 I find the gym desperately boring so never go! All my exercise atm is hoop classes or bouldering though in fairness I do have equipment at home I could be using, good point!
